Do you think it's okay to get a baby's ears pierced?
Ear piercings already are accepted in society, so it would not cause problems in the future. As stated above, I've known women who were glad that this was done - however, I don't know any who were not glad that this was done.

Yes, WITH for both.
Answer to:
Can usin the pull out method get you pregnant even when you are on the pill for about 6-7 months.
Yes, it can although it's somewhat unlikely because of the effectiveness of the pill. But, the only form of birth control that is 100% effective is abstinence so there is always a chance when you have had sex and particularly when the man has reached orgasm at some point.
Answer to:
Would you ever allow your child to drink while underage if you were supervising?
No, since I could get in trouble for allowing that. The only thing I might consider is allowing a child to have ONE drink with dinner, or a toast on New Year's Eve or something. Other than that, no.

What kind of responsibilities should adolescent kids have in the home?
They should keep their rooms clean and not mess up the common areas and they should contribute to the household by doing chores. They should also be able to help out in other ways. If they can't do these things then they should have privileges taken away. Unless the adolescent is from a well-off family, chances are that as an adult, s/he will have to deal with household chores so it is...

How do you get experience when most jobs require experience to work there?
Keep looking, and present your lack of experience as an asset - that you are willing and able to learn, do not have preconceived notions and/or habits. There are employers who think this already, too. Try not to get discouraged, though I know it is hard, but remember that we have all gone through this and most of us have felt this way at some time in our lives. Good luck.

I am 24 and just starting school to be a laywer, i am starting from the begining and am a little scared that this is a far fetched dream...Is it worth it to still try even though i'll be 30 before any real results?
It is NOT far-fetched. Many attorneys start their careers around that age. Maybe a little younger, like 25 - 28, but not much younger, honestly. I've also known thirty-somethings who have gone to night school to study law. It is definitely worth it. Don't be discouraged. It is better to get on the path to a career in a good profession like practicing law. Good luck.:)

It depends, but if it's not necessary or constructive to tell the "honest truth", then a white lie is what I'd prefer. I don't need someone to tell me anything mean, for instance. But if it's something that I would need to know then of course I'd want the truth.

It can be. It depends if that confidence is combined with other traits, such as respect for me, consideration, etc. I can think of one ex who was confident but his confidence did not seem to include these things, so that wasn't sexy. My current S.O. is confident in a very good way and is very sexy.:)

I would think that if he is selling then he is unlikely to stop and might be offended if you ask him to. It really would be best to just break it off. In my experience, even those people who just use drugs would view asking them to stop as you not accepting a part of their personality. This may not be an absolute rule in all cases, but I do believe it to be a general rule. Good luck.

It depends what kind of cyst. Usually they will treat a cyst under the arm, for instance, first with medications, then only if necessary do they surgically remove it. I think that if two people meet online, it is always best for them to meet in person soon thereafter. I don't think a relationship that is completely online is a good idea, though there are of course exceptions. You are each only seeing one side of the person, and even if that person is honest, it's not a true and complete picture of him or her.

However, many smart people may coast through school for awhile, but eventually do have to apply themselves - for instance, once they get to college. They are the ones more likely to have that opportunity and more likely to succeed in those opportunities, usually (not always, nothing is absolute in life).

Would you describe your family as 'close'? And do you have a large family, or quite a small one?
My immediately family is kind of large and I would not consider us close, though many outsiders do. I guess we are at least rather involved in each other's lives for people to say that. However, each of us is an individual and independent of the others, so that's what makes me say that we are not close. We get along, in general, though. That is the important thing.

Answer to:
Is there really a difference between you kissing someone and them kissing you if you are already taken?
Yes, there is. If someone goes ahead and kisses me, but I don't kiss him back, then I didn't do anything wrong and that is not cheating since I did not intend to be kissed. If I kiss someone then that is considered cheating because I intended for the kiss to happen.

It is always better to attend classes in person, however online classes are not only convenient, but offering classes online opens them up to potential students otherwise not geographically able to attend those same classes in person. It is best to attend an institution that exists other than only/mostly online. I don't think that an online school is as strong a credential as an online...

I would just be handed the money without having to pay taxes on it? Well, I'd probably declare at least some of it, unless there was a reason not to. Maybe all of it, that'd be more honest. Then after that:

I would try to but it would be difficult. It is much easier to do a good job and to work hard when you don't have to deal with such stress. I don't like to slack off so I'd do a decent job but probably wouldn't work so hard, because I wouldn't be able to. I'd soon be out of there.

