Answer to:
Whats the difference b/w loving someone and being IN love with them? iv never really understood the whole"i love u but im not in love with u" thing...
"I love you but I'm not in love with you"
Often times it's a tactful (cowardly??!) way of telling someone you don't/no longer love them in the romantic sense.
The difference between the two for me? I love my siblings and my closest friends. But I am not IN love with them.
There is no passionate feelings of HAVING to be with them above anyone else . No...

Is there something to it when he says: your my youngest gf. your the only girl i've dated with brown hair.. Is this him saying he doesn't really care for me?
It doesn't sound like anything more than him just making an observation.
Instead why not talk to him? Ask HIM what he meant by what he says.
Share your thoughts and feelings with him. And listen to his.
Good luck!
Answer to:
Is it true that you should never trust anybody 100%?
Perhaps viewed in a more positive light... given that we humans are complex and even the most rational and self aware person can & will be motivated to act/react by unconscious forces at times.
In that sense, yes I believe that statement to be true,

Should straight people go `Gay` for one day a year?
'Gay For A Day' day?
While its intention may be to unify people and engender greater understanding and tolerence...
in actual fact it trivializes people who aren't playing at being gay.
And suggests our sexuality is something that anyone can put on and off at whim - like a fancy dress costume.

When I *recognized* I was in love, it hadn't come as a revelation or something I'd even consciously considered or debated in my head.
The knowledge was just *there*. And it didn't surprise me in the least.
I can't think of any other way to explain it!

Does anyone here, actually have a life outside their own computerized world?
Yes. Absolutely. I can easily log off whenever and attend to other things.
I have no problems with staying disciplined about the time I spend online.
For example I'm just about to turn off my computer as we speak.
The Sims PS3 game will have been loading up in the meantime.
Maintaining a healthy balance of interests I truly believe, is the key.

I just realised i have pink lips... Not that pink but do you think it'll ruin my image as a boy?
No it won't ruin your image as a boy. Or a man for that matter. Or indeed as a human being of either gender.
It's indicative of blood flow in living creature with lips.
If the blood isn't flowing, then somehow 'image' would be the very least of anyone's concerns I imagine.

The issue to me sounds like it's not a matter of getting the approach right, but the fact that she doesn't want to be approached again.
Seeing that you have already dated, she would very likely have decided that after you and she got to know each other a bit more - it wasn't going to be the r/ship for her.

Why are we often unsure who we have told a story or joke to?
It most likely happens when it's more about wanting to tell a story that's particularly interested us or a joke that we've liked.
The mindset is primarily wanting to relate the information for entertainment value rather then get feedback from any specific person or people.
(Or something like that??!!)

Does being on this site cure your loneliness, or does it make it worse, knowing your Friends on Answerbag, might not Really be your Friends in real life
For me it's more about feeling more in touch, than about loneliness.
The definition, criteria and expectations from online friendships and that of friendships IRL is different. Not comparable.
Which is not to say, that an online friend couldn't become a friend IRL.
I'm who I represent myself to be and I'd hazard a guess, hardly an anomaly there!

How would you handle it if you didn't like your child's friends?
Ask myself what is it about them I don't like.
Is it because I think they are a negative influence on my child?
Perhaps I feel they aren't an overly good friend to him/her?
Or simply that I don't particularly like their personality type?
Understanding why you feel a dislike for them, may give you more clarity to handle the situation.

It's unlikely that they will ever be put in the position of literally having to take a bullet for me. So that wouldn't mean a whole lot.
I'd probably believe while they truly may care for me, they also weren't in love with me.
And that wouldn't be enough for me to want to stay.

however 'hard to get' she is, unless she fancies you as well then any effort on your part ultimately is going to be futile.

I recently went grocery shopping with a friend, she spent $150,most of it was on expensive meats & gourmet food to feed her 3 dogs.I kept quite but I thought it's wasteful & blasphemous for anyone to feed an animal in such manner ! What are your thoughts?
If she had kids and they were going without, bills unpaid - then sure it's insane.
But hey I think there's a lot worse things you can 'waste' money on!
A lot worse things you can do, than indulge your pets.
Whose companionship is obviously very important to her well being.

I really fancy this girl who I am a good friend with. Problem is, so does my mate and he isn’t such good friends with her. He wants me to find out if she likes him and he doesn’t know how I feel. What should I do? Will it ruin both friendships?
Simply it's not your role to find out how she feels about your friend.
That's his gig.
Yours is to see where YOU stand, by asking her out if that's what you want to do.

