About me:	Hit Counter I'm a male in my early 40's. I love to engage in all types of discussions and debate, especially political and religious. I am fairly conservative on most issues. I am a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (I'm a Mormon) and I love my faith. I spend a good chunk of my time on AB in the Mormon section defending and explaining my religious beliefs. While it is true that I believe my church to be God's restored church here on the earth, I have the utmost respect for anyone who believes in God or follows a religious belief that is different from mine. I think religion, generally, is a good thing, especially when adherents sincerely follow the teachings of their faith and are respectful of others and the many other different beliefs in the world. I think there are many wonderful Atheists in the world, and there are times when I can understand why they choose to be Atheists, especially with as much vitriol that can usually be found in the religion section. When engaging in religious debates with others who do not share my beliefs, I have found it is best to debate a position by saying "I believe my way is the correct way because...", rather than saying "I think you're a fool for believing the way you do because...". I respect any one who believes passionately in something and is willing to honestly defend and debate their positions. I like to think that despite my deeply held beliefs, I am open-minded enough to at least listen to the other side and see if I can learn something new. I detest people who condescendingly name-call or insult others simply because they believe differently. I honestly try to never be guilty of that (although I will never admit being perfect in that area). I love to laugh, and that is reflected in some of my sarcastic replies. I deeply love my wife and 4 children. I love listening to music and singing. Recently, I resolved to learn to play the piano (My wife and 3 of my 4 children can play). I love watching most sporting events on TV, especially basketball, football, and golf. I am a rabid Utah Jazz fan. I play golf (probably about a 14 handicap) and waste time on AB for fun.
