I save all of my work emails. The only personal emails I save are emails with account info for something I signed up for (frequent flier, cell phone account, etc) or I save emails of things I ordered online until the item comes and I can verify it works.

That light will most likely stay on for a while unless it is reset, maybe months. You can either take it to a dealer to have it reset, buy a code reader and reset it yourself ($50-200), or some AutoZone stores or other auto stores will have a code reader and may reset it for you for free.
