A car going at 30 m/s undergoes an acceleration of 2 m/s squared for 4 seconds. Whatis its final speed?
38 m/s
m/s squared is meters per second per second. So meters per second squared is giving the acceleration a time frame.
So it's accelerating for 4 seconds. 4 *2 = 8 8+30 = 38m/s

Are Republicans so ashamed of their healthcare "death panel" lie they are now trying to blame it on the "far left"?
The death panel concept has more than validity to it. If, as Obama has stated he wants, we get a single payer system for healthcare, then there has GOT to be SOME beaurocracy that decides when someone stops getting the coverage that keeps them alive.
AKA: Death panel.

What would be an appropriate gift to give if you are visiting friends (they're married and have a young son) when you meet them in person for the first time?
I dunno, maybe something to enhance their home or something.
Or, if all else fails, you could get them something nice for their son, bound to go miles for them if they like him :D
Might I inquire how this situation is possible? Meeting friends for the first time?

I read that: "Alfred North Whitehead and J. Robert Oppenheimer have stressed that modern science was born out of the Christian world-view." Agree or disagree with them? Thoughts?
Agree. Major scientists ,such as Isaac Newton, stated that they "just wanted to prove how God worked." That was their inspiration.

Where did the saying, "makes you want to punch a baby" come from?
Well, it probably stems from the fact that it's an extreme.
It's a little diversion from the statement "I would do anything for that." Instead of it being so vague, it puts an extreme there.
It's like "I would kick an old lady down the stairs to go."
I dunno though, I prefer how the "rule of thumb" came about.

On average, 70 Americans die from terrorist attacks each year so we spend $161.9 billion to prevent it. On average, 450,000 americans die each year from coronary heart disease, so we spend about $3,000 to fight it. How do you feel about that?
If we didn't spend all that money to prevent terrorist attacks, they would have a chance to strike larger and larger.
Plus, heart disease would be classified as "natural causes" and then it's ok to die.
It's like, why do we spend so much money on police when, on average, X number of people die from murder?
SHouldn't we divert all that money to cure cancer?

Should step-parents be called "mom" or "dad" or by their first names? Any other suggestions for appropriate names?
Well, if the step mom or dad has been the mom or dad pretty much since the child was small then "mom" or "dad" works.
But, in the case of teenagers(or younger), they'll be first namers. Cause the entire relationship will be based around being friends more or less than parent.
It really depends on how the child feels, not the step.

I know exactly why I don't go get some medication for depression.
Because I feel like getting help for a mental disorder is like having a wheelchair (been in one). It's very demoralizing, and I just feel like getting help for my depression is the same deal.

Answer to:
How do you solve -x+2y=10 & 3x+y=-2 by graphing it and then where the two lines intercept on the graph is where the ordered pair is can someone help i dont know the ordered pair is help me!!!!!
What you do is you put both of these equations into slope-intercept form.
-x + 2y = 10
2y= x + 10
y = 1/2x + 5
3x + y = -2
y = -3x -2
Then, what you do is you plug in -2, -1, 0, 1, and 2 in for x, then crank out your y value.
So, for ex:
y = -3x -2 turns into
y = -3(-2) -2
y= 6-2
y=4
So, the ordered pair for that equation when x = -2 is (-2,4)
Then you do this...

Does anyone know which colleges in the US have the highest concentrations of Asians?
I'm going to go out and say Hawaii because like 9999% percent of the population is Asian there.
So, since a lot of people have to go to a local college cause they don't feel comfortable going far away, The university of hawaii is really their only choice.
So I say Hawaii if you can understand that mess.

Why don't big cities ever seem to elect Republicans as mayors? Considering that nine out of the ten poorest big cities in America have Democratic leadership, you'd think they'd try something new instead of the same old, same old.
Because, the entire democrat side of everything is a giant political machine.
You pretty much buy their vote by promising to give them something in return.
Whereas the republican get votes by spouting policies that don't seem to give as much right away.
Plus, democrats have the advantage of being able to spout that republicans are "the earth is flat"ers without...

Welllll I might be DRed for this, but I found a survey, (might have been global or something I don't know)
But it said that black women have the lowest IQ
and Asian men have the highest.
But it might be global because Asia has the smartest people, and Africa has the people with the fewest chances for success, resulting in low iqs.

Honestly, mowing lawns and shoveling snow is the best way to make money when you're a teenager. The problem with this is that you don't have "real world experience" working for x hours blah blah.
Plus, there tends to already be a ring if there is a business to be had where you are.

Samurai vs Knight, Who would win? Why?
Knight.
The samuri doesn't have a horse :)
No seriously, I think the knight would (if equally trained)
Because this is how I think of a samuri: a large sword, unbalanced fighting.
a knight in my opinion has a lighter sword, and then a shield.
So, the samuri would throw a huge unbalanced attack, then the knight would block with a shield (assuming it's an adequate one)...
Answer to:
When you see a "who would win " question, you do imagine a violent death match , right? ( or is it just me?)
Yeppppppppppppp
:) Nothing more fun than random violent death matches going on in my head
Actually, according to Death Race, Death Races would be more exciting.

