Do you think there might be a fine line between genius and insanity? Take Tesla for instance.
The difference between genius and insanity is having a witness.
Say a guy came in the room ranting about blue men who were running around the streets...
His story is crazy.
Say a second guy came in 5 minutes later and said the same thing...
Now his story is valid.
Tesla and Einstein were 'crazy' because their intellect was so superior that having a witness was extremely...

The people that I've known who have killed themselves were of the first group. No one had a clue that anything was wrong. They didn't make a big deal of their troubles, they didn't talk about...

Inorder for Miranda rights to be in effect you have to be arrested, however, I learned that if I was not formally arrested but in a custodial situation where I was deprived of my freedom then they should come into affect. What are your opinions on this?
When you are arrested, you are detained or served for the purpose of charging you with a violation of a written law, and giving you a trial in court.
The miranda rights are read so that you KNOW that when you're arrested (see above definition) that you have the right to remain silent or your words will be used against you in court.

Answer to:
Is being Cocky attractive?
I'm confident, and I push cocky sometimes. Girls EAT it up. They love it. You have to do it in a fun or funny way, though... you can't seriously be arrogant and expect the same results.
So, yes... Done properly, cocky is attractive. Now will a girl admit that? Not usually. But that has no affect on my success, so take my words or leave them.

I have just baked Toffee Cookies with my son, now that they have cooled they seem to be quite hard.. what did i do wrong? Im sure they were supposed to be kinda chewy!
They cook too long?
The condition they're in when you pull them from the oven isn't always the condition they're in when they're cooled.
I imagine they still do some internal cooking after you pull them, so the earlier you pull them, the softer they'll be.

How can I get rid of a hangover?
Don't drink so much the night before. Hangover is the result of alcohol that has 'hung over' in your system from the previous night.
I heard of a doctor that pumped his own stomach to avoid hangovers... I don't recommend making yourself throw up, but remember the days when you couldn't hold your alcohol like you can now? Never got hangovers because you puked it...

Can I use a speaker line from the output of one Onkyo receiver as the input to a second receiver (in a different room with a piece of pre-run speaker wire) so that I can sync up the sounds from the first (e.g., if I am playing a DVD)?
Only if you wire it in parallel. It's the voltage across the line that you need to keep in tact, and putting it in parallel will be the only way to do so.
If you wire it in serial, you will split your voltage drop across both loads and the sound will be half as quiet.

Who, today, really has to wait for anything anymore? This is the age of instant gratification.
Do you recall a time when dinner was cooking and your stomach growled for an hour while you smelled it and you had to wait to eat it?

Does the size of an animals nose determine its range of smell. could an elephant smell farther than a deer? a dog verses a bobcat?
Smelling involves being able to pick scented particles from the air.
I would imagine that an animal with a larger nose may have more recepticles, but are they more sensitive?
They say that a dog's nose is one of the most sensitive noses around.. I would think that the number of recepticles versus the sheer size of the nose would come more into play as far as smelling goes.

Left a bottle of extra virgin olive oil my car...... it froze will this have an adverse effect
Freezing is simply the attaching of hydrogen atoms from water molecules to other hydrogen atoms from other water molecules.
When you thaw it, the bonds release and everything moves back to a normal speed. I don't see how that would adversely affect the composition of the olive oil.
Shake it up, though, because it may have disturbed the mixture.

When you speed up a record player, does the pitch of the notes go up? If it does, why? It seems intuitive enough, but I'm looking for a technical answer.
The "pitch" of a sound is determined by how many times per second it vibrates back and forth... It's called "Frequency"
The higher the frequency, the higher the pitch.
When you speed a record up, you are increasing the frequency, therefore increasing the pitch.

I have a alpine bridgeable power amp 3541. (2 channel stereo mode=2x100w max) what would be the best matching sized speaker?.(eg.max power handling in watts.) whats not enough or too much in power handling to suit this amp?
It's not the wattage so much as the Impedance you have to worry about in matching speakers with amplifiers.

"I am not young enough to know everything." Does age increase or decrease intelligence? Or is it not intelligence, but awareness? what do you think?
It's not your intelligence that gets you closer to "knowing all things," but it is experience (that comes with age) that increases your knowledge.
You can be intelligent and not be knowledgeable about things.
But you can't be expierienced and not have knowledge of things.

Let them compete. They're going to for the rest of their lives, and you're not going to stop it.
One thing you SHOULDN'T do is take sides. They'll start competing to get you to side with them, but you should let them work out their own problems/fights/competitions on their own. Be there to moderate and support them both, but stay out of the fight.

