Atheist: On December 25th (of any year), do/did you...?
Why wouldn't I. I don't doubt that Jesus lived and led an interesting life. I just don't believe he was the son of god or that his mother was a virgin or any of that other crap. Plus it would have been hard to go to work as the place was closed.

Answer to:
This question is about my "96" Lincoln Continental, (Anniversary Special). How can I get my rear air suspensions to function properly, they won't rise up like they're suppose to, could it be that the computer is malfunctioning or could it be a fuse?
qwerty is right, probably bad air bags, might be able to save some money and replace them with struts. thats the problem with owning a vehicle with a bunch of needless bells and whistles.

Why can't we grow marijuana freely?
What are we going to do to change that?
Marijuana is a weed, throw seeds out indiscrimanantly, whereever you go, let it grow, let it grow. Watch the idiots try to eradicate it, I'm serious, overwhelm the system, let them spend more and more money trying to stop it and the public will eventually resist the spending. I am an atheist and have my own views on this issue. With all the new info on the fact that climate change data has been falsified, I have a growing concern that we are chasing a ghost! What if it were made legal to kill your own child (despite public protests)? Would you still consider it to be murder or, since it's now legal, just a choice?
I have more of a problem with people who attempt to impose their beliefs on others than those who exercise their right to choose and we all know that this is just another tactic the far-right uses to cloud the issue.

Should the Obama administration have approved the sale of timber from a roadless national forest in Alaska?
I believe in states rights and don't think the federal government has any business regulating anything like that! The purpose of our government which was established by citizens just like us is to secure our individual rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Almost every piece of legislation nibbles away at these rights under the guise of some sort of inferred security....

Do you call and help them out? Do you volunteer to help out with family needs, if your Dad is doing yardwork for the weekend, do you go over and spend the weekend helping without asking for anything in return. Family is a two way street!

Got divorced for $175.00 through a para-legal with a child and property. It takes maturity and I recommend telling family and friends on both sides to butt out. Go to a bailbondsman and bail out, if you go to the courthouse you will probably be arrested. After you bond out, immediately initiate contact with the court and obtain a new court date. It is important that you initiate the contact, this will serve you well when you go to court. If you are a wierdo stalker, KNOCK IT OFF!

Why are Democrats so afraid of Sarah Palin?
Obama absolutely does! Many of our internal problems are because domestic policy was basically ignored by the prior administration. What can you do to make sure that you're canoeing in a straight line?
uncacal is right, pick a point of land and aim for it. I did find it irritating that my partner would paddle on the wrong side if we needed to turn and it would counter my rudder attempts. If we needed to go to starboard she would paddle on the starboard side effectively pushing the bow to port and totally piss me off!!!!

Have you ever been on a canoe trip? If so, what was it like and how many days was it? What did you bring to eat? What kind of clothes did you pack?
Yes, in Alaska on the Swanson River Lake System, it was great, 4 or 5 days, normal food, snacks, burgers, steaks, bacon, eggs, etc. Lots of different types of clothing, shorts, jeans, t/shirts, sweatshirts, raincoat, etc. Lots of beaver, moose, flipped the canoe on the last day, lost some fishing gear. Good time though.

Should it be harder or easier to obtain a driver's license?
I don't think driver's licenses are legal and they should come up with another way to manage the roadways that we all have a right, not privilege, to travel on by the accepted means of the day! These are public roadways, do a search of Tom Hyland and read his story. People are way too willing to sacrifice their rights a liberties for implied safety and security.

If I were you I would save up a couple thousand and buy a used car. Too many people get caught up in the car payment trap. If you can avoid this, you will be way better off. Instead of a 4 or 5 hundred dollar a month car payment, spend a couple hundred a month on maintainance if necessary and you will be money ahead.

