What are the most effective organic/ natural acne treatments? I'm having problems after stopping birth control, have combination skin, and harsh chemicals dry out my face. Thank you.
My grandma told me that you can put egg whites on your face. I never actually tried it because I was worried about Salmonella, but I think she saw it on Oprah (it's possible that the egg whites were mixed with something)
Also, just pulling your hair back into a pony tail at night and washing your face with a gentle face wash should help. (The oils from your hair rub onto your face at...

Do you put lotion on after you shave or get out of the shower? What kind do you use? I use bath and body works vanilla sugar body butter!
bath and body works fig and brown sugar is awesome. If I'm out of shaving cream I use body lotion or conditioner to shave my legs - it works really well and moisturizes better than shaving cream.

Do you have to be baptised to be a Christian?
There was a girl who was Jewish and her Grandma kidnapped and baptised her as a Christian when she was a baby. Then when she was older she ended up converting to Mormonism, while everyone else in her family stayed Jewish. Strange, huh?
Answer to:
When someone dies, do their cells continue to multiple or the like? Or do they just..immediately stop?
yeah, pretty much everything in your body is fueled by ATP, and ATP production stops when oxygen input stops (oxidative phosphorylation makes ATP)
Answer to:
Is balance an ability that biological only (since it relates to the ears)? I am wondering why it is that some people can balance more easily than others.
Your sense of balance comes from 2 places. Visual input from your optic nerve must match the input from the semicircular canals in your ears. The semicircular canals are loops that run in each ear on the three axes X, Y, and Z. Fluid in each canal moves around the loops when we move about, and consequently stimulates little hairs lining the canals. These hairs signal input to the brain.

Is there any validity to stereotyping of people?
There is validity in making generalizations about groups (that is the study of sociology) but not in making assumptions about individuals who are part of a group. This is a big difference that sometimes people get confused. For example, it is appropriate to say (and this is backed by studies)that:
-Blue collar families tend to use physical forms of punishment, while white collar families...

WHAT ARE YOU EXPECTING IN LOST SEASON 4?
I think they are going to start doing flash forwards in a addition to flash backs to keep us confused like they did on the season finale of season 3.
I'm expecting this season to be pretty good, I think the show has been improving since season 2 (that season sucked). I like how they are starting to give us more answers instead of more questions (even if the process is VERY VERY slow)

Why is it called Alcoholics Anonymous when the first thing you do is stand up and say, 'My name is Bob and I am an alcoholic'?
It is anonymous to the outside world. If you see someone you know at a meeting, you don't go blabbing it to everyone at work the next day. Plus, a lot of them don't use their last name.

My bf admits to having a drinking prob (but not alcoholism). when he drinks (often binge), till he passes out. He's smart, logical, and seems to have all the answers about this subject, but doesn't apply it to himself. How can I get through to him?
He's going to have to realize the damage hes doing himself. There's not really anything you can say to make him suddenly stop drinking if he's really an alcoholic.
Go to an Alanon meeting or look up the basics of Alanon online. (it is a program to educate the friends and family members of alcoholics about the disease and help them to cope with it).

A lot of the time you develop sores in your mouth when you are dehydrated. Dehydration throws of the PH balance in your mouth and some bacteria thrive in that environment. Try drinking lots of water and see if it helps.

Why do *you* think so many people don't believe in the theory of Evolution?
THE POWER OF DENIAL.
You can talk about education all you want, but I live in the bible belt where tons of smart people deny evolution (o.k obviously they are uneducated on the subject of ecology.) Anyway, ultimately it can make life seem kind of bleak and it sucks a lot of the mystery out God and religion. My dad is a huge creationist and I have a biochem degree, I eventually stopped...

What are your reasons for being for or against Same-Sex Marriage?
I don't see why people are all up in arms about it. If I was gay I would be SO insulted that my government denies me the basic right to marry the person I love. It would make me feel like such a second class citizen.

What is the city of cleveland like
A few decades ago the Cuyahoga river was so polluted that it caught on fire. Lake Erie was almost unswimmable. Pollution and illegal dumping there used to be out of control, but they've cleaned a lot of it up now.

Does anybody here think that "Mines" around the Country should be shut down?
yeah, mountaintop mining should be stopped b/c it creates massive pollution. But the problem is that mountaintop removal mining generates coal with less sulfur and therefore generates less acid rain when it is burned in electricity plants. Really, I think that we should shy away from coal-powered electricity in general

What are enzyme catalyst? and how long would it take to use an arm muscle, if your muscle did not have enzymes to catalyze their energy production?
I would say indefinately. Enzymes are crucial in order for ATP to interact with actin and myosin in order for your muscles to contract. (In fact, enzymes are crucial for almost every process in your body)
An enzyme is a catalyst protein that facilitates a reaction that would otherwise be thermodynamically unfavorable. The protein structure of the enzyme interacts with other molecules to...

Answer to:
Why is loss of the p53 gene function a critical step in tumourgenesis?
The p53 gene has been mapped to chromosome 17. In the cell, p53 protein binds DNA, which in turn stimulates another gene to produce a protein called p21 that interacts with a cell division-stimulating protein (cdk2). When p21 is complexed with cdk2 the cell cannot pass through to the next stage of cell division. Mutant p53 can no longer bind DNA in an effective way, and as a consequence the p21...

What is targeted drug delivery and How it is?
I think I read about that in my biochem book one time. A drug is administered after being wrapped in a membrane bubble so that it travels through the bloodstream without disturbing anything and then comes out once it crosses a cell membrane (I think). The bubble is called lipo-something or other. It helps reduce side effects from drugs that can be toxic if released all throughout your...

Answer to:
I've heard many evolutionists claim that at some time in the remote past, a certain very complex molecule, existing in a lifeless universe, replicated itself and gave rise to the first living cell. What proof is there that this molecule existed?
You're talking about the endosymbiotic theory. I'm not sure if it's considered to be hard proof, but the idea is that the mitochondian dna is similar to nucleic dna, and that mutation rates back that a prokaryotic organism engulfed another organism (the "pre-mitochondria")to create organelles and the eukaryote. (All animals that contain cells with organelles are...

You should be ok if you keep drinking the cran juice and water. But on the day of the test only drink a moderate amount of water. Lab testers can tell if urine is too dilute because they test for creatin, a substance that gives them a standard glomerular filtration rate and tells them what concentration of urea should be in your urine. (In other words they will fail you if they think you are...
