I have a 2001 Dodge neon ES. Sometimes when I try to start my engine, I turn the key, but nothing happens. All the idiot lights are bright on my instrument panel and I don't see a load on my battery, but the engine won't try to crank over. BAD STARTER? I turned the key 3 times... nothing. The forth time... turned over and started. One week later I turned the key and to my suprise.. nothing. Two more times... nothing. The next try... it started. It has been fine since, but I want to nip this in the bud right away. Again, I appreciate all the advice and assistance.

What would cause the brake pedal of a 1974 Nova not to return to the original position to turn off the brake lights when engine at a low rpm? The pedal returns to proper position to turn off the brake lights when the rpm is higher. It sounds like your brake power booster isn't holding up. You probably have to either rebuild or get a new one. Good luck.

I can hear the fuel pump come on when I turn the key, fuel comes out of the fuel rail and the air filter is fine... help! Neons are great. I have never heard of them having head problems though. Try testing your coil. That would be the first thing I would do just like the others said. Pull a plug and turn it over and see if you have any spark. If thats not the problem chech to be sure you have a good engine to chassis ground and that you have a ground from the battery to the frame. Also, are there any codes coming...
