Answer to:
Does your grocery store have the self-checkout cash registers?
yeah, some of the larger stores have them, but seriously I prefer a person at the cashier 'cos knowing me, I'm likely to get something wrong which will delay me being there, even more so than if i was queuing and having a person serve me!
Answer to:
Why do strangers tell me to smile? What do they care? I honestly don't know what's in it for them, please explain.
Yeah, I get that a lot, and I'm thinking to myself 'what do you care what I do'. I mean, you want me to smile but you're not exactly smiling yourself! Why me and not you?! .. Seriously, I don't know why they do it but I thought I'd add my input.
Answer to:
In the freezing cold what matters more fashion or keeping warm?
Personally, keeping warm as I get cold easily and I cannot stand the cold weather. However, there are a lot of people out there that prefers fashion over keeping warm, and you can tell 'cos they are obviously shivering but they don't care. I think its madness, why put your health at risk?! As someone said, you can be fashionable and keep warm.
Answer to:
If you wear glasses, do you ever sleep with them on?
No, I've never intentionally worn my glasses when sleeping, as I'm sure they be damaged when I wake esp. as I twist and turn in my sleep! However, I may have dose off for a short period when watching tv or something like that.
For what purpose would you wear your glasses when going to sleep anyway, unless, you happen to be drunk or lazy or whatever reason that you still have them...

Answer to:
Are meat-eaters aware of the quality of meat they eat?
Whether the animal is healthy or diseased or is the meat is safe or not.
I guess I'm not, but I assume that if they're sold in the shops then they are safe. I guess the colour of the meat is also a slight giveaway in terms of good or bad, but that's about it. on my part.

Answer to:
Where will i get a proper traditional Salwar Kameez want to gift it to a foreigner friend this Diwali as it should give a indianess feeling, with proper Indian embroidery and should have earth tones as well?
It depends which country you're in. Southall is a great place to go (London). I'm not Asian-Indian (but Asian-Chinese), but I've been there a few times with friends and they have so much choices. Some are OTT but you can get some that are less so, and I've thought of buying some myself in the past! Its also nice place to experience food and culture.

Ladies, which sort of perfume do you prefer, light, heavy, musky, flowery or none.
I don't wear perfume 'cos I've got sensitive skin, but if I did, it'll be light (or anything with a hint of peach)! I really can't stand heavy 'cos its just too much for me. You know that feeling when it chokes you whether you've just walked past someone or standing next to someone that wears heavy, yeah, that's too much.

When you're at a dinner party, do you have any qualms about taking the LAST item on a plate?
Totally, my brain kinda goes overtime, wondering how long has it been on the plate, why is it still on the plate etc. I may be hungry but I'd have second thoughts about taking it.

Answer to:
Do you wear sunglasses, even when the day is not sunny?
I wear a pair of reaction glasses, they tint and gradually darken depending on the sun. I only have the one pair of glasses so I wear them throughtout the whole year, thru Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.
Wearing these reaction glasses has shown me, even when it appears not to be a sunny day, the sun may still want to break free from the clouds. My lenses have tinted which indicates there...
Answer to:
Do you hate it when people wear sunglasses inside?
I'm gonna have to say no on this one 'cos I have reaction glasses (tints in the sun). For people who don't know, would assume I'm wearing sun-glasses indoors, but I'm not. If I take them off, I can't see, that's why they stay on!

I don't know 'cos I didn't jump when it ran towards me, I just let out a scream instead! I think it was shock in seeing the little thing more than anything else - just didn't expect to see it there.

My question is, are they expecting me? Maybe they're in the toilet or listening to music/watching tv on loud, I would continue knocking for a few minutes, and possibly call up the landline. If there's still no answer I guess I would leave. Can't 'hang' around forever!

Is it sometimes disappointing to see the movie of a book you loved?

Although reviews may not have been great, that's for me to find out for myself as everyone's taste are different afterall...I know I don't actually answer your question but I thought...