Is committing murder/or killing any human being a sin thats never forgiven?
According to Christian belief, no. Christian belief says that the only unforgiveable sin is not accepting God. Murderers/killers CAN repent and be forgiven. It is good that you are polite and that you are trying to be so nice. Just make sure that it is sincere. I placed in a national exam when I was in high school, and won an award at graduation for excellence in one subject. I also won an award for...

If you wanted to, do you think you could get away with murder?
No, I would inevitably leave some sort of trace evidence - particularly because I have long hair and lose a hair here and there. Also, I couldn't live with myself. Fortunately, I really don't want to get away with murder anyway.

Is it possible to learn Japanese on the internet?
You can get a familiarity with a language, but the best way to actually learn a language is by taking private lessons. The second best way is group classes, and then if those options are not possible, I would suggest using tapes, but you must use them consistently in order for them to be effective. I personally can not see how one can effectively learn a language on the Internet. Like I...

OK, I assumed when reading this question that you were asking a question about what I think when I see others - NOT whether or not YOU should change yourself. So I have no idea why there are answers saying things like 'you shouldn't change', as that is totally unresponsive to the question as I read it - but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on that.

I have a hard time finding friends that are girls & when I do it doesn't last long b/c they start getting on my nerves, or something happens, but I get a long great with most guys. Is this b/c I am insecure with myself or what?
Like DementedPix, I always had more guy friends than female friends, and it has also evened out for me as the years have passed. I totally agree that women are often insecure. Many women are jealous, too. My younger sister has a similar problem, too, as many women she knows can be downright bitchy and mean.

Stewart's. However, if I'm going to pick up root beer with my lunch, I pick up a can of Barq's, so that if I bring it back to the office, no one will think it's beer. With the Stewart's bottles, I always get people saying walking by doing double takes when they see the bottle sitting there. Not for very long. I stayed with one ex like that for awhile, hoping that it would pass because he was going through a difficult time. But after awhile when things didn't get any better, I had to leave. A person can only take so much. And I do not believe that love should be so critical.

Are secrets good or bad?
It depends upon the secret. If keeping something a secret equals being deceitful to someone else, that is obviously wrong (therefore bad). If you keep a secret in order to respect someone else's privacy, or to surprize someone (in a nice way), for example, these things are certainly good, of course.

If you tell him how you feel, be prepared for the possibility that the feelings may not be reciprocal. Well, as others have noted, many people do give to the needy all year round. But for those who only give around Christmas, I personally don't find fault with that. Phone cards are always good, though your phone time is limited at boot camp. No, it is not normal to be totally without friends. We are put on this earth to interact with one another and each of us needs contact with others. I do not believe that family alone suffices. I went out with someone who actually said that he'd lived X number of years without friends and was fine with it - that scared the crap out of me, because I'm nothing like that, and because I...

Why do people say "utilize" instead of "use"?
I do know that many people for whom English is their second language tend to say "utilize" more often, because it more closely resembles the word in their language (example: French verb for to use/utilize is utiliser).

What beliefe are there for the catholic religion regarding christmas? Is it different from Christanity?
The definition of "Christian" is one whose faith is based on a belief in Jesus Christ. I do think that Catholics fall into that category. However, many fundamentalists define "Christian" as someone who is "saved", so since they disagree with Catholicism they say that Catholics are not Christians.
In general, the Catholic beliefs regarding Christmas are the...

Do you think that leaving your dog overnight in the basement is mean ?and if u cant take care of the dog,do you think that you should find him a better home?
I don't believe that leaving a dog in a basement overnight necessarily means that the person can not take care of the dog. I actually know some people who have a nice place for their dog to sleep in the basement, a bed and toys and everything. That doesn't seem mean to me, and it also doesn't seem like they are not taking care of the dog.

My pet peeves include:
- idiot drivers: ones who tailgate you, then when you let them pass they get right in front of you and slow down... that's just one example (there are many, as you all know).
- nosiness
- when someone is insanely jealous of me and won't just leave me alone about it

It would be impractical and impossible to enforce a requirement for schooling before marriage and/or children. That is obviously not true about driver's licenses. However, the question of course makes an excellent point. It's actually something that many people have asked/wondered.

