The most VALUABLE thing that is kept in my closet (during the day) is a soft, white blanket. At night, I wrap myself in it. It's warm and comforting...I have it wrapped around me right now. I have no idea what the most expensive thing in my closet is.

Most people place a plastic liner on the ground and then the quilt on top--this will avoid grass stains as well. I'm curious as to why you would consider the shower curtain as the batting and not the backing. I don't know how your idea will work out, but if you try it, please post...

If you want the square to measure 6-1/2" with a 1/4" seam allowance then each square of the 9 patch should be cut 2-5/12" (which allows for the 1/4" seam allowance). If what you want is the 6" square with 1/4" seam allowance, then cut each of the 9 patch blocks...