I recent survey showed that over one third of Uk homes ask guests to take their shoes off at the door.Is that what you do?
I don't ask but they tend to take their shoes off anyway esp. seeing a pile of shoes by the doorway. And if they did ask I'd say "its up to you".
I remember the days when I just walked into peoples' houses and kept my shoes on. The first time I was asked to take my shoes off, it felt odd but its out of habit now. It makes sense to take off shoes, you don't want...
Answer to:
Could i mail a package without writing my info outside the envelop or the box? except the recipient?
In the UK, you could easily mail a small package without writing your name and addy on it, but the reason for doing so is, what if the item didn't get sent properly (lost or damaged in transit)? What if the person wasn't home (say on holiday) and it got sent to the depot and they didn't pick it up within 2-3wks, the postmen wouldn't have any idea where to return it to, then...

Answer to:
Is getting your head shaved fun?
I don't know about fun, but hey, gotta try something at least once in your live, not that I'm gotta try it any time soon!
I've also heard that getting your head shaved will enable thicker growth, that is if you're not liking the situation at the moment.
Answer to:
Do you usually blow dry or air dry your hair?
I prefer to air dry my hair 'cos my hair is so dry already and I don't like the heat on it. However, there are exceptions - I do tend to blow dry it if I've washed it late in the day and its not dried by the time I retire to bed (I was brought up not to sleep with wet hair). I also tend to have it blowed dry when I'm in the salon (which is 2-3 times a year).

Have you ever given up a seat in a crowded bus/train etc. to an elderly/infirm person and had them refuse it?
I offered my seat to an elderly gentleman on a crowded train. He refused, but I think he was old-fashioned in his way. Maybe he was thinking if anyone should've offered him their seat it should've been another young man and not a woman!
I'm only embarrassed about this type of situation is when I had offered my seat to someone (elderly or whatever) and they refuse, but people...

You know when you're in the middle of a conversation and somebody else is talking and you desprately want to cut in, but for the sake of politeness, you just stay quiet? then somebody speaks the second u want to..doesnt that drive you crazy?
Drives me crazy. In the end, I'd either think 'forget it' or just say what I have to say anyway. But the problem with that is, sometimes it makes me feel the moment is gone, else its irrelevant.
The thing is, I've got a quiet voice, so I guess I just gotta raise my voice a little. Don't be shy and just come out with it. Say what I've gotta say regardless. If its...

Sometimes I ask people to repeat themselves, sometimes I pretend I've heard them when I hadn't. The only problem with the latter is, when I hadn't heard them (and thinking the conversation will end), they prob on about it. But, how can I continue the conversation when I don't know what we're talking about! Yeah, it can be a problem then. The only thing I can do then is...

What was your favourite part/quote of Breaking Dawn? Some of mine are "she wishes she was that cool!"-Jacob and "can you please tell Jane to stop attacking my wife?"-Edward.
Some parts that really put a smile on my face as I was reading:

Edward talking to his daughter Renesmee "...not to bit Charlie 'cos he won't heal like Jacob..." And "No, I don't care if you bit Jacob. That's fine"

How many times do you read the same book? I know lots of people who read a book only once, but I keep most to read again someday.
Never. And this is the reason I don't buy books anymore 'cos I don't want to waste my money! I used to keep books on the shelves at home but it just sat there collecting dust and nothing else. In the end, I donated them to charity/local library to create space.
If I find I really want to read a book, I wouldn't buy it, instead I would wait until my library has it in stock!

Answer to:
Would you read a book if the last pages are missing?
Probably not. Why read a book and not know the ending, what's the point?! Its not likely you can guess the ending, and even if you do guess, its not likely to be correct. If I read a book, I'd like to know the full story from start to finish. And its not the same hearing it second hand either.

The last time I ate crab was Chinese New Year's Eve - gathering of family, lotsa dishes. A bit messy, but yummy!
I don't really like lobster, too rubbery for me (but I suppose it depends how its been cooked). As for steak, I remember ordering it as a dish in France (back in 2002) when I wore braces at the time. My teeth were so weak, I couldn't even chew it properly. It...

