Plus I don't think things will be as bad here as they would be in the states. However, I am very concerned about my friends and family who still live there. :'(

Does Obama's relationship with known and confessed terrorist William Ayers effect your opinion of him? What about your vote? http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/440/
"Verdict: False. There is no indication that Ayers and Obama are now "palling around," or that they have had an ongoing relationship in the past three years. Also, there is nothing to suggest that Ayers is now involved in terrorist activity or that other Obama associates are."

Well, professional is the keyword here. So unless the children have a hit out on them, I don't think they would be in any danger. That being said, I still wouldn't do it. First, I don't have any children. Second, if I did, I wouldn't want them around someone who killed for a living. :P

I can think of a few examples. I definitely look at a few people on here differently, because of their behavior in the hot topic categories. Some people find it easier to insult rather than respect differences, or to accuse instead of looking at themselves. It's a bit of an eye-opener.

The NY transit authority will raise bus & subway fares from $2 each ride(not including free transfers) & $5 for an express bus from the Bronx or Queens to NYC. How much is too much to get around? How much is it in your town?
In Brussels, for bus, subway, or metro fare it's 1,70 euro. A monthly pass is 41,50 euro. That's just in the Brussels area, however. To get to Brussels, I take a train that would cost 19,80 return trip per day, or 162 euro a month. So, a little over 200 euro a month to get back and forth to work each day. Still super cheap compared to the cost of driving. Plus many companies...

Is being a "bleeding heart liberal" really a bad thing? After all, what's so wrong about hoping for compassion, empathy, understanding, peace, and love?
Not a thing. It's not those things that people criticize when they criticize liberals, it's the fact that they are so worried about having to pay monetarily for helping others out. Personally, I'd rather my tax money to go to programs like that than to go to funding billionaire oil projects in the middle east.

Obama feels that it is okay for a retired police officer to carry a concealed handgun, but not an ordinary law abiding citizen. If they are retired, then they are regular citizens. How do you feel about this?
From http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/nra_targets_obama.html:
NRA Claim: "Ban the Manufacture, Sale and Possession of Handguns"
False: Obama says he does not support any such handgun ban and never has. He supports "reasonable restrictions on the sale and possession of handguns" (not manufacture) and has said a ban is not "politically practicable."

Obama is against many issues that are important to responsible gun owners. Is that enough to make you vote against him?
I understand you do not like Obama, and that is fine. You may have already read this link, but I am answering this question and giving others the chance to read it as well. The NRA has been spreading lies about Obama's gun positions and voting records. Please, if you haven't already, read this link. At least hate the truths, and not the lies coming from McCain and the NRA.

Why in the world do the democrats have such a resistance to offshore drilling?
I can't speak for anyone else, but I am against offshore drilling because of the environmental hazards, and I also believe that time and money used to invest in offshore drilling takes time and money away from alternative energies, which we need to focus on more importantly. Increasing offshore drilling, or drilling for oil in the Alaska Wildlife Refuge, or anywhere else, still...

Do Both McCain And Obama Offer Health-Insurance Headaches?
To put it in a nutshell, Obama wants to provide healthcare to those who do not have it. If you currently have healthcare, nothing will change for you. McCain doesn't want to provide anyone else with healthcare, but wants to give people a "tax cut" that can be used to pay for a percentage of whatever existing healthcare they currently have. There's more to these, and...

No, keep her! :)
Answer to:
When McCain felt compelled to go back to Washington to fix the economy, why did he suspend his campaign? Couldn't he have left Palin in charge for a few days?
If he doesn't trust her enough to continue campaigning for him, he surely won't trust her in the White House. If McCain gets elected, I am positive that Sarah Palin's role as VP will be all about photo ops and pre-written speeches. Oh, and she'll probably have something to do with oil money.

That being said, IF there was someone who was against Clinton BECAUSE she was a woman, and then that person is now also...

I don't think the percentage is all that high if you compare it to the average society. The thing is that the internet helps create a bit of anonymity so people feel more free to express themselves openly, whereas in "real life" they may not have that opportunity.

I have no idea how either one would handle the situation, if it came to that. I hope this is brought up in the debates and then we will know and can make a decision based on that.
The issues are not being discussed in the media because the media benefits from sensational news stories such as the ridiculous "lipstick on a pig" comment that was taken completely out of context.

Not at all. In fact, even though pretty much the entire site knows I am a strong Obama supporter, I do think that McCain has a lot of good ideas. I am not claiming to be an expert by any means, but I do consider myself fairly knowledgeable about the candidates (at least as much as I can be given the fact that I am removed from the glitz and glamor of most American media and mostly get my info from the candidate websites...

First, I would like to know how McCain can get away with sidestepping an important issue by bringing up something clearly unrelated to national security.

Is it common for people in the UK to get arrested for not having insurance? Is that why he was arrested?

It really depends on the question. Usually, if someone else has answered the question with details that are similar to my way of thinking, I don't bother being redundant, but I answer with a brief answer to let the questioner know what's on my mind. Otherwise, I give enough detail to explain my answer but not make it too long. I don't think the really long answers get read...