Someone on AnswerBag wrote, "The catholics say that Jesus is mad and that you have to pray to different saints and Mary, Jesus' mother so that they can calm Jesus." Is this true? With a Methodist background (very little), I thought Jesus wanted us to come
I have never heard any Catholic say this, so I would say that the person who posted this is wrong. The idea of praying to Mary and the saints is just like asking your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to pray for/with you to Christ. I have had more than one priest and more than one nun tell me that, I have never heard any religious (vocation) individual say that Jesus is mad.

No, I keep my resume factual because I know that certain companies/firm do verify the information, besides the fact that I have no desire to "fib". I know someone who made up a job on her resume, though that worked for her since the fictitious job was for her father's business.

Do you find it easier to communicate through e-mail or phone calls, with the people keep in touch with? Why?
It's always easier by email but not always appropriate and certainly not as personal. It is sometimes not appropriate in a situation where there should be a dialogue to discuss something, then email (or text messages) are not appropriate if the person would like a chance to talk to you about it. However, though email is easier, it should not be the ONLY way to communicate with someone,...

What kind of answers do people like better on here? A serious, well thought out answer? Or one with a twist or joke in it?
Actually, I think that people prefer answers with which they agree, or the content of which they approve. A person can post a serious, well-thought out answer, and people will post comments and rate the answer down because they don't like the answer.
But to answer your question on what kind of answer, I think it's a balance of both. The site is rather lighthearted but there are...

My cat is the cutest cat. She is a very unique color since she is a barn cat and there is inbreeding in her. She is a full-grown cat but is smaller than most cats also. She is a mixture of many different breeds so she has the best from each of them. She is also the cutest cat because she is so dear, just so sweet. I just love when she crawls all over me and kneads. It is better to get married before your fiance goes to Iraq, because then you would be entitled to certain benefits, and he will too. While it is certainly possible, I don't believe that it is probably if the abuser gets back with someone whom s/he has already abused. I laugh more often than I do not laugh. Sometimes I laugh at work and people wonder what I'm laughing at, if it's something in an email. I think it's good to have a sense of humor. It's better than the alternative.

Sorry, what can you about a womens personality by her feet?
If her feet are well-groomed, manicured, then you can tell either that she cares about herself enough to get manicures, or it may mean that she is pretentious and thinks a lot about her looks. It depends upon the woman. However, I would say that it NEVER means that she couldn't care less about her feet then.;)

I know of people who have been in the military who have stated that women in combat is just not a good idea. There are plenty of other non-combat jobs that are very important. There are administrative jobs, for example, that are performed mostly by women. You would send women because they have enlisted in the military and because their company has been deployed, and because their specific...

What is a fair amount of time to give a new employee to go through "the learning curve" for a new job, without any previous experience?
It depends upon the job. If the job is involved then there is obviously a longer learning curve. When I interview, I usually ask what is the expected learning curve for me to learn the job.
In any job, though, I think that the answer is probably in terms of months, not years. Typically at many jobs there is a 90-day probationary period. This kind of implies that within those 90 days,...

It might be nice if they could be prevented from doing this in case the situation gets out of hand, but I don't see the legal basis for banning it. It's not a bribe or fraud or anything. I like chocolate better because of a lot of the history behind Hershey's chocolate. Milton Hershey did quite a lot of good in his time, such as a home/school for orphaned boys. You shouldn't necessarily be more picky but you shouldn't necessarily be too much less picky, either. Well, why wouldn't the girl and the guy, who she loves and loves her back, be together in the first place? Why would the girl be with a boyfriend? Do not try to influence her to change. Respect her and her beliefs, and try to understand them. I'm not saying you have to adopt them, but respect them. Understand also that the differences may be insurmountable, or may not be. You may have to consider changing certain things about yourself, if you do find her more important to you than those things. I don't think 49 is old at all. There are definite advantages to changing careers later on in life, as you appreciate certain things more due to your life and work experiences up to that point. You can change your attitude and actions towards other people, and through those then people may "change". No one person can actually control any other person -...
Answer to:
After you die, if you could, you you go back and undo any wrong that you have done in the past?
Yes, there is one terrible thing that I did many years ago that I wish I could erase. It's nothing illegal or violent or anything, just something that is the worst thing I've ever done. I'm so not that person anymore that I really wish that never happened.