Possibly 'cos they're eating and can't be bother to exit the room just to blow their nose.
If you're on your own, its okay to do so at the dinner table, but if there's company, they should consider other people's feelings. At least I excuse myself to the toilet or corridor. Its a disgusting habit and one shouldn't be put thru such noise and things.

Never. Although, when I was waiting for the tube one day, the person next to me had a nice pair of trainers which I liked. I did compliment her. Actually, they were similar to mine, Nike navy and yellow whereas mine where Nike navy and orange.
I tend to compliment someone not when they're on the move but stationed, like we're both waiting in line for something, for example.

Right now, the guy sitting in front of me in library has in headphones on high and I can hear his music clearly. I'm trying to do my study but he is just pissing me off. What should I say to him?
I think your best bet is not to approach the guy yourself (as some people can get aggressive or argumentative). Instead, approach the librarian and ask them to have a word with them. He might respond better if its coming from a staff member as oppose to a public person like himself.

I'd have to say loose jeans (although i prefer bootcut). I cannot understand how people manage to get into tight jeans and esp. in the hot summer, isn't it uncomfortable?! Even when i pick up a pair of skinnys by accident, i can't even get them thru my calfs and i'm already pulling them off, and sometimes struggling to do so!

Why do doctors require you to be at your appointment 15-20 minutes early and then you and up waiting and additional 20 to 30 minutes to see the doctor?
totally, that's why i tend to get morning appointments nowadays as you're more likely to be seen on time, although not always the case. I have known to wait over 1 hour or more for an appointment and the worse thing is, you're only in there for a minute or two. Its ridiculous, but what can you do, you obviously went there for a problem and needs to be consulted and seen to......
Answer to:
When making an appointment to see a doctor, what time of day do you prefer to be seen?
Generally mid-morning or beyond 'cos i'm not a morning person, but due to work and everything its better in the morning 'cos i find that morning appointments tend to keep to their schedule more (although not always the case). Also, morning tends to have less patients hence less crowd and more seats!

Are you a lover of sales, or do you shop when you need, for what you need?
I like the sales but I'm not a great fan of it. In terms of clothing, the worse thing is, is seeing items you like but not in your size or I don't like the colour (there's no way I'm buying it just 'cos the price is down and it fits, the colour is also important to me!).
I have so much clothes already I guess you can say would I need anymore, but you can never have...

Define ugly? ... How you see something (whether it be a person, object, or whatever) is different from person to person. To you, someone may be ugly but to another they are beautiful, so i guess in your case, yes some women find 'ugly' men attractive.

Preferably call first. I might be busy or about to go out.
I remember once when i was at uni. It was near exam times and I was obviously revising at home. The door bell rang. I wasn't expecting anyone and guess who it was, a student friend...The worst thing was, she'd seen me now so I can't exactly say i'm not it. Invited her in and revised together. People who wear glasses: when you are taking pictures do you keep your glasses on or take them off?
A bit of both. You see, my glasses have reactions on them, and on a sunny (sometimes not so sunny) day, they react to the sun and turn shades (grey). Depending how i am feeling and how i think it would make to the picture, i would decide then whether to take glasses off or not.
Before reactions though, i didn't take off my glasses for pictures, i kept them on, even when i went to...

Generally i do and esp if they're right behind me or a few steps behind. But, i do hate it when i'm holding the door and its obvious i'm doing so, yet some people (able bodied) do take their time to reach the door. That pisses me off.

Did you have your own room as a child, or did you have to share with a sibling?
Shared with a sibling. It was fine when i was a child, but it continued into my teens and i really wanted my own privacy - didn't happen... You see, we lived in a 3-bed flat - parents got their own, my bro got his own so i guess it was only right to stick the 2 girls together, and so you have it.

A job that you love...
Obviously things don't always work out the way that one wants. And a lot can depend upon the circumstances you may be facing for the reason you are in a job that you dislike. I believe many people are already in this situation but if it pays the bills, what else can you do? One has to survive! Luckily i enjoy my work:)

My brain is quite good with things like that, i tend to remember people's birthday with ease esp. people i have known for a long time. Else, i write it down in a diary or something similar.

