ON my 1999 Subaru Forester, the turn signals are dead when I start the car. After it warms up, 10-20 minutes later, the turn signals are fine. This could have something to do with cold weather but I am not sure. What could cause this and how do I fix it I've seen similar problems on other cars. It is probably the switch - dirt/dust gets in there and allows moisture to get mixed into the grease. When the resulting gunk freezes it can cause intermittent failures. You could replace the switch or clean it with contact cleaner. Btw, that it's an interior switch rather than the bulb is the other reason I think it's the switch...

I HAVE A 1999 SUBARU FORESTER. THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS STAY ON EVEN WITH THE IGNITION TURNED OFF. WHAT IS THE CAUSE? It is also possible there is a signal lamp out (near the one that's staying on - in some cars the symptom you describe is intentional; check your manual.

If there is truly no power to that system, you might have a computer problem - you see, really, two things need to fail for what your describing to occur, and this is unusual.
