Does anybody know the percentage of Mensa's members who claim to be atheists? I believe Richard Dawkins said it was 90%+.
I hate this kind of question (I mean in real life, not here). I'm pretty damn smart, truth be told, but as soon as conversation gets onto religion, peoples' estimations of me seem to fall through the floor when they hear I'm religious. Can't people just accept you can be intelligent and be religious at the same time, rather than saying it's a choice?

I hate all meat eaters! They kill innocnt animals. How do you feel about these words?
Anyone remember that one Playstation game where the little plant monster had a farm that grew meaty leg joints from the ground? On the basis that it was based on reality, I'd argue not all meat eaters kill animals, some grow meat straight from the seeds.
Answer to:
Why do so many vegetarians feel they have to convince others to give up eating meat?
If they're not eating meat to save animal lives, then their contribution means nothing if everyone else continues to.
Answer to:
Is it Safe to Eat a Burger That’s Still Pink Inside?
No it isn't - beef carries harmful bacteria on it's surface only, which is why blue steak is fine (the outside is cooked). Once you mince the meat though, the poisonous bacteria is bought all the way through it, meaning you can get food poisoning from a pink burger. But they do taste good :)

I've always found it funny that people who believe this one creature created everything in the entire universe also believe he would give half a dried out turd about this one species on one planet in one system...We're not even that interesting, so I think it's not a case that God chose not to give us proof, it's just that we're not noteworthy enough to bother with. Answer to:
Why it's illegal to kill people?
It's illegal to help keep society in place. If it weren't illegal, and you could kill people for any or no reason, pretty much nothing in our society would remain. For example, take government - if opposing parties had the right to just kill the disagreeing party, they would rather than fight them politically, and the party in power would just kill the non-electorates. So, anti-murder...

Answer to:
"Borderline" personality? Does this mean the person borders two personalities, if so what two? How can I better define what "borderrline personality" is?
The simplest explanation I've heard given for it is that Borderline Personality Disorder refers to those unfortunate individuals whose minds lie on the borderline with reality (paraphrasing Mrs. Claire Wilson, abnormal psychology lecturer at the University of Portsmouth).
Answer to:
Can you determine a person's intelligence by a quick look at his/her face?
Sometimes - I've only noticed this down here in Portsmouth, but persons who have spent so much of their 25 years of life with their eyebrows raised to the maximum (to the point where they have extreme furrows across their brow at all times) also tend to be somewhat lacking in intelligence. For the rest of the world though? I don't think so.
Answer to:
Is it wrong to be quiet? I'm not that shy, I'm very friendly and polite towards strangers, I've just always had a quiet personality. People seem to think I've got deep and dark personal issues. I just don't feel the need to be loud. Is that okay?
If anyone tells you you're too quiet, explain to them that you'd rather sit back and listen than run your damn mouth just to feel your lips flapping (this usually turns them into a quiet person for a while...)
Answer to:
I'm feeling very lonely. I've never had a boyfriend/girlfriend and just feel miserable. I don't even got any friends. Just some few people that I chat with at some times. AB, please cheer me?
Cheer up dude, people like us are all over the world. And contrary to what people say, confident, active types aren't immune to this. Some people, like me and possibly you, are in fact different, and for any number of reasons don't do so well around the normal people. No matter how much time I spend in company, I know the others aren't seeing things the same way I am. But...
Answer to:
Do you ever feel so alone, so alienated, so bizarrely different from the reality you are in-that well-I'll say it-I do-it feels like I'm kinda being held captive here -and my brain knows it, but my soul just wants to go home, wherever that is.
I know exactly what you mean - a few weeks ago, I realised that I think about people, all people, as "them"...I don't associate myself with any groups or people around me, because I know I'm different. Whether that's good or bad remains to be seen.

I think a lot of people need to back off with the whole "15 is too young to have kids" bit; remember there are countries where you can marry at 10, and they have kids and do alright...I think though, that if you can't talk to your mother directly about this and make her understand how much it means to you, then either you are not mature enough, or don't want it enough.