The temperature gauge of my 2001 Nissan Sentra GXE sometimes shows the engine to be overheated. The needle starts rising pretty fast and most of the times it comes down by it self again. I checked the coolant level and it seems to be OK. What is wrong?
Your thermostat may be sticking. When the engine reaches a certain temperature, the thermostat opens and lets the coolant cool down the engine. Then the thermostat closes again to let the engine heat back up.

What is a good mountain bike for a woman height 5'4". I have looked at a Trek 4500 (women's) and a Specialized Myko elite (women's)...
Any tips?
it is for light-moderate mountain biking
The brand or model of a mountain bike will not affect the size. You'll need to go by the measurement of the top tube. On mountain bikes it's usually in inches, and on road bikes it's in centimeters.
Say, for example, my mountain bike is a 24" bike. My road bike is a 52cm bike. I'm 6'1"
If you're going to be serious about mountain biking, then...

You need to know the Impedence of each speaker, and the possible Impedances of the amplifier.
Then you need to know the Maximum Power Transfer Ratio and how Impedances differ when you wire them in parallel or series.
If you don't match your impedance, you will blow either the amp or the speakers.

What does the clock speed of the processor mean i have a 64*2 4000+ processor and want to upgrade it to a 64*2 5200+
A clock speed is the frequency at which a processor processes. A Hertz is equal to '1 cycle per second'
So a 5.2 GigaHertz processor can process 5.2 billion 1's or 0's per second. The higher this number is, the faster your computer 'computes.'
Whether you can upgrade or not depends on if your motherboard was designed to accommodate your new processor.

Have you ever said you would hang out with someone but just ended up not being able to? Did the other person get mad at you? :( I feel so bad. Please tell me your stories if you have.
Stuff happens. If someone can't understand that, and they MAKE you feel bad, then it's not right, and your relationship (whatever it may be) should be evaluated.
However, if you just feel bad because you're one of those people who feel guilty over every little thing, then it's probably gonna go this way a lot with most everyone, so don't worry so much about it.

Yes it should be a package deal, but he shouln't be expected to fall in love with two people at the exact same moment.
It takes time, and bonding, and playing, and comforting, and being-there-for, and being-appreciated-for-being-there-for, before a guy and a child really bond. And what if the child has an attachment to his biological father?
Then the child could be wary of a bond...

It depends on if the subwoofer jack in your television is just the crossed over bass signal, or if it is the amplified crossed over bass signal.
If the sound is REALLY low when you plug your subwoofer up to it, then you'll need to run the signal through an amplifier first, then to the speaker.

The internet is more than just a novelty anymore. It is a tool that a lot of people use. A lot more people than when internet dating first earned its reputation with newspaper personals and 900 numbers.
How is it a problem if you're happy 4 months later? Are you ashamed to tell people you met him on the internet? Well, then I guess you should just dump him so no one will ever know!

Why would a president of a casino tell you that you shouldn't gamble if your are 1) Under 21 2) Have had too much to drink 3) Are depressed? These seem like good reasons to me.
The drunk/depressed is part of a casino's "Responsible Gaming" policy set into effect to 'help' problem gamblers.

Would like to know what credit card companies have insurance to cover damaged items, for ex, if I spill a liquid on my laptop and it needs repairs does the credit card company pay for it?
Usually when an item is damaged by user accident or carelessness (if the user is at fault) no one will assume responsibility because they feel it is the user's.
Now, if you were to buy a laptop and the processor fried because the fan wasn't working, it would be a different story.

I just turned 18 and am involved with a male that is 15 years old. I live in Missouri, and nothing sexual is going on, but can I be turned in for dating someone 3 years younger?? What if it does turn sexual down the road?
You're legally entitled to do as you want. As long as the 15 yr old's parents consent, you can see each other and date.
Be careful, though, not just of things 'sexual,' but of 'Indecent Liberties.' I would think that kissing--if it got overly heated--could be considered Indecent Liberties and you could get some serious trouble your way.
Funny how a week...

If your are a witness of a crime and do not want to confess can you be prosecuted?
If it is proved that you knew a crime was going to be committed, or knew a crime already was committed, you would be what's called an "Accessory to the fact" either before or after the crime.
Often, being an Accessory carries the same charges as the actual crime its self.

Do you think faith should be respected? Why or why not?

Not respecting someone's faith, whether you shared it or not, would be an infringement in my opinion.

If you're going there by choice, and you can leave at will, then coming out would be less impacting, I would think.
If you're forced to go there, then you need to weigh the follow against each other:
1. How badly do I want to come out?
2. How badly do I want to face the possible negativity of being forced to go somewhere people are going to treat me differently because of...