Why did Japan bomb Pearl Harbor?
Because they knew that they had to take out the United States pacific fleet. If they didn't we woulda crushed them instantly. If they kept their course.
Their real plan was basically to attack the U.S., take as many islands etc as they could in that timeframe, then give back minimal numbers of gains after they lose the war with US.

Is there a Constitutional basis for lobbyists (paid agents) who urge members of Congress to vote a particular way?
Not really a constitutional basis.

The sentence for murder should always be death? Do you agree or disagree?
No.
All murders do not equal 100.
Intent, torture beforehand, (rape, etc.), knowing the person, the degree of murder.
All of those, plus more, comeinto account when it comes to murder.
So it would be a nightmare to deal with.
on a fairness note, we should make the requirement for the death penalty lower.

There were 6 more women on a committee than men. If the committee was made up of 30 people, how many men were on the committee?
x= number of men
y = number of women
x + y = 30
x +6 = y
Substitute y into the first equation
x + x + 6 = 30
Subtract 6 out of both sides
x + x = 24
combine like terms
2x = 24
x = 12
substitute x into second equation
12 + 6 = y
Combine like terms
18 = y
12 men and 18 women

Radiation is when an atom is releasing energy because it is unstable.
Example: Alpha radiation.
Alpha radiation is when an atom releases 2 protons and 2 neutrons (an alpha particle) and yeah.
Real world example: Smoke detectors. They have radioactive samples constantly emitting alpha radiation, and when the smoke comes up, it interrupts the flow of radiation, thus setting off the alarm.

She's just scared because those things are beastly in size :O
I had a friend who is deathly afraid of horses, and another who loves and owns 3.
About a year ago, horse-loving friend finally convinced her to ride a horse. It's just scary because they are so large.

Some dispute Darwin's theory about our nature to kill, on the grounds that if this is true, then why do we need military training? (Despite that people don't need it to kill others.) What do you think?
Ridiculous assumption by people.
Ex: Little kids know how to fight. They can bite, kick, scratch, punch.
But can they do it effectively?
No.
If they take martial arts class, then they can learn the proper way to punch, thus making it more effective.
Same concept in military.
You need the training to be able to do it effectively.

Industrial Revolution brought together economies of the world because travel and everything was easier. So isolated economies became part of the world economy.

.....You would need multiple people with expertise in that field co-write/ check your book. You NEVER see a highschool textbook that has ONE author.
You need to be properly censored (No going into details about the holocaust or the Rape of Nanking). Basically really, it's like writing a very general book about a subject, so you need to have in-depth knowledge about the subject.

.....Uhhhhh what COULD they do? I mean like, what are you going to do? Take him off the ticket, replace hiim with someone else? HELL NO!!! They would try to prolong his life, but if he died now...I dunno what would happen to the world. That has never happened before...Bush would probably run for another year or so until a fair election took over OR all hell breaks loose.

When was the last time you cried out of frustration?
About 2 years ago.
Only happens when I'm really having a core meltdown because I'm so pissed.
Now whenever I'm pissed I have like a 20 minute downtime and then I'm back to normal :D I love my mood swings.

When you see the swastika, do you think of Hindus or Nazis? Why?
The world is busy pounding the Nazi regime into our head instead of the Hindu version.

How does geography help historians learn about the past?
Alright so after reading a whole bunch of books on history, one thing that I learned is PIVOTAL is that you know where the hell stuff is happening. If you didn't know where Japan nor Korea was and your textbook said "Japan invaded Korea" you'd be like "Uh.......ok......"....and not really understand what that just said.

Answer to:
How do teachers detect if their students use essays brought from Internet sites?
The intelligence of the individual. I wrote an essay that turned out to be absolutely perfect (Or so said my teacher) in every way. Content went well above and beyond what he expected as a 100%. He ended up saying that had anyone else turned in that essay, he would have considered it a fake. :D

Answer to:
In many states, teachers are banned from using red pen to grade tests, are you afraid of red ink?
Ehhh alright that's stupid. I mean the red pen does seem a tad harsh when you see it on the paper, but the words the pen says are far more of value. The red stands out, your mistakes are easily seen and hard to just pass over. Your accomplishment seems more hardcore in a loud color too.

Dear Students,
Do you have a teacher that you really want to punch? Why?
Not in the slightest. I have a couple teachers that I've had that've bugged me (There was this one teacher I had. He was such a horrid teacher I was at a loss....)...Not really one that pissed me off. But I figure that it's like any person: sometimes you like them and sometimes you don't.
