An 84-year-old woman crashed her car into a bus shelter in the city I live in. At least one person got killed as a result of this and more than one person got injured. Do you think elderly people should be allowed to drive?
Yes older people should be allowed to drive. I can count how many poeple of all ages that have had accidents while driving that killed or injured poeple. We seem to like to pick on the old and the young, but people in the middle drive badly also.

In the States the drinking age has been 21 through out the country for about 25 years. Today there is a push to lower the dricking age in some states. You shouldn't just wait. If he isn't moving towards marriage and you are ready have a discussion with him. If he has no intention of marriage move on. If he has been thinking about marriage find out when he wants to do it. What is he waiting for. Knowing that will help you decide if you should hang out and wait.

We often use the term 'common sense'...but what exactly does that entail? We can often recognize when it's lacking, but is it something that is innate, or learned? You have it or you don't?
Common sense is the knowledge most people gain about the way the world works. It's common sense not to grab a hot pot with your bare hand. It's common sense to wear warm clothes on cold days. Common sense is learned. Most people will learn it without a lot of effort often through observations. Some people will need to be told or shown repeatedly.

Does anyone remember when, in some areas, the only telephone service you could get was a "party line"? People used to always listen in on others' conversations!
We had a party line growing up. I remember mom getting so angry are the other party would not get off the phone. When we became teenagers we were on the phone all the time and the other party complained. the phone company gave us our own line. It's hard to imagine living like that now. We have 3 people in our family with two cell line and one land line and no party lines

In those days the surgery would have left at least one huge scar and months to recover. At 13 I chose to give up running and jumping so I could keep my pretty knees.