Can a Ford Ranger 3.0, 6 cylinder engine with existing distributor be changed to a coil pack? Switching motor from one body (92) to another (97). Thanks for the help!
You are better off switching everything ecu, wiring, etc. Don't mess with trying to change the motor over to distributorless.
Answer to:
My 2002 xlt 4x4 ford ranger wont go into gear, reverse or drive. could this be a rear differntial lack of grease problem or a transmission problem
If the rear driveline is turning, you blew your rear diff, if its not it is the tranny.
Answer to:
My 99 ford ranger is stick in 4 wheel drive low, how do i get it back to 2 wheel drive?
The vehicle must be completely stopped and in neutral to shift into or out of low range if it is an auto, if it is a manual, it needs to be completely stopped and you must depress the clutch pedal. If it still will not shift out of low range do the same thing with someone hitting the shift motor on the back of the transfer case, it will probably work, if this is the case, replace the shift motor.

Answer to:
99 ford ranger shifting hard and abs light is on speedomter quit and the overdriver off light flashes, this all happened at once. is this a sensor oor a fuse and if so. Where would it be on the truck>
A bad vehicle speed sensor could cause these concerns, it plugs in on the side of the transmission towards the rear.

I think or at least hope that common sense will prevail. I think it will boil down to money and when they wake up and realize the revenue that they are missing out on it will get legalized. I'm not into it anymore but was when I was younger.

I have an 88 Ford Taurus that overheats. it usually takes about 5-10min of driving or idling and it starts to overheat. when i turn the heater on it blows very hot air and starts to cool down, but it will soon start to rise again. what might cause this?
Is the cooling fan by the radiator coming on, if not smack the integrated relay control module under the plastic shroud on top of the radiator and see if it comes on then,. If it does, the IRCM is bad. It could also be the t/stat stuck closed. Plugged radiator. Bad head gasket (especially on the 3.8 motor).

Divorce settlement... do you consider you were the winner or loser?
It wasn't about winning or losing. We told family and friends to butt-out and got divorced for $175.00 with the help of a paralegal. We are the best of friends to this day. Our son was the main focus. Lawyers are the only winners in a big nasty divorce. I know this might not work for everybody but it did for us and my nephew and his ex who called us when they went through it. Look, it...

I would more likely attribute it to the ridiculous increase in vaccinations since 1979 or 1989, I can't remember which. Same with Autism. The Autism rate pre 1979 or 1989 was 1 in 10,000 now it is 1 in 100. But hey, at least the drug companies are making money right?

I think a person's religion should not be considered (as originally intended) when you are voting! Character, yes. Integrity, yes. Positions, yes. Do I think a person's religion might affect decisions, perhaps at times. The question is, do I agree with the dicisions. Not the means by which it came to them.

I'm a supporter of the death penalty. and I don't know. I do know that is one argument against it. My contention is that there are plenty of instances where there is absolutely no doubt about guilt. And in those instances, there should be no appeal process, they should be taken directly behind the courthouse and shot in the head.

Make agreements with countries and ports of call that you will be armed. If they want the tourist business they will agree, if not, they lose a huge revenue stream. Money talks. Then mount a 50 cal on the stern, bow, port and starboard of the ship and blow the bastards out of the water. End of story.

"America will become a Socialist Democracy under President Obama, similar to Germany, France, the UK, and Sweden." Do you agree or disagree with this statement?
I'm sorry but our conversation kind of led into my latter comment. I don't think that Obama is responsible for the current state of our financial system. I believe that any time any corporation or industries success or failure can affect an entire economy, it is very dangerous, and we, as a nation have allowed that very thing to happen because we are greedy....

How do I take off the slave line from the trans of a 1987 ford ranger. It has a hard plastic line that goes to an internal slave cylinder.
Clean off the area where it goes into the slave cylinder with brakleen or something similar, you will see a white sleeve made out of plastic, you need to push it in towards the slave cyl, there is a tool but you can use a medium size flat screwdriver, work your way around the white sleeve and it will slide in, when it goes in all the way, you should be able to pull the line out. Good luck.

I am buying a #'s match 69 charger R/T resto w/ docs. When I cheked the #'s they match but the engine code on trans and engine was listed J for Hemi instead of L for 440. The dlr said it was a Fact mistamp. Both seem consistant. Is this possible in 1969.
How does the dealer know that, does he have documentation to back up his claim. If not, he shouldn't be making this claim. So what you are saying is that you are thinking about buying a non-numbers matching 440 powered 69 Hemi Charger. Depends on the condition as to what it is worth. I would do some more research as to if this is a real hemi car, or something else.

