Not at all. Science is learning what the Bible recorded millenniums ago. If there appears to be a conflict, either the Bible is being misunderstood or scientific discovery has yet to catch up.

Do atheists have ethics or morals? If yes, what makes them have such standards in their lives? After all, Life to them is nothing but a happy accident.
From an atheist perspective, there is no ethical and moral standard or authority to which everyone must adhere, other than what the law (or corporate policy) states.

Please, Define the terminology of "true atheism" and specifically what it means to be a "true atheist"? Apparently we have been having some disagreements and arguements that beg to be clarified. Your assistance is greatly appreciated
A true atheist believes that no intelligence is necessary to create any complex system, even the most complex of systems, such as the fundamental forces (gravity, electromagnetism, and strong and weak nuclear force), the laws of physics, space, and mathematics. Even if given only a trillionth of a second, no intelligence is needed to create anything.

That's very doubtful because at the end of one's life, what matters are relationships with others. That is part of the reason that atheists, statistically, die younger than active believers.

Many Christians argue that since one cannot disprove god and the bible then one should believe in them. By that reasoning - do those Christians also believe in The Celestial Teapot and the Flying Spaghetti Monster? If not, can you disprove either one?
There are many examples of people (e.g. George and Marha Washington, Napolean, Nefertiti) organizations, and even civilizations which we cannot prove exist(ed) since they don't live in our midst or exist today. All we can do is determine what/who does or does not exist based on what we believe to be the preponderance of evidence.
To that end, I've not heard of any evidence of the...

So if there is no god? or no creator, than how come every culture have their own form of god or gods?
Humans, evidently, have a built-in need to worship someone or something, even if they don't call it God or even recognize that they are in some way offering reverence to someone/thing.
There are exceptions of course, but the pattern, as you point out, is unmistakable - even in the most highly educated and secular societies there is still a large contingent of theists, not to mention...

Exactly how far apart are humans set from animals?
Primates are supposed to be our closest relative. Very little that they do is not done via instinct. Why is it ok to have an abortion? Would you murder and infant if you saw one laying there in its cradle? Same thing? Yeah it is.
It is legal to kill a 21 week old fetus even though some can live outside the womb. During birth, while crowning, it is still medically referred to as a fetus, seconds later it is an infant. Is there really a difference between a fetus and an infant?

Everyone was born an Atheist, why do people feel the need for religion?
We were all born believing and knowing nothing other than, perhaps, the sound of our mother's voice. Some people look for solutions to life's problems and hope when faced with poverty, sickness, old age, death, despair, and the normal stresses and strains of daily living.

I haven't noticed that to be true any more than the reverse. However, people in general tend to be hostile to those who think and see the world differently. No particular ideology has the hostility market cornered.

Do any of the texts in the Bible contradict scientific principles?
No. The problem is lack of understanding of the Bible and inadequate understanding of what can or cannot be done. If you don't fully understand the Bible or science, it might seem that way.

I have asked for testable evidence for god. To be fair, I'll present excellent evidence for evolution. Humans has 23 pairs, chimps and gorillas have 24 pairs. It's very close to proof we have a common ancestor. Your thoughts?

Is there an international consensus on evolution?
No, there isn't international consensus on anything! Literally.
The majority of people (outside of states where religion is suppressed) believe in a creator God. Still, many people, even those who are religious, accept evolution. On the other hand, most scientists accept evolution, but certainly not all.
There is far from a consensus on this.

Of course, no different than anyone else.

I heard on the radio an argument against Intelligent Design: If there is such a thing, how can you explain the EXTINCTION of millions of species throughout thousands and thousands of years? The design was not intelligent! Any ideas on this subject?

To those who do not accept evolution, what proof would cause you to accept it?
Three things:
1) Evidence that mutation does more than speciation, leading to very closely related species. So far, there is zero evidence that mutation does more than create a slightly different species of the same creature.
2) A clear fossil record that shows the graduation from the single cell creature to the 100 millions species today, with all the tiny changes shown.
3) Evidence...

Yes, many tests have shown that the basic mechanism of biological evolution (mutation) does not have the ability to have produced 100 million species, with billions of vastly different complex subsystems from a single cell, or (which admittedly is a whole other subject) that that single cell living could have become animated by natural causes.

How can light get to us from stars which are millions of light years away in a universe which the Bible claims is only thousands of years old?
The Bible says no such thing. People say that, but not the Bible. It says the heavens (including the starts) and the earth were created "in the beginning."
Answer to:
What would be some scientific experiments that would include the idea of an Intelligent Design?
We test this every day. Whenever you see or use a highly organized complex system, we know for sure that it was designed by an intelligent individual or group. Complex order doesn't just happen. This is what keeps most of us employed.

No, because 1) it contradicts the Bible account, and 2) evolution is implausible in what it is supposed to have been able to accomplish. Why is it that Liberals speak out against War so loud but in the next breath they will support abortion? Abortions kill more people every year then our current wars have. Abortion is war on the truly innocent.
Both result in killing innocents. Innocent civilians and innocent unborn humans.
The difference is that in war, they don't usually specifically plan to kill the innocents as is done in abortion. Abortion's the most ruthless inhumane act of human victimization I can think of.

