I would think they would care. The less people that come to their site, the less money they make from advertising and what not. I imagine that a lot of time/money went in to this design, so I wouldn't be surprised if they wanted to stick it out to see if they can attract new users to replace...

I work for a hospice. Our company provides care to those who are imminently dieing. We take no aggressive treatments and everything is based off of patient comfort. While it's not putting them out of their misery right then and there, it sort of is putting people out of their misery.
