Not at all unusual if you live in Nebraska. We have yet to actually turn on the air conditioner but have had several nights where it was too hot to go to sleep until after midnight. I live in Eastern Nebraska where we have periods of very little rain although the farmers don't irrigate their crops. The West part of the state is arid enough that you cannot depend on good crops unless you do irrigate. In fact, some irrigate their pasture land just to get a good crop of grass for the livestock to eat.

What good is going to church if you don't become a better person and apply it into your own life?
It isn't all about applying religion and becoming a better person. Although those are things for which we aim. It is also about asking forgiveness for our constant sinfulness and trying to do better. We are all sinners and our need for forgiveness is constant even though we may be weak and still be sinful.

I have a 1993 RV with 454 Chevy. The engine occasionally quits running while driving on freeway. It quits abruptly. After 15 min it starts.
Could it be overheating? Many vehicles (most of them) have a safety switch which cuts out the engine when it gets too hot. After it cools of it will start again. I have experienced this in several different vehicles. The problem may be a stuck thermostat or low on cooling fluid, eg. antifreeze and or water in the radiator.

None of the orchestra seems to look at him, so why bother having a conductor?
And who pulled the performance together? Who decided who should play, what, when, to what beat and how loud. Hey, orchestras do a lot of practice before they actually go on stage in front of the fickle public. The leader during the performance is really telling those who forget, when and how and also showing the audience how well the orchestra is doing as they practiced, etc.

How can I be sure that I’m getting sound medical advice?
Pick medical providers (all types including M.D.'s and other professionals) who are learned and experienced with your problems.
Checking credentials and the type of problems/individuals they treat is a good idea. A person who does 100 surgeries a month successfully for your condition is usually a good choice.

Read and learn about the things and issues you feel you do not have "common sense" about. Why are the bottoms of stainless steel pots and pans usually lined with another type of metal?
Copper, for example, may conduct heat better than stainless steel since it usually is copper that is used. However, stainless steel usually looks very nice and using another metal also gives a reason to charge more for the pot. This has been used as a selling ploy for more than 60 years. (I used to sell Revere Ware in my father's hardware store in the 1950's-copper bottom)

Do you believe there is a 'maternal instinct.' What about a 'paternal instinct?'
I do not believe humans have instincts. All behavior is learned. We learn to love our children just as we learn to love all very young animals and humans. If we are in the business of making a living from the sale and/or slaughter of animals, etc. we learn to do that also.
I was raised on a farm and, therefore, have much different feelings about animals than many city dwellers. To me they...

I'm 17, looking to buy my first car, have about $2000.The cart is $3600. I have a part time job. Am I in good shape to take out a loan?
No. You are not of legal age to sign for and be legally responsible for a loan and your part time job is probably just enough to support the car (if nothing major goes wrong with it) but not enough to pay it off and support yourself also.
You will need an adult co-signer with good credit.

Yes and no. We may have all leaders and no followers. A mix of all the types is usually best. I have led work groups and social groups where you want good people (all of them but need a mix). I have also led and been in groups were there was not a mix and sometimes that leads to not considering all alternatives. I guess it depends on the purpose of the group and the definitions of 1....

Why the divorce? Is there some feelings of being used, of not being regarded as a real person, of not being valued? Fulfilling this kid's fantasy is just a continuation of all those things.

Some kids today are no smarter than their parents. They abuse cough medicine, pills, sex, themselves just like "the folks". Why?
Youth does not respect what others tell them. They must experiment for themselves. This runs through the entire life-cycle of most individuals from birth to death. That's why we keep repeating the mistakes made in history.
In addition, most people are not taught the mistakes of history and/or will not believe them to be true. What to write a book? Great subject for it.

I was always under the impression that America were the leaders in computer technology ,so are AB letting the side down with their glitches?
Practice makes perfect the say. In this case it's lots and lots of practice. LOL
Commercial websites are less subject to glitches as a rule. I see AB as being run by those learning the "art". There is a lot of art in using the technology because learning is always occurring. Just like the art of practicing medicine. I used to work with a medical doctor (M.D.) who said he learned something...

The British taxpayer is being asked to fund the visit of the Pope to our shores, given the wealth of the church do you think this is right ?
Probably not, but you wouldn't want him to bring along all his security team members to protect him either. Our city government constantly gripes about the cost of security (police protection and keeping civil order) when a dignity visits our city. I'm sure the UK and our city would not want this all done by the dignity's or Pope's security staff members. Too much security and not enough...

Is she willing to pay a good price for this? Do you have the money to do this on a regular basis?
It's going to cost and if she fulfills the fantasy and wants to continue, she will pay and pay. No young guy (any color, etc. ) is going to do this free for an old dame.
If she does it, she will not continue because her fantasy will not live up to her fantasy. It won't be as great as she thinks!!