Obama is far more charismatic, engaging, and less polarizing. On the other hand, Bush did tremendous good for the third world, especially Africa and, curiously, took no credit for it. He never even talked about it. He's probably more popular in parts of Africa than he is in the US.

It depends on how much money you have. Super rich athletes with 4 ct diamond studs in each ear scream "I'm crazy rich and can actually afford this!" Normal guys might appear to be trying too hard. But, it's mainly what YOU like, not anybody else.

You can't if they think it's a good idea and want to mark their body permanently.
Answer to:
I am turning 15 on Friday, and I plan on getting a tattoo. It is going to be a small (1") pentacle. Do you think this is a bad idea? If so, why? If not, where do you think I should get it?
You're old enough to get an abortion without your parents' consent. I'm sure you can handle a tattoo.
Get is somewhere that's not visible in dress clothes. Eventually, you will be a grown up and won't want it to show during a business meeting.

Is a single incident of domestic violence a good reason to divorce? (My wife hit me last night and I am moving out today)
I don't need to take that, and I wouldn't take it.
I have too much self-respect. Plus, there are too many single women out here looking for a good man.

Why aren't women ready to relocate for jobs/projects? How do we expect to earn as much as men if we aren't geographically flexible?
Thankfully, women are, on average, more inclined to prefer stability to be able to be available for the kids. However, the result is that women, on average, do not command as high salaries as men because of working fewer hours.

Should polygamy be legal if all involved are 18+ and willingly consent to plural marriage?
Absolutely.
The only reason to disallow polygamy is bigotry and intolerance. The sad thing is that many people who are otherwise tolerant and non-prejudiced are intolerant and bigoted when it comes to this issue.

Why do feminists use the word misogynist so often?
The Ledbetter Act does not address the issue of equal job performance. So, there will be suits brought and won or settled for cash by women who took long maternity leaves, took more sick time, and worked less hours but had the same job title as a man who worked more. Oh well.

This concept extends light years (literally) beyond the concept of evolution, which is about life on planet earth. What are some of the major advances in gender equality since the 19th century?
Women have an equal opportunity to compete with men for any job, in the public or private sector. We came this close to having a female president. Women can pretty much do whatever they want, as long as they are willing to make the same sacrifices men are - which often means sacrificing time spent with their families.

Should women be allowed 2 play with men in sports?
Only if there's no comparable girls team. Why? It limits boys' opportunities but not girls.
For instance, say your son was just OK and might barely made the track team; but, there is a girl that's slightly better than him who tries out for the boys' team. If she gets the last slot, what are your kid's options? Answer: none.
However, if he gets the last...

1/ Its held on International Women's Day
2/ Women and children may be afraid of men
3/ Women may feel they should defer to men.
But men - give money!
There are no valid reasons to pit men against women, which is what that would do. In fact, there really shouldn't be a protest over violence "just" against women; it should be a protest against domestic violence, period.
All domestic violence (woman on man or man on woman) is wrong, whether an injury occurs or not. The facts show that although women are more often and...

It depends on the circumstance, the specific need at the time, and the understanding you went into the marriage with.

If the marriage is effectively over (e.g. we were separated and planning the divorce), I might enter into a relationship. But, many people would define that as cheating.

The guy who have long term affairs are probably truly unhappy with their emotional relationship with their wives but don't want to get divorced for the sake of the kids or financial reasons, etc. They guys who just go out looking for sex are just animalistic.

My mother uses her maiden name as her middle name, rather than hyphenating it. So, she kept it but showed the respect and commitment my father wanted by taking his name. That was 30 years ago. It works.

My fiance won't marry me unless I completely clear out my $10K debt, is that a valid reason?
S/he might contend that s/he is forcing you to be a better person but I would beware. I would see this as a sign that s/he will be controlling and be forever trying to change you, to mold you into his/her image of what they want you to be.
My advice is to tread carefully and not jump into marriage with this person too lightly.

This situation is not sustainable long term. If she has pain, even the thought of sex might be a turn-off. So, help her find a solution but she's got to be a willing participant. As much as you love her, she's got to show some love for you.

Why do woman and men pretend that they are happy in their marriages? Can you stay with a person when you have no love for them..What keeps you in your marriage?
Building a life together for 5, 10 or more years is hard to just up and walk away from. By then, you probably have kids, a house, debt, cars, on and on. You realize it's not only cheaper to keep her - it's for the best. So, most people just try to keep working on the marriage, even if they need counseling or some other help. She fell in love with him once, which means it can happen.

Answer to:
Is it ethical to stay in a marriage after love is dead?
Love can definitely die - that's why 50% of marriages end in divorce. If you're not careful, marital love can die and love for someone else can blossom. Once that happens, it's very hard to get back to where you were.
The right thing to do is to #1 - work your heart out to keep it alive, and #2 - if it has died, work even harder to revive it, especially if there are...

Is being attracted to someone else (e.g. at work) cheating? We started strictly avoiding each other once we realized there was a mutual attraction but the attraction still exists.
No, to cheat you actually have to do something: talk to her, email her, IM her, meet her for lunch, spend Tuesday afternoons at a hotel, some kind of contact.
Being attracted to somebody at work can be an involuntary reaction, unless you're purposely hanging out in her cube. It sounds like you're doing everything humanly possible to avoid having an affair.