Why do you think it is that people have soooo much trouble remembering birthdays?
I think people of today just have too much things to remember ie pin no's, passwords etc that dates and numbers just get confusing. Totally agree with you there, that's why its quite good to ask a friend to come along, but someone who would give you an honest opinion. Its no point having a friend who would just say "that's a nice pair" to everything you try on!
The fact that you can't distinguish what suits you or not, it is quite surprising when the final product is produced don't you...

Can you describe your boss in one word?
one word is not enough!
Answer to:
Are you able to understand what your boss wants?
Not really (and i speak for my colleagues as well)... She says one thing but she means something else, even though we do as she had stated. Regardless of the time spent on it, if she doesn't like it, you'll have to do it again. I've learnt my lesson, so everytime she asks for something done, i have to question her!!!
Answer to:
I overheard a co-worker on the phone saying how she didn't like the boss. Should I tell the boss and get her fired?
No! What you hear in the work place esp if it doesn't concern you should go in one ear and out the other... There is so much talk (gossip) that goes on in the work place, are you seriously telling me you would report back to everyone to tell them who said what?! You'll be an even bigger gossiper than the gossipee. A real grass and real hater.
Could you really hate your co-worker...

How long ago was your last eye test? How long did you wait for your new Glasses?
that's easy, my last test was a few days ago and my optician said there's not much changes, if anything, a slight improvement on my left eye. Hence no need to get a new pair. Brilliant, save me a bit of dosh.
Answer to:
How often do you have your eyes tested?
once every two years as recommended by my optician... once i made the mistake of not going and boy did my eye sight worsen.
Answer to:
Do you find that your vision getting better or worse?
better, but only ever so slightly. i wouldn't have realised this but i recently had my eyes tested and that's what they told me! Well, that's good new - that means i can keep my existing glasses rather than having to spend more on a new pair.
Answer to:
Does wearing glasses cause blindness?
what?!?! They don't cause blindness, but what i think it is, is maybe you getting confused with the fact that some people's sight has worsened or become more blurred hence vision is near blindness... Over time cos the person with glasses has gotten used to wearing them, and they rely on them so much, that some people are unable to see without them.

Right ear only cos i think i'm a little deaf on the left! I rarely switch ears unless i've been on the phone too long and its red and uncomfortable... I'm right-handed, and even if i need to write, i'll still have the phone to my right ear but i just cross over with my left hand to hold onto the phone!

Not suicidal but it was quite stressful knowing i had to do it and i couldn't get out of it. The thought that everybody has to do it (unless you have a good enough reason), yet some people could be called more than once, whereas others never get to be called at all. How fair is that?!

When they start earning money. To begin with, they don't have to give too much away, but something towards any household payments would be appreciated. If i'm at work, i'd explain the situation and get a colleague to answer it. Funnily enough, if this was the case, whether the colleague answers it or i decide to ignore it, its usually someone other than the wrong caller and they'll ask why didn't i pick up the phone!?

I don't think you are required to do anything, its really the problem of the previous owner(s) to inform whoever of any changes. Of course, it just depends how annoying you eventually get and whether you are willing to do something about it or not. With some friends, I still call them on their home number, after a certain time they are generally in. How many days after the expiry date is it still safe to eat yogurt?
I don't know, but generally if things are passed its sell by date, its straight in the bin esp. dairy products. I don't wanna take any chances. Some people are more sensitive than others.

Can you live without your microwave?
At home we're doing just that. We had one, but my bro took it away. He said he'll buy a replacement, but we haven't heard about it since! Its not convenient, but we just have to make do for the time being. And I guess over time, you just get used to it.

If its one of those frozen ones from the supermarket, yes 'cos they're really slim and not much toppings. But from the pizza place, only a small one. I guess it'll have to depend how hungry I was.

If someone has a slight food allergy, is that person stupid to eat it anyway?
Everyone is different when it comes to food allergies, some people react more severely than others. If its a mild reaction and the person loves to eat the food they're allergic too, yeah they will continue to do so, but personally, I wouldn't risk it. Who's to say you're always gonna be lucky?! You never know.