Answer to:
What makes you happy right now in your life? or what doesnt?
My S.O. makes me happy. So does my job. I'm fortunate to have a good job that I enjoy, working for nice, reasonable people. I am lucky to have an S.O. who treats me well.
But also, I choose to be happy. I choose to seek out happiness as opposed to choosing to feel unhappy. It is not easy but it's certainly worth it.:)

Answer to:
Do you think you would hold the same values if you grew up in a different country? why?
I think that certain values would be the same, but of course many would be different. I do think that there are quite a few values that are inherent to culture, but there are others that come from within each one of us. Each of us is an individual yet each of us is still part of a culture. Our culture definitely affects us, but does not rule everything single thing about us.
Answer to:
If you could remove one celebrity or person from the face of the earth, who?
I would never remove any one person from the fact of the earth, as that is not up to me to decide. I especially think it'd be silly to even want to "remove" a celebrity - I can certainly either turn off the tv, not read the paper, and/or not go to see movies where that person appears, and no celebrity has to particularly affect my daily life. So I try to live and let live.
Answer to:
Why do Christians obey some Biblical mandates, but ignore others?
I have to say that this question seems rather judgmental of Christians. You're asking a question about what Christians do or do not obey in the Bible, but that gives the impression that you are not a Christian and that you are very familiar with ALL Biblical mandates. I agree with all those who said that Christians are human, and also that many customs in the Old Testament are now...

Answer to:
This guy and I have been hanging out together, constantly, for about three months now. Things are complicated...I didn't think much of it until we hooked up two weeks ago. He says he doesn't want a relationship. Is he just using me for fun?
If a guy says that he does not want a relationship, I would say that you should believe him. He is not necessarily using you, though, as when you hooked up it was consentual, correct? If you think that this "friendship" (for lack of a better word) is too complicated then perhaps you should spend less time hanging out with him.

Answer to:
If chirstmas is a time for giving than how come no one is giving from the heart?
I wouldn't say "no one". I would say that Christmas has become commercialized, that is true. But there are still those who see Christmas as a celebration of the birth of Christ, and there are those who do have their hearts in the right place.

Answer to:
Why is the "defense of marriage" argument focused on gay people wanting to get married? Far more married people get divorced than gay people want to get married. Wouldn't it be better to ban divorce rather than gay marriage, to "defend" the institution?
But many of those who are against gay marriage are not necessarily in favor of divorce. Many have expressed their dissatisfaction with the lack of commitment compared to the way relationships and marriage used to be about 50 or so years ago. What would you like them to do about it - outlaw divorce? Ostracize ANY divorced person? Even if divorce is not something with which others may agree,...

Do women tend to eat more during their periods?
Many do tend to eat more, and many women get certain cravings. One particular craving is chocolate, since it has magnesium in it.
But I can't say all woman do eat more, as I'm not sure that is true. I can say that many do tend to eat more.

Answer to:
Do you like laugh tracks on television shows?
I don't mind them. The only thing I mind about laugh tracks is if I'm watching a show with laugh tracks, and someone else watching starting complaining about them. Then they start to bug me, when I didn't mind them before someone negatively pointed them out.

Answer to:
Does it make you a bad person if you go on the Internet pretending to be someone else?
No, it wouldn't make you a bad person, provided it is for a good reason. If it's only to be deceitful or harass/stalk/troll forums or others, then that is wrong.
I also knew someone who had a mental disorder that made her think that she was actually a 15-year-old boy, so she could not help but pretend to be one, since she thought that herself.

Answer to:
What is the percentage of people who cheat on their partner? men and women.
I've heard all sorts of different numbers. Years ago I hear that it was 40% of women and 70% of men. Those figures are probably a bit high and may not be accurate. I've seen other statistics that say 25% of women, and 33% of men. That seems a bit low and also may not be accurate. I suspect the true answer lies somewhere in the middle, though I'm not quite sure how this type...

Answer to:
Why are married women more friendly and approachable, while single women are more cold and distant?
I am single and I totally disagree with this generalization, in fact if I have to make a generalization I have to say that I find exactly the opposite to be true much of the time. I find many married women to be bitchy and they complain about their "problems", yet many of those who complain have two incomes - including one larger than their own - and a house, plus many women do...