Is there any way to alter the time of night that you dream? (i.e. earlier) I ask because, so often I don't enter a dream state until dawn, and it's very annoying because I get interrupted mid-dream when I have to wake up.
What I do is to set my alarm about an hour and a half before I need to get up, so that I can shut it down immediately and try to drift back into REM sleep straight away, thus reentering the part of the sleep cycle that you dream in. It also increases the chance of lucid dreams, which are always fun :) (this answer was originally a lot longer, with an explanation of the sleep cycle and stages...

I bought a new lax shaft and head with custom stringing...paid a lot of $ but I wanted nice stuff for my 1st year in college. With the new stick and head my shots go into the ground, I seem to have lost my deadly shot? What do I need to
loosen up your top string (you know how there are 2 or sometimes 3 horizontal laces near the top of the net, just above the pocket?) a little. also, maybe try and shallow out your pocket, itll make carrying a little harder, but you wont hook it so much so it wont nosedive.

How is it possible to have parents who are both bloody type B (I believe B+) that have one O+ daughter and one A+ daughter. Both children definitely belong to both parents. They are East Indian if that matters...
as above, o is definitely possible, as it only requires the b-type blood to also start coding for anti-b antigens in addition to anti-A. the a blood daughter may be due to a random mutation, thats the only explanation i have for it (assuming they truly are the daughters of the parents).

Starting with God, can you explain the begetting which gave God his co-eternal, co-existing son, so that one can move the idea from the 'ludicrous/mythological' to the 'quite credible' category?
basically, they are the same thing, not in any metaphorical sense. i guess its like a pebble is the same as the earths crust, but as you cant see the whole of the earths crust, you focus your attention on the pebble. i think...so your question is like asking "how do people beget their co-eternal (in lifespan terms), co-existing left thumb :)

When people say cool, what do they really mean?
usually, its because all original meaning has trickled out of the word over time, eventually landing it in the "good" side of the binomial classification of words. in other words, all words eventually come to mean just good (like cool, sweet, nice etc) or bad (weak, shit, crap, hugh grant etc)

Why isn’t it possible for amputees to get a transplant for the missing body part(s) from someone who has recently died? (otherwise known as an "amputransplant?")
like fatbag said, it is possible, but very rare. this is because, unlike an organ, an arm contains several different types of tissue (blood, flesh and bone marrow), all of which would need to match between donor and recipient, whereas with organs and other transplants (blood, bone marrow, organs), only one match needs to be made. also, unless all tissue types have already been measured for both...

Do you ever get the feeling in your throat like there is something lodged in it? Similar to the feeling after you dry swallow a pill? What does it mean?
yes i do, and im pretty sure its because you've accidentally swallowed something - for example, dust, or a bug. if its too deep, it won't cough up, and if its too small, it won't go down for a little bit. that help any?

I heard that eating two teaspoons of honey every day will help fight an allergy to pollen. Is this true?
apparently (according to the rest of family), it is, but its worth pointing out it only works if the honey is (very) locally produced. honey from further away will contain none of the pollen of the plants that are affecting you, and so you wont build up any resistance. also, for a more extreme fix, try to give yourself worms by eating raw beef. this supposedly works because your allergies are...

I have read that jogging makes your heart smaller. Is this True? and is this bad for a person who is already healthy?
ive never even heard that jogging makes your heart smaller, but i do know that it is, and i quote "excellent for cardiovascular health". therefore, if it does make your heart smaller, then thats a good thing :D (maybe more efficient?) either way, dont worry, its good for you

I run every night but now its getting colder to the point its not worth it to endure. I cant afford a gym, no treadmill but what can replace running when its cold?
live near a pool? swim sprints. or take up some kind of court sport (like squash or something). if you know someone thats a member of a gym, they can usually book out a court for free, meaning you can use it for free with them for no charge.