Very soon the Supreme Court will decide if you have a right to conceal carry a handgun. Are you for it, against it, or don't care? And why?
I really don't plan to carry a handgun concealed because I have no reason to. I will and do carry out in the open while hunting, target shooting, etc. However, I feel I should have the option to conceal carry if my path becomes such that I must travel in high crime areas or carry large sums of money, etc.
I certainly feel that law enforcement needs to conceal carry as necessary.

What is the best way to find lost items, when you have alredy searched all the possible locations?
I usually go and do something else while doing without the lost item. The while doing other things, etc. I suddenly come upon the lost item. It is usually where I looked before but looked hurriedly because it "couldn't be there". Mentally retracing my steps sometimes works if I have very recently lost it. Not, however, If I misplaced it quite some time ago and just now need it.

If have full coverage insurance & u get in an accident will the insurance company cover the other driver even if they dont have insurance?
If you were at fault in the accident; yes. If the other driver does not have insurance and is at fault, he/she usually is not covered.
If you were not at fault, your insurance will only pay you if the other driver does not have or has inadequate insurance and THEN only if you have insurance to cover if the other driver does not have any (or an inadequate amount).

How about a job in the Social Work/Welfare field. They need managers who are skilled and can relate to the needs of people. It doesn't pay that well (like teachers) since folks don't consider these things high priority.
It is the type of job that can fulfill your own personal needs for self fulfillment. Selling computers and/or insurance doesn't do any more than make you money.

How would your life change if handguns were banned where you live?
The criminals would not care. They would still buy illegal guns and also steal them. This is how they get them now and that wouldn't change. You must pass background checks and a waiting period before you can buy one. They still get them anyway because they buy them illegally or steal them.
Since I am not a criminal I would no longer have any handguns. That doesn't bother me too much...

Do Christians have to follow any of the Old Testament laws? Which ones?
The 10 (some say 11) Commandments. Many of the traditions and laws the Pharisees and Priests of the Jewish temples were made by them in order to give the religion a formality and to serve the Priest class (give them duties and status). Many of these man made laws are carried forward, but Jesus discussed many of these in Mark Chapter 7.
Dior gave a good answer about many of the traditions...

Is it ethically right for parents to force their children to attend church? Or should children discover religion on their own?
Of course it is OK for parents to take their children to church. Force them?? After about age 16 or so, maybe they should make their own decision. But we force children to go to school also to age 16 or so.
I don't see any difference!! Ideology can be refused or accepted in both instances.

I have pet carpet stains. When I shampoo the carpet they're gone, then come back in a week or so. Why is this?
Because you still have those pets. You may get the stain out but the smell and the pet's memory continue to tell it that this is a good place to make that stain. Cats especially are ones that will continue to do that. Dogs do it also.
You may also want to check if they are soaking into the carpet pad. Slipping plastic between the carpet and pad may be an idea that could help.

One Flew over Cuckoos Nest describe the struggle of man vs machine primeval wild unsocialized antifamily vs asexual women institutions,
"But what did the audience, which loved the film so intensely, think it was about? The film is remembered as a comedy about the inmate revolt led by McMurphy, and the fishing trip, the all-night orgy, and his defiance of Nurse Ratched (Fletcher)--but in fact it is about McMurphy's defeat. One can call it a moral victory, and rejoice in the Chief's escape, but that is small consolation for...

A quote regarding people on cell phones: "We have a social obligation to be available in public places." Your thoughts?
Available to and for what? To be bothered, directed by others, to be allowed not to do some planning in our lives and social life? Cell phones are NOT a necessity. The world and society got along very well before they were ever invented. However, people did have to plan a bit more and had to wait before they could blab everything to the friends and family.

Does Owning a Gun Make You Safer?
Just owning one has no bearing on your safety. You must know/learn how to use it, have ammunition in or near it and have it readily accessible in case it is needed.
Most gun owners are probably less able to use a gun than the criminals. Therefore, in a tight situation, the criminal would win. Also, the criminal may have no intention of actually doing you bodily harm but show him/her a gun...

Were the cops really trying to see me change my clothes at the beach parking lot, or am I overthinking this?
Most public places are not a place to change your clothing. It can be called indecent exposure and be worth a ticket and/or a court appearance. If you want to do this in your car, cover the windows so people can't see in. The police were probably watching to see what your motives and behaviour would be.

Where can I get an official document explaining restriction 9 on my Indiana driver's license?
I would try the website for Indiana. Google can direct you to it. It should be a .gov website. You will have to search around a bit but the info should be there.
If you need a piece of paper explaining this, go to the place where you got your drivers license. A drivers manual should include this.

What do you think of offering a course of parenting to all young couples ? We need a license for every little thing, but not for parenting.
Only for those who can and or will have children. The idea is a good one as long as the classes aren't forced. If they demonstrate they are not up to the task, making the course required is a possibility.

Snake, elephant, tiger, lion, bear, etc. Anything that actually takes more care than a pet rock. I am past the age and stages in my life where I need or want a pet. My wife does fine as my companion.