Is Barrack Obama going to give the GOP the largest control of the Federal Gov. once he is done being President in US history? Based on all his successes so far.
Unless there is significant change in the system, power will slowly keep moving from side to side and back again as it has historically. Radicals on either side making alot of noise but hopefully more middle of the road leaders prevailing so that we can actually solve problems with an attempt to find common ground instead of concentrating on what we disagree on and getting nowhere but divided.

What would cause my power steering to deteriorate and then quit over the course of 2 days? Is there a power steering pump or belt or something? Fluid is good. Please tell me this is cheap and easy to fix...
There is a pump, a belt,a rack and pinion assy, p/s lines, and an electronic control valve. First make sure the valve electrical connector is plugged in. If the system is not making any noise, does not have any leaks, and the fluid is clean and full, I would really be suspecting the contol valve, then the pump. You have one serpentine belt for everything.

No, I do think we need to strike all laws from the books and start over with the basics like murder, rape, and theft. Could also be a fuel delivery problem. When it dies, ck and see if it is pumping a good stream of fuel into the carb by looking inside the carb and moving the throttle. Ok so I have a 1970 F-100 got the battery and the alternator checked and the alternator was dead. Then I got a new alternator installed it and now the wires that come out of the voltage regulator well actually just the ground started melting.
Repair the bad wire and replace the voltage regulator, you can even replace it with an electronic one.

What voltage should be going to the gauges of a 1970 Ford pickup? I recently installed a new wiring harness and the gauge power is 12 volts and it fried my printed circuits. What should I do?
There should be an inst voltage regulator on the back side of your inst cluster, is it missing?

I just changed my brakes and rotors and one of the brake lines for my 97 ford F150 but now when i pump the brakes they get hard then when you stop pumping them for a min or so they go all the why back to the floor again does anyone know what that could be
Did you bleed them? You can try just bleeding the one you opened up when you replace the line. If you bleed them all, start at RR, LR, RF, LF.

I'm trying to rotate the tires on my '02 Ford F150. After removing the lug nuts from the rear tires, they will not come off. They seem to be "welded" in place. Anyone every had this problem?

I have an '87 Ford F-150 4x4 with the 302 and a 4-speed. I just bought it after it had been sitting for 2 years. It keeps dieing while driving. Can't figure it out. Gave it fresh tune-up. Wondering if it is bad gas, old gas, clogged fuel filter.
Did you change the fuel filter? If not, change it and keep driving it, put in some fresh gas, I bet it gets better and better. Needs to learn how to run again. Oh ya, change the oil and do a drain and fill on the coolant. Make sure it runs hot enough, guage should go to the middle. If it doesn't, the t/stat is probably stuck open, this will cause lots of driveability issues. Rough idle,...

I need to get to the intake manifold on my 97 Blazer (4.3L Vortec). One thing in my way is a metal tube with a braided cover, marked "287C" (I could be wrong about the C, it's pretty worn). What is this tube, and will anything bad happen if I remove it?
Unscrew the end of the tube from its inlet on the intake and remove the bracket that secures it to the intake in the back, it will move over far enough to get the intake off. You also need to loosen the A/C P/S mount bracket and pry it forward to get the intake off.

Why are most guys' toes hideous?
I'm a guy and I don't know. I take care of mine but alot of guys have gross feet. I probably wouldn't date a woman with gross feet so I really couldn't expect one to date me if mine were nasty either.

Answer to:
Do you like your feet?
I guess so, sometimes people give me a hard time because they are small, I'm a guy and wear a 7 or 7 1/2
but I'm only 5' 6" so I think they fit my body. I hate shoes, so I'm barefoot alot and I don't like hairy feet so I don't let the hair grow on them. And the old saying about small feet on a guy is not true.

Probably smoked the clutches, ck the fluid, is it full? Is it dark and smell burnt? Drop the pan and look inside, if there is lots of debris and metal in there, you need a tranny rebuild.

My 350 engine is making a loud ticking noise and there is burnt sludge under the valve covers how can i troubleshoot?
1st thing I would do is ck the oil. If it is nasty change it. If it has been done recently and it is full I would remove the valve covers, disconnect the coil and have someone turn it over while looking at all the rockers, look for one or more not moving as much as the others, if you see a problem, the cam is probably worn out, then you need to consider mileage on the motor etc.

