I have heard studies that say living in a not so good 2 parent home is still better than an one parent home. When there is no physical violence when do you know it is time to leave your marriage?
While there may not be physical violence, emotional problems can tear apart marriages too and should not be considered below physical violence. Both can have the same devastating effects on a person.

Why do Americans complain about factory jobs being sent abroad when the majority of these jobs are low-paying, monotonous dangerous and have long hours?
Some are only low-paying because the people overseas working those jobs don't know any better; or they do, but they can't do anything about it because perhaps their government doesn't regulate wages and such as well as they should.
If those jobs were here in the United States, those employers would be forced to pay a decent wage for the work being done, whether it is factory...

Women like outgoing, nice, and funny men. If you have a likable personality you should be OK. It may take a while but the first thing you have to do is accept yourself and your new scars. The only women who count are the ones who like you for the whole YOU, not just the way you look.

Is the bible sexist, why cant jesus be a girl, who the daughter of god, why are women virgins in the bible, why is god male ,It all about big powerful men in the bible, whos the godess of god
Because before Christianity came about, people actually worshiped the Goddess and revered women - after all, they were the ones who gave life (had children).
Then some men milled about one day and decided they wanted to be in charge. What better way to make a male god and start saying women were evil and the bane of existence (Eve)? Its all about control, really. Religion is a great way...

Why do people who are completely ignorant of Islam hate it so much?
I think you could substitute Islam for any other religion in this question. Its because people are ignorant and not tolerant, and don't want to better themselves; they don't want to be open to the fact that not everyone wants or or can be coerced into believing in their own god(s) or religious beliefs.

I can tell you one thing...I sure wish some males (and there are probably a few hovering females out there...) would sit when they go take a wee on the trains I work on (we have unisex bathrooms). It would be nice to at least put the seat up (since you know, they don't need to SIT DOWN), or wipe the seat off when they're done wagging it about. I get so sick of having to wipe someone...

The father of my unborn child has told me he wants to terminate all his rights to the child because he is married and already has kids and does not want to mess it up with a kid he does not know. How is that done in Georgia?
Well unfortunately he has to man up and take responsibility for fathering the child. Unless you feel confident in your ability to raise the child, and do not want to get child support money from the father. Because that's what will happen - if you let him give up his rights to the child, you won't get any monetary help for it.

Does the fact that Sarah Palin's 17yo daughter is pregnant mean she's (Palin's) unworthy to be VP? And WHY (either way)?
Hell no. I've seen it on the news soo much today, and I am so sick of it. The daughter isn't running to become VP, her mom is. As Obama said, leave the kids and family out of it.

My wife wants me to ask: She's lost 60 pounds, has 15 more pounds to go (she thinks - 140# at 5'-0"), and "the scales haven't budged for the last eight months." She's exercising four days a week at a gym now. How can she lose the last 15 pounds?
First tell your wife she is beautiful just the way she is. Then tell her that she shouldn't base her health on a number on the scale - she should base it on how she feels. If she is healthy and exercises and eats well, she's treating her body well.
However is she truly insists that getting down to a certain weight will make her feel better -- find out if she has been doing the...

Does anyone wanna try and make me feel better? my schedule for this year has me down as a 10th grader...wtf i was that last year and passed all classes but algebra.....i should be in 11th this means i cant go to ringdance or anything else like that
While I mean no disrespect, you should have found this out at the end of your last year of school. Since it is all based on credited school hours (in most high schools) you are probably missing more than the one credit for a math class, or perhaps it was a simple clerical error. I'd suggest calling up your councilor and finding out whats up with that.

My 21 month old son drinks out of the toilet. I sometimes catch him before he can do it but I'm too late occasionally too... What would you suggest to get him to stop?
Hit him on the nose with a newspaper and say "No!". Joke.
Do you have an animal that he might have learned that from? I'd suggest keeping the door closed to the bathroom, unless he can open the doors. Or they sell child safety things for toilets too.

