My ps3 was working fine yesterday but now it wont read the disc when i put the game in nothing at all comes on the screen any possibilites why this might be happening?

I had the same problem, PS3 booted up ok but wouldn't read any games discs, CDs or blu-ray DVDs. Phoned PS3 help desk who diagnosed a blu-ray drive laser failure and swapped out the base unit under warranty within 3 days.
