i was with my ex for 3 months and the abuse started at 2 months. i thought i was going to die a couple of times from him choking me so hard. i have never experienced anything like this before. i know i will find someone who truly loves me and would never lay a hand on me in that way again....

I think it depends what happened. If they dumped you because they don't feel the same anymore or they just want to be with other people then you should probably just move on. I mean they aren't fighting to try to make things work between you two. But if you did something to hurt them...

Sexual addiction is very real and the other person probably does suffer from it. Not always physically but mostly emotionally if they know you're addicted. It will make them feel like you are just in it for the sex (of course) and you never emotionally bond with them.