Proportioning valve is probably stuck to one side. Recommend bleeding all the brakes. Start at the rr, then lr, then rf, then lf, filling master cyl as you go. If you have a hard time getting fluid from rr, go to lr and then go back to rr and procede as directed. If everything else is ok you should be fine. Does he know how to bleed brakes correctly? If they raised minimum wage drastically to maybe $20 hr what do you think would happen...i.e. people would be more likely to apply for citizenship, businesses all suffer or prosper price flux... there are a lot of things that could happen... your opinion?
Mexico would become the manufacturing capital of the world. Prices would go up. The minimum wage sector would also suffer due to small businesses failing and alot of jobs being eliminated. Basically, it would hurt the economy more than it would help. If an employer is paying someone $20 an hr, its really costing around $28-$30 an hr by the time everything else gets paid for an employee.

The discussion about his religious views has played and still is playing an important role in the campaign of Barack Obama. Do you agree and when was it the last time that something of that kind happened in the past?
Media Hype! Don't play the game, there is too much at stake! I think he has the capability, mental capacity, cool head, and common sense to do the job. This is America and he has the right to his religious beliefs just like you and I do. If I was a religious person, I'm sure it would influence some of my decision making, BUT, I would hope to keep separation of church and state...

I think school districts are getting way out of hand with these stupid frickin rules! If they concentrated on educating kids instead of finding them in error, the drop-out rate wouldn't be so high. Example, 9th grader flicked water on kid behind him in line for the drinking fountain which has always been standard operating procedure since I was in school 25 years ago. SUSPENDED! If it...

just change it, if it's really a problem, start the car and smack the inertia switch in the trunk and wait until the car dies, this should empty out the lines, you still might spill some gas, replace the filter and reset the inertia switch.

Anyone had any problems with 99-00 ford super duty transmissions, specifically the torque conv. where can I get a good rebuilt for a decent price with a warranty?
These trannies suck, wouldn't buy an automatic, if I had one, I would ck the aftermarket for a bulletproof torque converter and shift kit or reprogrammer, Ford thinks people don't want to feel it shift and therefore it's a slushbox, when it slips like that, it builds heat and heat burns it up. I used to rebuild these pieces of crap at a dealership and it was very frustrating...

How do you set the timing on a 1981 firebird without the gun?
Loosen the distributor so you can just barely move it by hand, go for a road test, the motor pings at all, retard the timing, if it doesn't, advance till it does, then back off to get rid of any pinging, you might have to pull over 4 or 5 times but at least you wont hurt your motor by having it ping, go home and tighten the distributor.

Any ideas?
No strange noises? Still running fine? All other guages normal? Probably bad sending unit or guage, can test by disconnecting sending unit, if guage drops to zero, replace sending unit, if guage stays pegged, replace guage. Also ck the sending unit wire, it could be grounded.

Remember to buy what you can afford. Just because you get approved for $300,000.00 doesn't mean you have to shop for a $300,000.00 house. Shop for a $200,000.00 house and have a life beyond just making a house payment. There is nothing wrong with a 30 year mortgage, just stay away from A.R.M.s and most other creative financing.

probably the 4x4 shift motor on the back of the transfer case if all the fuses are good, these motors go bad or get stuck due to lack of use, sometimes you can crawl under and smack them with a hammer while someone pushes the button with the engine running or key on to get them working

I have a 2000 Four Winds Thor Hurricane. While driving the other day, on not a very good road in MO the front driver's side started to "bounce" some. It was like the floor and the dashboard were not connected to the body of the motorhome. Any ideas?Thx
If the road was pretty bad, you might need new front shocks, they may be bad and when you get into a situation where there are alot of bumps close together, the front wheels just bounce real fast due to the road and the springs. If the road was good, you might have flat spotted tires, normally they will get better the more you drive it due to heat and the rubber becoming more pliable.

Pretty vague question but I would probably ck for plugged fuel filter or a plugged exhaust. Fuel filter should be changed twice a year, and I have seen bad catalytic converters plug the exhaust to the point that the vehicle has no power.