I have just broke up with boyfriend i love him very much but we are suppose to hate each other cus we a big fight wot do i do i still love him .
You don't have to hate someone you've loved just because of an argument!

Being friends after break up (especially if they were the one to break it off) is to cause yourself uneccessary pain.

Began speaking to a girl as she showed signs she had a crush on me, asked her out after 2 weeks but she rejected me. So we became friends but she still shows signs she likes me, staring at me, eye contact, flipping hair and sliming.
All the smiling, hair flipping whatever doesn't mean much in light of the fact that she had an opportunity to be with you, knew you were interested in her but chose not to.
She may just like flirting, knowing it's having an effect on you. An ego boost for her. Who knows?!
But the bottom line remains. She still isn't wanting to date you.

Do you think people assume that others know it's a question.

Or maybe is it just an oversight.

Bullied. It made my school life a living hell. To this day - some 30+ years later - if I enter a school yard I get a sick, yucky feeling.
I don't feel like a 'victim' still.
Yet do wonder.. only I knew then what I know now!

My bf and I broke up because we had so many off nights that we were sort of losing feelings for eachother. I had this other guy I "thought" I was gona miss out on, I went on a date with that guy, NOTHING. and now im feeling like a lonely idiot. What now
You broke up with your b/f because it wasn't happening.
That's a separate issue from the second guy. You gave it a shot and it wasn't to be.
Give yourself time to hang out, enjoy being single for a while. It's not a fate worse than death!!
And you'll get to know yourself better and have a clearer picture of what sort of guy is best for you.

Not based on his comment alone.
However seeing that you're closer to his house, that means he is also closer to YOUR house!
So if he's genuine, he'll be happy to come to your house whenever possible - that way you will be there for your mother. But he will still be able to spend time with you.

Leave a small pool of water in the bath, enough to wet their feet.
Hopefully they will soon associate the bathtub with the discomfort of the water and avoid it.
And for the time being leave puss's litter tray close by the bathtub.
Ps if the water doesn't work, a few empty soda cans - enough to rattle against each other on the bottom of the bathtub might also work.

I watched a psych conf: it said that men feel greater hurt and insult when their wife cheats with a woman rather than a man. Do you agree? If so, why do men push so hard to get their wives involved with other women if its not what they want?
Cheating on your spouse suggests it's done without their knowledge. And usually involves a level of emotional attachment between the two people sharing the secret of their affair.
Wanting the sexual titillation of seeing your wife with another female is potentially a shared experience and without expectation of any ongoing future or involvement outside the bedroom.

Is she and the guy in a committed r/ship? Is she a very close friend he has had for a long time? Has she lent him money in the past?
If none of the above apply - then she is ill-mannered and disrespectful to put someone in that awkward position by asking them for money.
Answer to:
Do you believe in love at first sight?
Feelings of love take time to develop.
But I do believe that we are either drawn to wanting to know someone better or we're not. Almost immediately after seeing/meeting them.
This is often an unconscious reaction. And our initial feelings aren't always an indication that a r/ship will ensue or even whether the other people feels the same attraction we do.

Is it true that every girl will eventually fall for her FWB and the guy won't care or is that just a stereotype? Will at least one person always get hurt or is that just a stereotype, too? Personal experience stories preferred, please.
*Disclaimer for any generalisations.
*It's not a given that the female will fall for her FWB. Though more often than not females are more inclined to associate sex with their feelings for that person.
*FWB rarely work well unless BOTH people aren't (secretly) hoping at any level that it will develop into a deeper r/ship. That's where the hurt comes in.

The " we should be friends" thing is merely a line.

And maybe to ensure that you don't get all pissy at them and hassle them after the break up.

I told my Boyfriend of 3 months that i have genital herpes, 2 weeks ago (before sex)We went to my GYN.(last fri.) things seemed fine, he said it was a lot to think about and now i havent heard from him in 4 days. we had sex once. what is he going thru?
He's probably going through to the next county right about now.
You've done all you could by being honest with him.
Anyhoo genital herpes is actually not so uncommon. I'd think it is a pretty lame reason to toss a r/ship aside.

Which Disney Star(s) do you think is/are ACTUALLY TALENTED?
I found Minnie Mouse to be a bit stilted and wooden in dramatic roles.
Far better with more light hearted roles where she
showed a real comedic flair and brilliant timing.
Daisy Duck? a method actress who dined out far too long on that sexy waddle, pouty beaked ingenue thing. Probably as much the result of typecasting as much as anything.