Anyone please tell me which component in the motherboard will overheat and cause the system to reset itself ( just like pressing reset button ) after 10 minutes of graphics usage or after 1 hour of normal usage. The motherboard is Zebronic
An overheating processor will definitely power the computer off.
If it takes 10 minutes, then SOME amount of heat is being dissipated, so check your sinks/fans for solid connection to what they're cooling.

Sharing a smoked cigarette? There's nothing sterilizing the tip, so you will contact germs from the saliva of the last person who took a drag.
Opening the pack and letting someone pull a cigarette out to smoke themselves, I'm sure is a lot less likely--as the only germs they might get are ones from your fingers as you pulled an adjacent cigarette out.

Well, of course it was the ALCOHOL that made him cheat. That sneaky drink! Always just sneaks up into your cup and forces its way into your stomach! Once it gets there, you can't expect to be held responsible.
And of course, he feels so bad now that he's going to stop drinking from this day on because he's realized that alcohol has proven its self detrimental to his life.

When ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) is turned on, the computer is treated simply as the gateway to the internet, regardless of what type of connection you're running.
If your PS3 and Xbox360 can communicate with your computer through the LAN, then theoretically, you should be able to share the dialup connection.

What is a better plan? Going to a community college first after high school and get your academic classes out of the way and then go to a 4 year college course to just focus on your major or not? What do you prefer? Whats cheaper?
I went to a Community College for my general, and this is what I observed...
The professors seemed brighter, more determined to teach and help you learn, more friendly and less arrogant...
Maybe it's because they can teach on the same level with University Professors, but I guess money isn't their biggest factor in their job-life, so they opt to work in an environment where...

Whats the best way to pay off college expenses? My plan right now is to get the most financial aid I can, then go for scholarships and lastly come up with the difference in student loans. Is that a good plan? Got any better suggestions?
Debt is rarely a good thing, so yes... Make sure Student Loan is last on your list of options.
Your plan sounds pretty good if, like Dirigo mentioned, you can make money with your degree, the loans shouldn't be too bad.

Describe the change of water to ice
In water, there are water molecules made of two Hydrogens attached to one Oxygen (H2O).
In liquid form, the water molecules vibrate naturally back and forth... called Kinetic energy. When you lower the temperature of anything, its molecules start to slow down... or it loses Kinetic energy.
At the slower rates, those two Hydrogens in each water molecule begin to attract the Hydrogens...

The speedometer and horn stopped working in my 2002 escort. what could it be? sensor? how do I replace?
Have you checked all the fuses in your fusebox? Also, are the two problems directly related for sure?
Once, a hole in my muffler burned my speedometer cable in half and it quit working... so maybe the horn has a blown fuse and the speedometer has a bad cable?
Good luck ^_^

How do I work out which components on my computer need to be replaced? It has stopped working
I learned all I needed to know by taking my computers apart and fixing/blowing them up.
I'm now a computer engineer after finding that I had an affinity for computers and decided to go to school to persue it more.
The biggest part of troubleshooting is to remember that everything happens for a number of reasons. When you're testing for different outcomes, make sure you only...

How and when was Bible as we know it created?
This one can't be answered simply.
I had a Word doc on my computer that explained a good bit of the history and state of current affairs during each key translation... how and if politics influenced the translations and printings, and how it was changed over time.
I can't find that document, and I don't have much time right now, but I'll look more thoroughly tomorrow...

Hi, I have 3 PC's that use the same wireless router to access the web and email. I want to be able to use any of the machines to view my email - would buying a NAS and setting the email client(s) to store mail on it work?
That's the problem with POP3, though... It's stored locally on the machine you're on each time you load it.
Have you looked into IMAP? It stores your file on the server and can be viewed from separate machines.
Most ISPs that offer POP3 also offer IMAP.

Do women just not understand that most times guys really don't know what they did? I have seen alot get told " you know what you did", and they have no clue, as guys don't think about stuff like that. Thoughts?
Just say, "Ummm... Of course I know what I did, so which one are you talking about?"

And remember... If it's not a firm, unwavering, direct "No!" to a guy, then to him, it is always a "Maybe."

It's Christmas Eve and my boyfriend just left with a friend to hang out and it's 1:37. He is staying up until like 5, or 6. He gets mad when we hangout and I'm tired. And I know he is going to be tired at my family party tomorrow. Should I be pissed?
But that IS good advice... Decide for yourself... It sounds like this guy can pretty much call the shots. I'll bet he often makes you feel guilty as a tactic to get his way.
YES you should be pissed, and for probably WAY more than just his staying out late on Christmas Eve.

He will have to recognize the need for a change within himself before he settles down.
If he settles down because you want him to, he'll feel he has the right to resent you and hold it over your head for a life-long guilt trip.
I was him at one point. The change HAD to come from within me.

