Personally, I like them a lot more than velcro. I use retractable pens every day, but I rarely use velcro. And often when I do use something with velcro, I wish it had a button instead so it wouldn't make noise in quiet places.

Sounds to me like you need to invest in an alarm clock. Granted, it wouldn't tell you why it was going off, but it would let you know you needed to be done with AB for a while.

Definitely the boss. You never assume that someone received communication unless they verified the fact. It's the bosses responsibility to make sure communication is received.

I don't think so. It seems like that would be the most miserable day I could possibly have with them. All I would be thinking about is how many hours are left before they're gone again.

That would seem fair, wouldn't it? Good teachers already work crazy hard for relatively small salaries; it would be rather rude to expect them to do more without compensation. Though, I'm not sure expecting them to do more is a good idea either way.
