I live in Eastern Nebraska where we have periods of very little rain although the farmers don't irrigate their crops. The West part of the state is arid enough that you cannot depend on good crops unless you do irrigate. In fact, some irrigate their pasture land just to get a good crop of grass...

I do the same as Shelly_R. However, I do either one first, wipe the knife on the clean slice of bread and then do the other. (No particular order.) I also wipe the knife on the outside of one of the bread slices after I'm done and the knife is easy to wash.

I was born and also have always lived in areas that are farms and raise food. I don't miss mountains and nice vistas because they usually are non productive. (except for tourist money)

Lots of starches and calories. Not a lot of nutrition unless you eat the peeling also. I love them!!! If they are baked they are better for you. French fries, hash browns and those on which you use lots of butter or sour cream are the ones bad for you. It's what you put on them that is the worst.
