With some forms of copy protection, the CD will not play in a standard computer CD-ROM drive. One of them, "Key2Audio" technology, can be defeated by scribbling around the rim of a disk with a felt-tip marker. As I've never tried this, I recommend using a dry-erase type marker....

I've seen similar problems on other cars. It is probably the switch - dirt/dust gets in there and allows moisture to get mixed into the grease. When the resulting gunk freezes it can cause intermittent failures. You could replace the switch or clean it with contact cleaner. Btw, that...

I lean toward a Tiplerian Omega Point state for the ultimate fate of the universe. Where conscious entities (like us) are able through, what we currently call computing power, to capture awareness and manipulate time to create a utopian environment where everyone who has ever lived may exist.

actually, not Princess Oprah. I believe it is Liliane Bettencourt, of L'Oreal and Nestly fame; at 20.7 Billion. by comparison, Oprah is about a tenth of that with 2.5 Billion (the richest Black woman).

Yes, this symptom will occur if the drive isn't getting enough power. This could be a problem with the power supply, or the drive itself (something internally wrong such that it seeks more power than is available). Try first to find a compatible power supply, secondly, if that...

About a dozen things. The car is probably in "limp mode" Best bet is to drive it to a garage that can pull and read the event codes from the car's computer; that will pinpoint the issue.

Sorry to say, but this could be lots of things. worst case: cracked block best case: an leak you haven't found - try leaving a big piece of cardboard under the car and focusing on the area above the leak. Also, is it leaking water, or antifreeze/coolant? because you shouldn't...

It is also possible there is a signal lamp out (near the one that's staying on - in some cars the symptom you describe is intentional; check your manual.
