There is a small, very sensitive/sore bump that appears on my left earlobe from time to time. It's large enough to feel on either side of the lobe and usually stays for about a week. I don't have easy access to a doctor and would appreciate some opinions. Some more details... I do have an old piercing in that ear that seems to have healed over. The bump seems semi-firm to touch, but it's difficult to say for sure - it's so sensitive I can barely brush the skin without pain. The location is just below the lower ridge of my ear, above the piercing area.

HELP ME!!!! Can't say for sure whether you've been exposed or not. The only thing I can suggest is to take a good dose of vitamins for a few days and hope that your system can fight it off. If you're worried it's something serious that she had, talk to your friend's mother to find out exactly what's wrong with her so you know whether to see a doctor.