Lots of them, I remember my mom crying while watching a funeral on tv I think it might have been Bobby Kennedy's, I was only 8 months old when JFK was killed so I don't think it was his. So I'm almost 17 and am considering dropping out of high school, getting my GED, and getting married this summer. I'm not looking to be swayed one way or the other, i just want to hear some opinions. thanks
Come on, stay in school, finish it out and then take stock and see what you want to do. I know you think you are in a position no one has ever been in and you know what you want but I wouldn't make any big life altering decisions while in school. Just stick it out and graduate, hold off on the marriage at least until then, if its truly meant to be it can wait a few years right?

Why did the forces for the continuation of slavery prevail over the forces against slavery in the new nation (1783-1820)?
The was some opposition to slavery early in our country's history but obviously not enough to overcome the economic advantages of it, especially in the south. The northern economy was then more advanced technically, the southern states had a more agricultural, labor intensive economy that frankly, probably would never have survived without slaves. Also take into account, many slave owners...

If it bothers you, tell her she needs to handle her own love life and keep you out of it. That should do it. You are talking about an older consenting adult wanting to have sex with a younger consenting adult. You may have a problem with it but it's not illegal and not anyone's business as long as they don't make it someone else's business.

Drove up in 72, I was 9 drove from Hayward CA to Anchorage AK in a 65 Lincoln. It rained most of the way on the Alcan and most of it was gravel back then. Lots of construction and pretty much 2-4 inches of mud the whole way. Got to Anchorage on June 21 1972. Moved to Alaska! Drove down in December 89 from Kenai Ak to Las Vegas NV. Mostly paved where there wasn't snow and ice.

My 1996 motorhome has a gm 454 with an elec carburetor. the injectors on the carb are dumping way to much fuel and the engine wants to die out when i put it in gear. what regulates the the amount of fuel to be dumped?
The above answer is correct, I would suspect the fuel pressure regulator, if you pull off the vacuum line going to it and fuel comes out, it is blown and you need a new one.

Answer to:
I have a 2001 Ford Windstar. No voltage is getting to the wiper motor. I was told there is a relay that could be bad since all the fuses are good. Where is the panel that holds this relay, and what is its position in the panel?
If I remember correctly, it should have a wiper relay control module but I would get a manual to make sure where it is. Also, does the multi-function switch feel ok and does it operate everything else ok? Turn signals, high beams etc. If it feels weird or operates erratically at all. Replace it first. It could be the cause of your problem.
Answer to:
Chevrolet silverado 1500 I have black smoke coming from exhaust and some sputtering and maybe spark plugs misfiring
Carburated or injected? Either way it sounds like too much fuel or the choke is stuck if its carburated. If it's injected, it could be the fuel press regulator. pull the vacuum line off of it and if there is fuel comeing out its bad!

What are your choices? A dana or a ford 9 inch? If those are your choices, it's a Dana, I don't know if 3/4 tons came with a 9 inch but a 9 inch is easy to ID because is doesn't have a rear cover, it's smooth.

My 1993 Bronco has a few problems one is the brake drums cought on fire on the freeway any ideas on what caused it and what i should do?Also missing sensors when i bought it one looks like its on the throttle body is this a throttle position sensor?
The rear brakes could have been adjusted too tight or the e-brake could have been on. I would probably go through the rear brakes completely replace or rebuild the wheel cylinders etc ck and make sure axle seals are not leaking. If athe sensor is mounted on the throttle body on the outside of where the throttle plate is, that would be the t/p sensor.

Why is my 1998 Ford F150 manual transmission stuck in park?
Let's clarify, there is no park position in a manual trans, there are numbered gears and neutral. Is it stuck in gear or neutral? Automatics have a park position and will not come out of park unless the key is on and the brake pedal is depressed. Manuals have 3 pedals and automatics have 2.

If the battery is questionable (which it is) replace it, after you replace it with a good new battery start the vehicle and put a DVOM on the batt with the engine running and ck engine running voltage, if it is between 13.5 to 14.5 V or so the charging sys is operating and you should be in good shape!

The concept of time is man made. We are the only one's on earth that measure our lives by it and let it control our lives for that matter. When and if mankind goes extinct and the earth has time to heal itself, the concept of time will again disappear until it is again inhabited by a self-involved, self-important, species.