Why do people seek spiritual development? What do they get out of that?
It is a hard question to answer, but I am of the personal opinion that people don't want to think that they are a cosmic "mistake" - that we aren't alone and on our own in the whole entire universe. The belief in a higher power or developing a sense of spirituality is a reassurance and is soothing.

I would say your best bet is to actually call the phone number provided on the box by whoever made your hair dye. I've dyed my hair many times over the past few years, and I've seen those numbers on most major brands of hair dye that can be purchased. That or go into a beauty supply store (like Sally Beauty Supply) and ask the person working at the counter. They're usually...

WHY DO MOST TEENS HAVE ABORTIONS?
Need some reference there on the part where you say "most teens have abortions". Aside from that, some teenagers have abortions because they realize they screwed up when they got pregnant, and they are smart enough then to realize they don't have the means at that point in time to take care of a baby. Or they got raped, and I'll bet not a lot of women would keep a baby in...

Oh yes! That is not to say that all people are terrible parents; there are those out there who do a fabulous job of raising their kids. However, I've have seen way too many examples while at work onboard Amtrak trains. A very generalized example of bad parenting would be when I see kids running around and/or climbing on random parts of the insides of the trains. Such as climbing on top...

We find out that Palin's 17 year old daughter is pregnant and gonna marry the dad and keep the baby. So much for family values. I guess Palin is not so perfect for the religious right after all..or is it o.k. as long as her politics square with theirs?
I fail to see how the daughter would be making decisions if Palin was elected. The media doesn't have much to go on, so they attack the daughter. That is hardly news or significant.

I can't say that its against the law to date someone 6 years your junior. However I am of the opinion that a relationship between a 21 year old and a 15 year old wouldn't be a particularly healthy one. I don't own a gun, but my fiance and his mother own a gun shop and range. I can imagine they would hide their guns if that ever happened - but I don't think it will. Especially since our own Supreme Court just rules recently that yes, we do in fact have the right to "bear arms". They took a while (over 200 years!) but they finally figured it out.

Then also realize they are being so ridiculously childish if they are going to say crap about you only because you won't let them use you for car rides. You really shouldn't put too much stock into the term "overweight". What you SHOULD ask yourself is: "Am I healthy?" If you eat right, get moderate exercise, and don't smoke or put anything else unhealthy into your body (for the most part...We all have our vices!) then you aren't overweight.

Does anyone here want Jesus to return? I don't because think about how many holy wars started by him merely bringing peace. Now when he returns he is going to kill the atheists, the gays, the Jews, and all the non-believers and send them to Hell.
In all honesty, if Jesus were to return I think he would send all his Christians and other denominations to hell right along with everyone else. I don't think Jesus would like the state his religion is now in. I think he'd be more apt to save the hippies, Buddhists, goths, ets who are all about saving the planet and treating each other with respect and love.

I would only let him have fast food maybe once a month, no more than that. As for juice, all the sugar loaded into it is not good for a child's teeth. Even too much milk can be a bad thing.

At first Ford had formed a theory to account for this strange behavior. If human beings don't...

Why do women like to get involved with men who are already in a serious relationship with someone else. It's like they have no shame. There are plenty of men out there and they specifically prey on the ones that are taken. Why?
Not all women are like that. I'm guessing only a small percentage are. Anyways, perhaps the women you are referring to are thinking that since a man is already in a relationship, they must be a good catch.

I don't think any books should be banned in public schools. However, I don't think religions should be taught in public schools, either. Taught ABOUT, perhaps, but not an actual religion itself.
It would be nice for schools to let their students have access to most religious writings and let them decide on their own about religion. Because as we all know, the Christian Bible...

Being gay has nothing to do with whether or not you are able to love, feed and clothe the child you wish to adopt.

Guess it depends on where you live, but food prices have been going up in the USA. Restaurants need to hike up their prices to still make money and stay in business.

