Answer to:
Who wrote the Star Wars series originally, and when?
Since there seems to be some doubt as to the fact that Star Wars was completely born of George Lucas (and not taken from a Star Wars paper series) I have found more links to help this discussion along. This is a quote from a fan mail answer from George Lucas:
How did you come up Star Wars especially with the words light saber, Jedi, Wookiee, Yoda, etc. Star Wars ROCKS MY WORLD! THANK YOU...

My cat laps her water with her paw. She gets fresh water every day but I am concerned that there may be some litterbox water issues. Should I worry?
I agree with the fact that the cat is perfectly fine putting its own paw in its water. Nothing to worry about...
I dissagree with the fact that cats' paws are extremely clean in general. There is a bacteria on a cat's claws that is so detrimental to humans that it causes what is called 'Cat Scratch Fever' - a severe flu-like illness. This bacteria is also dangerous to...

We have a 10 month old spayed kitten and she has been, not really humping, but getting happy with a stuffed dog we have. How do we stop this behavior other than getting rid of the toy?
her humping actually has nothing to do with sexual arousal. When a female animal humps something (spayed or not) it is a sign of dominance. Your kitten is telling her stuffed dog that she is in charge! Its very normal and removing the stuffed animal might work, but its more likely that she will simply find something else to take control over.

My 4 month old cat sucks on his toes. Why does he do this, and can it harm his paws?
Cats are very habit natured. It may be a soothing thing to him, but usually harmless. I recommend keeping an eye on the toes and making sure he has no fur loss, redness or swelling. He could develope what is called a 'Hot Spot' which means there is so much licking that fur is removed, skin is cracking or swelling and it can become infected. As long as you do not see any of those...
Answer to:
Why does my male cat nip the air and go wild when I scratch the base of his spine?
Believe it or not, the cat is trying to 'help'. They can reach that area, but it is more difficult for them. All cats do this. Its completely normal, and even if he seems like he may even bite you while you scratch - he's just saying 'oh that feels good..here let me help too!" :)

Our dog chews used tampons and menstrual pads. Is this normal?
This is very normal. You also have to keep soiled underwear out of reach of household doggies - I've lost quite a few pair to my own pooch! :)
Answer to:
Why does my dog drag its butt across the carpet or floor?
Dogs may some times have an itchy rear... but in that case they attempt to turn around and chew on it.
This is either a sign of clogged anal glands (if it is a small dog) or most likely worms (hook, round or whip worms) ...either way this dog should be examined and treated by the vet.

My female German/Australian shepherd mix often mounts male dogs she likes. What does this mean?
Mounting does not always indicate sexual arousal. Most often it shows dominance. Hence, females can feel they need to dominate male dogs in their area.

How can I stop a dream?
Every person is different, but I can share the trick my psychology professor taught me while in the middle of my psych degree:
Before you go to bed, find something very red. An apple, a scarf, a shoe, anything vibrantly red. Directly before going to sleep you should stare at the item and keep thinking, this red is real. Once you are asleep, your dream should contain something red. A stop sign,...

An ex-boyfriend owes me over $4000. He currently pays $100/mo. If I go to a lawyer and have his debt repayment "put in writing", will that protect me if he files for bankruptcy?
From what I have read, the ONLY debt that bankruptcy does not erase is a Student Loan. His debt would be removed just as debt to credit companies or bank loans. Not to mention, a lawyer can write it up for you, but unless the ex-boyfriend signs it - it is just a scrap of paper that you paid far too much for. If the ex is willing to sign a loan agreement, just type it up yourself. . Even a hand...

My dog has a few lumps that are about the size of a small coin. They dont seem to be irritating her, but they do sometimes leak a water-like liquid and a little bit of blood if she rubs them. What are these lumps?
Most likely they are cysts. They could be harmless, or they could be malignant. Its important that you take your dog to your vet and have them check visually. They may be able to identify it in that simple way - but very likely they will want to take a biopsy of the liquid coming from the lumps to check for cancer. Either way - you should definetely take him to the veterinarian.

If I provide alcohol at a party at my home and someone gets into a car accident because of it, am I legally responsible?
Very true answer... or atleast the law should make sure of that. However, there have been cases in the past where either the victim of the drunken crash, or a spouse of the victim placed a lawsuit on the person that provided the alcohol. I remember one well known case where the defendant was a bartender in a pub or club of some kind. He had to pay restitution to the deceased's family after...
Answer to:
If kids suck their thumbs at an early age, are they more likely to bite their nails when they grow older?
There is no way to tell if thumb sucking will lead to nail biting - however - a bigger problem to consider is the fact that prolonged thumb sucking will warp the line of the top teeth and very possibly cause a curved over bite. Many parents now think it is better for a child to suck their thumb than to have a pacifier - but the fact still remains, when the child gets too old to have that habit...

How do I know if my tongue piercing is infected? How do I get rid of the infection and prevent it from becoming infected again?
What ever you do DO NOT TAKE OUT THE BAR!!!! If you take out the bar the infection will seal up inside your tongue and become much worse!
Mine became infected after having it for 5 years because I increased my guage without soaking the bar. My tongue swelled again and became sore and my throat down into my neck became painful. I rinsed my mouth with warm salt water atleast 3 times a day,...

I'm having surgery soon, and I have several cartilage piercings that have to be removed prior to surgery. Some of the earrings are not ready to come out yet, what can I place in the holes to keep them open?
Ask your Dr. if you can use a small piece of fishing line. It is invisible and non-reactive. I use it in my eyebrow piercing when at work. (but no matter what you use - rinse it in salt water before putting it in!)

Answer to:
Is any kind of painkiller used before a body piercing is performed?
When I had my tongue pierced, they used aerosol Novocaine which worked very well. I felt nothing. But when they did my eyebrow there was nothing applied before hand. They don't always advertise the option. Sometimes you have to ask and they will let you know. It does, however, cost extra.

I am trying to get custody of my two year old son. I work, go to school and have a strong bond with him. His mother doesn't work, lives with her parents and has two drug charges. What are my chances of winning in TX?
Unfortunately I knew a man going through the same ordeal as you. In Texas sole custody is frowned on no matter who is asking for it, be it the father or mother. Texas laws are designed to keep both the father and mother responsible for their children. Unless you can PROVE she is an unfit mother by court standards, the most you can hope for from a Texas judge is joint custody.
Answer to:
Is there anyway to get rid of small bumps that appear on the forehead?
One thing that works very well for me is calamine lotion. If you catch the bumps before they turn into full acne, then the calamine lotion acts as a drying agent and shrinks the bumps down. Apply one dab to each bump with your fingertip before bed. Leave over night and rinse off any remaining cream with cold water in the morning.

What is a coolie jacket?
I'm not quite sure why this is in the fashion section lol but a coolie jacket is an insulating cover that you put your drink bottle or can in. Most often used for beer.
They are made out of foam and often have a zipper on the side to fit snuggly around your beverage and keep it cold.

Answer to:
Who wrote the Star Wars series originally, and when?
There was no paper series of Star Wars until George Lucas created the films. The confusion about this stems from the fact that once the subsequent movies have now come out, fans and officials are calling the original movie "Star Wars: New Hope" so you may find sites that claim that is 'the book the series is based on' ... but its not. It simply refers to the original movie....

Why did Vincent van Gogh cut off his ear?
So many variations! I was taught in college that there was no interesting story behind it at all. It is heavily speculated, and taught in Art Colleges world wide, that he had a seizure disorder. He had an episode one day while shaving, lost control of his motor skills and sliced PART of his ear off... completely by accident.

Most often the alcohol is absent once the dish is done, however there is no guarentee. There are several variations.