How long does it take to lose 20 pounds on ex-lax? I've been taking it to lose weight and i dont want it to damage too much.
I'm not sure, but I beg of you to please approach your weight loss in a healthy way. If you eat healthy foods, and move around and get exercise, and drink lots of water, you will lose weight and are more likely to keep it off. Losing weight on ex-lax (especially 20 lbs!) sounds like it would take a tremendous toll on your body, and most likely will only be a temporary weight loss.

Government says they're "doing everything they can" to protect you. Insurance companies say they're "doing everything they can" to keep prices down. Politicians tell you they're looking out for you, kid! Do you believe any of them?
Sadly, no. I do believe there's a chance that my no may turn into a yes living in Europe, though. I think the public is much more involved in the local politics (especially in Belgium since it is mandatory to vote) so they are forced to do for the people. Also, insurance companies keep their prices down here not by their own doing, but by the government subsidizing them. If I were to...

Everyone of my questions have been asked because I geniunely wanted to see how others answered... and most of them (with exception of maybe the Beatle's Day questions) have to do with my own personal thoughts and ponders or something I am going through in my own life. I don't see the point of just asking questions if you aren't really interested in the answers.

I think Palin is the victim of sexism for sure. I'm angry about that. Why is she being kept away from us. Because, after all, she is "only a woman"? Aren't you irate about that? Why can't they allow her to speak, talk, answer questions ? Sexism?
I don't think it's sexism. I think they are keeping a tight control on both her and McCain, because they want to make sure their agenda continues on and isn't endangered. If it was really sexism, and she was really a spitfire like her speechwriters wanted her to be, she'd have the whole country on her side right now and be as public about everything as she could.

If someone uttered a word during a conversation that you didn't understand, would you let it go or ask them what the word meant.?
Generally, I wouldn't ask because it should be pretty easy to figure out what they mean overall without getting hung up on the details of each word. Just stay clear of the creams and cheeses in some of the dishes, and you will be fine. The problem with very strict dieting is that you don't give your body any flexibility while you diet, so at the end when you go back to your normal eating habits, you gain back the weight. At least that's the way it always was for me.
The only way I have been able to lose weight and keep it...

I'm usually early, especially if it is to a place I had never been before. I'd rather have extra time than be late and lost.
I used to be the opposite, late for everything. It was way too stressful and frustrating, and I got sick of the excuses so I just made the effort and changed the way I do things.

Nah, I keep them all on, especially because I tend to like to look back on questions I have answered to see what other people answered, and seeing the rating in my summary reminds me to look at the question. But I definitely care more about comments than anything. :D

Do you believe in burning the bridge when it comes to ending relationships?
I wouldn't say I believe in burning the bridges, but if a relationship has truly ended, the bridges break away on their own. The only exception would be if you need to see the ex in day to day life for unavoidable reasons, but I have never been in that situation. There's been no need to keep in contact with them.

If so many "Make Money From Home" busineses say you can make thousands using their proven method or whatever, Why won't they deduct the cost of joining from your future earnings? Or are they just trying to scam you for your hard earned dollars?
Most are scams, but will tell you they have to have the money upfront because many people buy the product and just set it aside and never try to do anything with it. (Which does happen). Without very hard work and the right connections, it's almost impossible to make money with a "work at home business program" that you find online or in the newspapers unless you started the...

I wonder if you are subconciously holding yourself back from making friends, because of how you had to keep away from people in the past. If that is the case, then you literally just have to jump over that obstacle and make the effort to leave that part behind you. Invite someone out to lunch, or for a drink or movie after work. Don't wait for others to invite you... make things happen!...

Initially, maybe. But you are lacking serious nutrients if you are only eating this, and the minute you start eating regular foods again, you will just gain it back. The best way to lose weight and keep it off is BALANCED, HEALTHY eating and exercise. It is truly about a lifestyle change. I've lost almost 60 lbs this year doing just that.

What's the best Southpark episode?(Besides the original)
They are all fantastic! A few of my favorites are the Cat Orgy episode, the Rainforest Episode, Woodland Critters episode, and the WOW episode. But the best one in my eyes has got to be the Ninja one, where they got weapons from the carival and then Kenny threw a shooting star at Butter's eye. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, when I was a kid I refused to even humor the thought of eating shrimp. The thought just disgusted me! It had to be all in my head though, because after I became an adult, I tried it again and loooooooooved it. Now I eat it a lot. Funny thing, even though shrimp isn't that "different" from what people may consider normal food, realizing that shrimp was delicious afterall...

What do you think of Salvidor Dali? Do you like his art style?
I love Dali's art... I love the surrealism and I love how the same things are in many of his works. I visited the Salvador Dali museum in St. Petersburg, FL once and on the tour we got to see several things in his works that I never saw before. He loved hiding messages in his paintings!

If I could afford it, I'd fill my house with Monet's paintings. Is there an artist you feel that way about?
Gosh, I love so many different artists. But, if I were to be surrounded constantly by only one artist's works, it would definitely be Van Gogh. His "Olive Grove" painting make me feel like dancing with the trees every time I look at them.