I just got a job that pays weekly. I've never been paid every week before. Would you rather get paid, weekly, bi weekly or every month?
When I was temping a few years back, I got paid a week in arrears (you work this week, get paid the following week), that was convenient, but I found money seemed to be spent more quickly. Since I got my permanent job, I've been paid at the end of the month. It needed getting used to it at first, but I prefer it now. I spend less 'cept for the regular bills and stuff.

He probably does 'cos its written on the package or the order form, but they rarely address you by name. And if they need to buzz the intercom to get into the building they usually just say "you have a package or delivery".

What are the dots or asterisks at the bottom of one page in a book?

Answer to:
When giving presents, are you a gift wrapper or a gift bag type of person?
Gift wrapper. I actually like the process of wrapping gifts up although I'm not fuzzy about things like ribbons, bows or anything fancy like that. I do hate a bad wrapper though. Its not exactly rocket science, but some people just can't get the hang of it, can they?!

Answer to:
Do you make an effort not to touch the handle on an escalator?
Sometimes I don't hold on to the handle until it gets half way up or if the escalator is particularly long. I tend to hold on just in case something should happen, for example, an emergency stop, or the person in front may slip and fall onto me! Sometimes, at certain stations, there are buskers/light entertainment, and I would hold on to get a better view. Sometimes, but not always.

I don't see why not, 'cos I do it!
Usually, I tend to give things I don't want to charity shops, but more recently I have started to re-gift items. Knowing it is going to a good home is better than sitting at the back of your wardrobe or being thrown in the bins.

I usually say to people I'm going to the ladies.

For people whose English is not fluent, I also use the word toilet.

Answer to:
Do you get upset when you see people put back items they don't want in any place in the market? (For example, fresh meat or fish, milk, etc., on the shampoo shelf or other non-refrigerated section...)
I wouldn't say I get upset, I just think people are so inconsiderate. It doesn't actually take much of your time to put things back in its rightful place. If its things like meat and fish, wouldn't they go off? And to see things like sanitary towels in the food dept just look so unhygienic even though its packaged.

What do you think about the stores starting to charge for papper and plastic bags if you shop there and they will not be free anymore?
I think its a good idea. People will learn to bring their own, or use less of it. And since its free at the moment, I tend to grap more than I need in case the bag splits, but at least I recycle my plastic bags as garbage bags, whereas most people would usually throw them away. I'm not sure about increasing your speed over night, but you sure need practice, and lots of it. Just be familiar with the keys and practice touch typing. I don't like it too tight whereby it'll leave a marking on the skin. But then again, I don't like it too loose because it'll end up falling up the arm if, for example I'm reaching for items on the top shelf, or I need to reach the handle on the bus/tube etc.

Do you think it's time to get rid of the formal dress code?
I think it depends where you work. If in your job you're kinda representing the company, like a receptionist or manager then No. Also, in a high power job, say an accountant, lawyer or whatever, you want to show you are capable and responsible, 'cos I believe, like an interview, first impression counts.

I was bullied when I was younger - I was a lot quieter so I hardly talk back, but that's not me anymore. It doesn't matter whether its being bullied now or when you were younger, its not a nice experience to go through and I just wish people would just stop being so cruel.

Answer to:
Have you ever ignored a knock at the door from visitors or friends, and pretended you were not a home?
I always ignore knocks from the door especially if I'm not expecting anyone. Many times, I've opened the door and they're sales people, churchgoers or someone else that has no interest to me, and I can't seem to choo them away. Therefore, to avoid this I just look through the peep-hole first.

I used to answer it all the time, but I regret it afterwards 'cos they're usually sales people, churchgoers or something like that, and they don't interest me. That's why, I usually peep thru the peep-hole just to double check who it is. Does wearing eyeglasses worsen your eyesight over time?
I think so. Although by wearing glasses its suppose to help you see, i think when one wears them all the time, they rely on them, hence your eyes are adjusted to that prescription. So, when you take your glasses off, everything becomes a blur and you can't see anything.