I remember seeing a movie such as this, except it was a newer movie (newer version, perhaps?). Can't help with the name though, but at least you know you aren't crazy :D

Have you ever adopted an animal from a shelter?
I've adopted two black cats from my local Humane Society -- and they are the best pets EVAR. My cats are very loving, and for right now they are in my mom's care. One was not declawed from his previous owner (and I'm against such things) but he doesn't use them on anything but his scratching post. I say go for it!

Well I'll tell you one thing I DO know -- as I just came home from a jewelry store -- titanium rings can't be resized. So that leads me to believe they probably can't be cut easily either.

How very odd! I don't know what you could do though. I think your best bet is to just go over to him one day and ask him why the heck he did that.

I'm heartbroken - We have to have my dog put down. He's become unpredictable and aggressive - he attacked the 12 year old dog, unprovoked, this morning. I'm heartbroken, but I have my baby coming soon. My friends are calling us murderers. Are we wrong?
Have you considered giving your pet to a pet shelter, or tried to find another family or person to give it to? While I don't know your situation completely, it could just come down to the fact that your pooch is feeling jealous, especially since you have a baby on the way. Or it might be something completely different.

Is it worth staying in a loveless relationship for a baby only?
No, you need to realize you yourself are the important one, and the only one that matters as far as the relationship goes. Both mother and father can "be there" for a child without having to be in a relationship together if they don't love each other anymore.

I've had quite a few boyfriends in the past who, even if they didn't totally shave, they did trim down there. Reasons why varied: some did it because if they let it get too long it itched a lot (especially when they got sweaty) and others liked to because they thought it made their penis look bigger.

Exercise alone won't help you lose weight unless you pair it with a healthy eating plan. Did you stick to a "clean eating" diet while exercising and doing cardio? Many people seem to be saying nowadays that to lose weight is 80% nutrition, 10% exercise and 10% genetics.

Are these valid reasons for preventing men from joining a protest against violence against women...?
1/ Its held on International Women's Day
2/ Women and children may be afraid of men
3/ Women may feel they should defer to men.
But men - give money!
I don't think they are valid reasons. Domestic violence effects everyone, not just women. I think that its great that they are protesting it; but EVERYONE needs to be vocal about it. The women organizing it shouldn't exclude the opposite sex for it.

I have really long eyelashes, and I often get this annoying feeling like the top and bottom ones are stuck together. Has anyone experienced this, and what can I do to make it stop?
I know this is going to sound kinda funny, but I just pull mine out. This is not to say that I pull them out forcefully or yank them out. I just lightly pull out the loose eyelashes, this helps me out.

Why would an atheist, unlike most "live and let live" non-believers, stridently plead with, then scream at, believers to wake up and clue in to his personal belief that God is a hoax?
Because they are an extremist atheist, just like you have extremist Christians, Baptists, Muslims, etc.

The only reason they are suing Al Gore, in my opinion, is because he's Al Gore. He's been in the news tons of times already, he's pretty darn famous. If Joe Blow was being sued, who would give a crap? Hmm?
Anyways, you can't really contradict scientific evidence, and most of said evidence suggests we as humans have accelerated the naturally occurring Greenhouse effect...

I am 12 weeks pregnant, and my husband and I have decided on abortion. We are skeptical about having it done clinically, and wondered if there was an herbal way of causing a miscarriage? Most of the ways I have found have been for women 8 weeks or earlier
First off thanks for being a pro-choice person! Secondly, however, I couldn't recommend any herbal remedies for an abortion. All the ones I've heard about aren't safe for the woman and don't have a full chance of working either. I realize that abortions are quite costly, but try going to a Planned Parenthood in your area (or something similar). I'm sure they can be...

I broke it one day when they'd locked the dog in my room with me ;)

Are you supposed to go back to a place where you handed in a resume or application to ask if they have looked at it? Do you go within a weeks time?
You aren't supposed to - they will call you if they are interested. However, there is no reason not to go there or call to ask if the position has been filled yet, and whether or not they will keep your application for later. But only call or go in during the business' down time. You'd make yourself look something like an ass if you went in at their busiest moments.