Why does Heaven need gates? (pearly ones I mean)
cos people would accidentally walk off the entrance cloud and end up in limbo if there wasn't any. or, if you're looking for the "real" reason, i believe its cos st peter needs a place to be when deciding whether people belong in heaven - he isnt omnipresent, unlike big g

Answer to:
What do you like better, ice skating or roller skating/ blading?
roller blading is better just for casual meet ups and stuff, as its easier to find somewhere to skate, and you're not limited to how many people can come. ice skating is better for actual hockey (as roller hockey rinks tend to be hotter than hell due to no ventilation), and for a more intimate date style situation :) as for which is more fun in itself, i'd say ice skating, as its...
Answer to:
Do people still roller blade?

What will your soulmate be like?
she (pretty sure about that part) is kind, gentle and sweet. although not traditionally beautiful, i think she is cute, and she knows how i feel without me having to tell her constantly. she takes pleasure in simple things, like the sound of rain at night, or a cheese salad sandwich :) if you find her, let me know, ive been looking for 20 years :D
Answer to:
I keep waking up very early for no reason. Are there some ways that I can sleep better?
make your room as dark as possible, like blackout curtains dark. every creature that sleeps runs according to their biological clock (circadian rhythym), which is set by their suprachiasmatic nucleus. this reacts to light, and so sensing light in the morning will tell your SCN that its time to get up. as a side note, this is also the cause of jetlag - your brain doesn't expect it to be...
Answer to:
What does it smell like where you live?
back home home, it smells like fertiliser and a lil' polluted, as its in a valley full of farms and a city. here (at uni) it smells like that really strong rotten seaweed smell, as its by the sea. you can't really tell while your at either place, but when you make the switch to the other, its pretty bad :s

How can i learn how to free run?
work on your total body coordination. for example! practice with hand stands, and hand walking. i found that when i started free running, if i landed a little off balance, i'd swing an arm around to try and correct it, and end up falling. work on your total body coordination, and these little mis-landings can be corrected using core muscles, such as your abs or back, which tend to be much...
Answer to:
What do you do when you are in too mucn pain to sleep?
do what im doing right now - too much pain to sleep, dont sleep that night. the next night you will sleep, and just make sure youre not gonna be putting your life in danger (i.e. driving long distances, doing extreme sports etc) in the sleep-dep days. i work in a shop during the day, and you can pretty much do that with no brain, but anything more mentally challenging than that may stop you...

What can I do to stop my legs from hurting or any excersises cause i got flat feet.
you don't need specialist treatment (unless you do have severely damaged feet). i'm flat footed, and find that stretching your feet before exercise (point your toes, stand on tip toes, scrunch your feet) helps, as does doing so afterwards. foot exercises whilst sitting also help, such as the above, or stacking cups with your toes, or tying knots in laces to strengthen your feet. wear...

What is the best (way)/(type of training) to improve your fittness for a full game of hockey?
we recently started training in a new hall (for roller hockey), in which the floor is much softer than we are used to, and a hell of a lot harder to skate on. since that, we've had a lot more endurance. so! if skating, skate on a soft surface that makes you work harder. if running, maybe invest in a weighted vest/thigh weights, or run through long grass. anything that makes you work harder...

My boyfriend still talks to his ex-girlfriend, even though he knows it hurts my feelings. He says they're just friends. What should I do?
Trust him. If you can't, maybe you shouldn't be together? But if you do trust him, it isn't fair to say who he can and can't talk to.

Answer to:
Which is hardest to learn: ice skating or roller blading?
Depends - basic ability is easier to come by when roller blading, maybe cos of what the other guys said, plus it tends to be easier to be practice, what with their being more non-ice surface than ice (over here anyway). BUT! more advanced abilities are a hell of a lot easier to learn on ice - less friction means less resistance, meaning you can focus more on what you're actually doing....
Answer to:
What should I do to gain more stamina?
Its not just about regular exercise. When you do exercise, push yourself as hard as you can possibly manage, waaaaay further than you feel able to. Then, don't do anything major for the next week or so, rinse and repeat :) Its not a quick fix, but it works.
Answer to:
What do guys like to be called? (hot, sexy, handsome, cute)?
it totally depends on the guy - i would prefer to be called cute or sweet for example, as i know i ain't much to look at but i'm a nice guy. the typical jock would rather be called hot, upper-class types prefer handsome or dashing...and so on. basically, depends on the guy :)