If a 40 yr old man touches a girl, a minor at the time, he didnt rape her but went up her leg, can anything be done when shes not a minor? I witnessed this and my friend isnt sure if saying anything now, a year later would do anything.
There is a thing called a "Statute of Limitations" on all crimes... It's the amount of time you're allowed to let pass before you can no longer charge or be charged with that crime.
In North Carolina, for all felonies, there is NO statute of limitation. I would think most states probably follow suit.
Whether or not you have a case, I didn't think was the...

I'm seeing a 16 year-old LDS girl whom I love, and I am thinking of converting so we can wed in the temple later. She says she can't be as serious and won't think about marriage. Is it bad to consider future marriage at this point?
I won't question the strength of your feelings at your age, so I'll address the question: Should I convert...?
My LDS wife married me even after I told her there was a 99.9% chance I'd never change my Baptist ways... I never planned on joining the church. EVER! But one day, I really felt a pulling inside me to actually investigate the church myself. It had nothing to do...

To petition for emancipation, you need:
1. Certified copy of birth certificate
2. Names and addresses of your parents/guardians, etc
3. Your address and length of residence
4. A stated reason for declaring emancipation
5. A written plan for meeting your own financial needs (like a wages-earned statement)
...and you file the petition with the courts and let them hash it out. I'm...

Can I legally kick my 18 year old son out of my house? Is there a statute that says I have to give him notice like a tenant, even though he is not a tenant? I would think parents should have the right to kick a non rent paying adult child out of the house
Not sure about CO, but in NC, if someone is on your property (where you have deeded in your name) that you don't want there anymore, you have to verbally tell them to leave, then you may call the police and have them removed.

Answer to:
Can an 18 year old sister visit her siblings even if their parents say no?
Right. The question boils down to the siblings' rights as minors, not the sister's rights as an adult.
If they are under 18, the parents call the shots unless they're legally emancipated or married.

Bill Maher said on his show that Mormons believe that the only way a black person can go to heaven is as a slave. Is this true or was he just making a joke?
The United States has had an unfortunate historical record of racism... Don't single out one particular group... I'll bet Catholic/Protestant/Mormon/Everyone used the black/white bathroom in 1957.

Latter Day Saints believe that the Authorities and Priesthood Keyss that Jesus gave to his disciples while He was on earth was taken from the earth when everyone who had been given it was killed.
The belief is that Jesus personally came to earth restored his church to Joseph Smith in the 1800s, giving him the keys and the Authority to act in His name... Joseph gave the keys to others, who...

Is it possible for a gay mormon to still have God in their life, or am I just doomed to hell?
To understand everything is to forgive everything.
There is a reason you're gay. Not everyone can comprehend the particular reason, but if you believe in God, then you must believe that He understands everything in perfect detail..
And going back to my first statement... To understand is to forgive.

I just turned 22 and found out I'm 4 months pregnant. The father wants an abortion, but we've always had a problem relationship. Things were getting better, but now this happened. I dont know what 2 do. I want my baby but I keep thinking aborting it.
True, you wouldn't have to raise a baby... but you also would never hear her sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star from the back seat of your car.
Mine can't sing worth a crap, but she still sounds like an angel.

I am 33 years old with two sons, 13 and 7. I just found out that I'm pregnant. The father says that he is not ready to be a dad. He is preferring abortion. I don't know if that's what I want, but I don't want to force him into a situation. Any ideas?
His 'not being ready' to be a dad shouldn't even be a factor. You can easily have him sign the child over to you and relenquish all legal rights. He won't have to pay for the child, and you won't have to deal with him causing you trouble in the long run.
It looks like HE'S forcing YOU into a situation. If you want to keep the baby, keep the baby and cut him...

I always wanted to know my dad growing up. I finally met him when I was 21. There's nothing you can really do or say to make up for any lost time or speed along any chance of a relationship.
You will forever have HERE and NOW. Don't worry so much about THEN and AGO.

I have a baby on the way and need to make an extra income as quickly as possible. Are there any "work from home" opportunities that anyone knows of that will help me in that area?... I really dont want to pay out money on more cons like I have previously.
I have made around $1500 in the last two weeks selling my stuff. I made about $400 on ebay and the rest just by having a yard sale.

Of course, it was before Christmas, so maybe sales were a little higher than to be expected. Who knows?

I am trying to burn a CD. It keeps telling me that there is no disc in the drive, but there is. Any help would be appreciated.
This happened to me once... I fixed it by:
*Open My Computer
*Right Click your Burner and go to Properties
*Tab over to "Recording"
*Make sure the box is checked that reads, "Enable CD Recording on this Drive"
If that box isn't checked, it will act as if there is no disc in the drive.