Most cats who inexplicably start with this sort of behavior are trying to tell you something - usually its something along the lines of "I'm sick" or "I'm in pain". With my boyfriend's cat, she started doing this and when brought to the vet, we found that she had a terrible ear infection. I'd suggest taking your cat to the Vet asap.

Before you even look at lotions, look at the soap/cleansers you are using. If they are commercial "beauty/bath bars" from a grocery store, I'd suggest tossing them and ordering some handmade soap. This can help a LOT with the dry skin as handmade soap contains no chemicals or fillers added in. If you can't do that look for lotions with the least amount of icky chemicals...

He obviously doesn't deserve you, and my advice would be to just forget about him if he is so shallow that he dumped you for a "prettier" girl. Explains in detail. FYI the sky isn't blue because of light reflecting off the oceans. The blue color of the sky is due to Rayleigh scattering. As light moves through the atmosphere, most of the longer wavelengths pass straight through. Little of the red, orange and yellow light is affected by the air.
However, much of the shorter...

People leave negatives because they don't agree with your opinion or they believe your comment to not be factual. You shouldn't take it personally and want to get revenge on them just because they do not agree with what you have said.

So the Compact Disc turned 25 years old today. What was YOUR first CD, and when did you get it?
My dad got the soundtrack to the original Superman movie on CD back in the 80's. I forget what year that actually was, but definitely before I was five years old and I was born in '82. He might even have gotten it when the movie first came out in, what, '78? Either way, CD's were way before their time back then...

Is it acceptable to shower twice a day?
Why wouldn't it be? I'd be more worried about the soap you'd be using. A lot of the bars available in grocery stores and the like are not actually soap, they are labeled "beauty" or "bath" bars. Dove is included in this category, by the way! If you use a bar such as this, I'd be worried that your skin would get irritable and too dry. If you like...

Have you gone, or would you ever go, to your High School reunion? If you have, how'd it go?
My ten year reunion is coming up fairly soon...I graduated in 2000. I'm not scared to go, but I might not anyways. My class had 650+ people in it and I had only a handful of friends (most of which I don't even talk to anymore because I have no contact information) - so I wouldn't even know if they'd be going or not!

I'm looking to buy a house, and can't decide which one to buy since there are two I'm really interested in. Help me decide? See answer for descriptions.
First off let me say I'm buying this house with my boyfriend; that is not up for discussion.
The first house was remodeled by a "flipper". Its about 1,000 square feet, 3 bedrooms, and completely new on the inside. To sum up, the person made brought a large home look to this house - cathedral ceiling in the living room, stainless steel sinks and appliances in the (large)...

How hard is it to find a job that pays a good deal above minimum wage in the USA, for a unexperienced worker with a high school diploma who is willing to do the worst job ever? What could it be, what part of the USA would you recommend?
You could always try getting a job working onboard Amtrak trains. I got a job with them when I turned 21, been here for over four years now and I'm making $20 an hour, plus benefits and the tips I make while working on the train...I sell food and drinks in the cafe car. It was only supposed to be a "summer" job, but I looked at all the people I knew who were graduating college...

I'm sort of mixed on this. On the one hand, you accepted the cleaning job without stating you'd charge extra for working extra time (as far as you've stated) in which case I'm chalk it up to a learning experience and you'd know to not do that in the future.
On the other hand, I think it would be more than fair to charge the lady extra per hour since she apparently...

How do you rob a gun shop without having that gun you want to rob it for?
My boyfriend owns a gun shop, and yes, you will get a gun pulled on you the moment you try to pull out a gun (or even threaten anyone at all). Good luck trying to break into one at a time while it is closed as well, because they have very sensitive, very loud alarms.

Its nice to think that way, but you can't be signed up for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or any other organization of the like in the USA and not be subject to the consequences. I forget the term (awol?) but for running away from their CONTRACT they signed, they could get in severe trouble.