Why? cars and people existed for decades without them. The general public has been brainwashed into thinking they need this crap. ABS, traction control, give me a break, all that stuff does is make your vehicle more expensive to repair when it breaks. They want to build in obsolescence to keep the perception going that we need a new car every 2 or 3 yrs, its all crap I tell ya.

...I just performed a ritual I have done once before...cutting my hair towards the last stages of "letting go" and in doing so, I believe I am cutting away the "memories" of the past. Do you think something like hair can contain memories?
Like the movie Bull Durham if he thinks he pitches better wearing women's underwear then he does. If this hair ritual makes you think you are more prepared for the future and have let go then it does. Firm believer in whatever works as long as it doesn't hurt someone else.

My 1997 escort had a problem with the alternator. When it came back from servicing the radio won't work and the fuse won't click into place. How can I fix this?
Hold the fuse in place. Does the radio work? If it does you will need to repair the terminal in the fuse block and ck the wiring behind it to make sure its not melted.
Answer to:
What iam i doing wrong when you pull a dist and put it in line it up with number 1 wire and wont fire how do i get it started and running good
Put it back in with the rotor in the same spot as it was when you pulled it. Not #1. If you messed up and need to start over pull #1 spark plug and bring piston up to #1 compression stroke and then put the dist back in with rotor pointing to #1 plug wire.

I have a 1993 Ford Taurus. On the bottom of the oil pan there is a drain plug and above the drain plug is a sensor or some kind The wire broke off and now the oil light stays on. Could this be the problem why the light is on all the time?

The turn signals on my 1997 Chevy Blazer aren't working. I changed the bulbs and fuses already. What else could this be and ow can I fix it?

Answer to:
My 1997 escort had a problem with the alternator. When it came back from servicing the radio won't work and the fuse won't click into place. How can I fix this?
Are you sure? The radio and fuse is a long way from the alternator. Was the vehicle sitting for a long time before you got it fixed? Is it possible someone tried to steal the radio? Did you attempt to jump start the vehicle and hook up the cables backwards? Believe it or not, most mechanics are not out to screw you.

Can anyone tell me where the bleeder screw is on a 1989 manual transmission? I have to change the clutch master cylinder and it says to bleed the slave at that time also? Any help is greatly appreciated This is on a 1989 F150 4x4 pick up
Alot of times you can just make sure the master is bled and then drive the vehicle if the clutch works at all. The system will self bleed, just pump the crap out of the pedal at every stoplight and it should be fine after a few stop lights.
Answer to:
What is a master cylinder and what it does on a car ...anyone can ans.?
The brake system has a master cylinder that is usually mounted on the firewall and has a fluid resevoir, you push on the brake pedal and the master cylinder applies fluid pressure to the brakes through a proportioning valve and or an ABS controller. A hydraulic clutch system also has a master cylinder.

I didn't realize the rate was growing so rapidly. I don't know, maybe teaching our kids to think for themselves. To be accountable and responsible for their actions and not blame celebrities and society for their actions. My 93 Ford Taurus ran hot so I replaced the water pump, hoses, and thermorstat. Now it will crank but will not start. What could this be?
Did the cooling fan quit working, is that the original problem, there is a box under the plastic cover above the fan called the IRCM integrated relay control module, that could be the problem if the cooling fans quit. Now you have a bigger problem, it got hot. If it's a 3.8 you are screwed, replace the motor.

I am 30 and have been seeing a 23yr old. We agreed the relationship would not be exclusive but not just about sex either. We spend time doing lots of things as if we are BF & GF. We have grown close and now I am worried about being hurt.
Quit worrying and enjoy it for what it is. If you start thinking and get paranoid, you will ruin it and subconsciously make what you don't want to happen, happen! Does that make sense. I've been there.

My boyfriend got mad at me because I hugged my dad when he got me an ipod today for my birthday...my boyfriend said he doesn't want me hugging other guys...what can I do to make him happy?
I have to agree with most everyone here. Your boyfriend sounds like one of those possessive wackjobs that will stalk you if you ever break up. If you like that kind of behavior you can stay in and probably become an abuse victim or you can kick the sick bastard to the curb and find someone a little bit more secure with himself.