I lived on the south side of Chicago, where the houses are cookie-cutter and so close as to be almost touching on the sides -- except my parents had a double lot on a street corner and we were one of the only houses for a large area to have large trees on our lot. I used to climb one of them all the time when I was in between 5 and 10 years old, by placing a light brown garbage can upside down...

Seems as though you still care for the live in boyfriend, even though you are thinking of other guys. What I'd suggest is talking to your boyfriend about it, and/or getting counseling. No, because it takes at least a month for the pill to reach its full potency in blocking pregnancy, so if you did this you'd still need to use protection (condoms). Not to mention the fact that it would be really messing with your hormones that way in my opinion.

You go to a bar with a girl (possible future GF) and she starts flirting with other dudes. You then leave the place without saying anything and she gets mad at you for leaving her there? Whose right and whose wrong?
I think both are in the wrong (maybe). Her for supposedly flirting with other men and "you" for leaving her there. You never know, she might of just had that sort of personality where she seems to flirt with everyone. And as far as "you" are concerned, you went with her there the least that can be done is leave together...To possibly ask why she appeared to be flirting...

DON'T keep dumping guys because you want someone "new". DO work harder to get better grades. You aren't stupid, just lazy. DO save your money from your job, instead of spending it on stupid things. Invest it in a mutual fund or something else. While we're at it, learn everything you can about saving money and investing it. DO start...

If you attempt suicide and fail, does that make you more of a failure? Just wondering. Read that Owen Wilson is back to work.
I think that people who try to commit suicide and fail are just looking for attention.
Of course the only reason I say that is because I have a cousin who has tried more than ten times to "commit suicide" and failed of course. Although now that I think about it, we haven't heard from him in five years, so maybe he actually went through with it this time...

Point and laugh, seeing as though I dislike both of them.

Why do we kill people for killing people to show that killing is wrong?
I'd rather a murderer be dead than taking my taxes to pay for them to live their entire life in jail.

Why has it become socially acceptable to be rude to smokers.
I think it is because we now know that smoking is very bad for a person. However, I don't think governments should be regulating it so much, and banning it in places and stuff like that. I don't smoke, but I grew up around it (both parents smoke, and still do) so I'm not bothered by it much.
I'm all for letting people kill themselves if they want to, whether it be...

If your man told you he had made plans to go out on a date with someone else, but didn't end up going because he got sick, what would you do?
Break up with him; I don't think you'd need to ask any other questions. If the person I was seeing said that to me I'd know A - he wants to see other people and B - he wants to hurt my feelings.

I feel I can't stop myself doing something on my computer, I just do things on my computer 3 or 4 hours a day, usually I just surfing on the Internet or using stock software, and sometimes play games. I can't stop myself doing that. What could I do?
I think a more important question to be asking is "Does playing on the computer 3+ hours a day interfere with other important things in my life?"
I must admit, I surf the internet and play online games quite a bit more than 3 hours a day sometimes, but I always make sure I have necessary things done first - such as daily chores, making sure food is bought, playing with my cats,...

I have been eating healthy for 4 weeks, but I am always hungry even after I eat. I started checking my sugar levels. They are the highest in the morning and drop throughout the day even after eating. Yes, good foods like fish, fruit etc.
I guess it depends on a few things. One may be, did you drastically change the way you eat? I find that making small changes to my diet over time is much better than just totally changing my diet in one day. I also eat smaller things/meals more frequently throughout the day, so I'm never hungry but also don't eat as much.

Do you drink Diet Coke and other diet sodas that Contain Nutrasweet?http://www.aspartamekills.com/
I sure do! And I prefer Diet Coke to any other diet pop as well. If I can't have Diet Coke, I'll drink plain water, since I don't like coffee, tea, or any other flavored drinks of any kind. I'm also glad someone pointed to the Snopes site, because before I read the comments I was going to link to it as well ;)

Be creative. If you were homeless and had to stand on a street corner with a cardboard sign, what would you write?
"NEED MONEY FOR ALCOHOL RESEARCH"
(Ok so I cheated...I actually saw this on a homeless man's sign in Austin, TX).