My husband constantly talks about "open relationship" or not wanting to stay in this marriage. One day it's I love you and want/need you... the next it's I DONT WON'T this but I love you. Help.... im confused
It's hardly surprising you feel confused.
Your husband sounds like he is going through a major crisis himself. Maybe he's having an affair or considering it? That would be my strong gut feeling.
Have you suggested that he seek counselling pronto? I doubt it's an issue that's going to go away by itself.
How committed is he to keeping the marriage intact?

When your self confidence is lost, you are in a very vulnerable position.

Why put yourself through needless pain.

Why do people come back to your life?does that mean i am really special or i played the important role in their life?

Is the person getting a divorce in the sense of filing papers and seeing a lawyer type divorce?
Or dreaming out loud that one day they just might actually up and pack their bags and move out?
Having said that, if two adults are attracted to each other, then where is the cut off point between being their friend or being their date?

Given that we can't change someone else... perhaps it may help looking inwards to better understand what drew you to and kept you with someone who hasn't been/isn't a positive presence in your life. What the payoff was for you.
Kind regards and all the best :)
Answer to:
Do you like a planned or spontaneous date?
If we were in the very early stages of dating, then some sort of plan is best. It shows they are interested enough in me that they have given our date some thought beforehand.
It's also a considerate gesture - having some sort of activity pre planned as a bit of a distraction - when you're still new to each other, so neither of you feel too pressured or 'put on the spot'.

I wouldn't assume anything. If you can find a way to talk about - not in heavy, clinical way - together then it could be a great experience for both people then.

FRIEND is having bday party, you are type of person who NEVER likes to go anywhere, would it be NASTY & CRUEL for you to wish that party could get cancelled somehow cus you just do not feel like going to it, eventhough this person goes to your events?
It sounds more like a waste of energy and head space!
Simply thank them for the invite but you won't be attending but please know it's not personal.
But your decision not to go doesn't in turn require that the event be cancelled, depriving others who do wish to go.
And whether your friend continues to attend your events or not still, is their choice.

[Relationships are like watermelons: In the store they look so wonderful. You take them home anticipating their wonderment. You cut them open and they look oh so sweet. Then you bite into the bitterness and they turn your face upside down] Do you agree?
No. While they may appeal to me superficially - enough to take them home, my level of anticipation is positive but neutral.

Yeah strangely enough they do!

Is wanting to sleep together overnight after making love a reasonable need to have (and ask for) in a relationship?
If you've discussed and then *BOTH* agreed one's definition of 'relationship' matches up with the other's -
then YES, it's not only reasonable, it would be part of the natural progression of the r/ship.

What are the dangers of not expressing ones needs in a relationship?
Potential disappointment and frustration if the other person can't and/or wont deliver.
But it can relieve you of the guesswork. And instead help you make more informed decisions on whether the r/ship is ever going to be what you want.
Ultimately ONLY GOOD can come from asking for what you need.

Ladies, how would you handle this delicate situation? Let's say a guy you were with was not the sexual dynamo you had hoped for - i.e. he's under-endowed and doesn't quite last long enough and as a result you were not being satisfied.
The reasons would ultimately be largely irrelevant - if the r/ship wasn't enhancing my life, I'd opt out of it.
No explanation beyond that would be needed.

Is sleeping together and making love intrinsically linked, or can making love exist as a standalone separated from sleeping together (and still be emotionally healthy)?
They can be two separate states. Either state could exist on its own.
Alas one person almost inevitably wants the whole package if not in the beginning, down the track.
Differing expectations then result in one of the two people compromising.

Yes, it's romantic...... Romantic clap+trap. He 'gives his life' (how does that actually work anyway??) for this girl with whom he is having a one-sided love fest..
When she finds out he is actually dying on her account she conveniently falls in love with him but tells him as he literally gasps his last breath.

My bestfriend and i were sleeping together and acting like a couple till he said he wants to keep being just friends again. i was hurt and didnt talk to him for a few days. now i told him i think we could come back to being friends. am i making a mistake?
Yes, you're setting yourself up for just more hurt.
He doesn't feel for you, as you feel about him. If you resume having sex as part of being just friends, you may start to feel resentful that he is okay with the situation as FWB (friends with benefits)
Answer to:
A friend has asked for serious space. It severely hurts my feelings, but when I view it as a deserved punishment, it's easier to bear since punishment is my fetish. Should I view it as punishment to make it easier to cope with or will that contort things?
While I understand the fetish thing, in this instance could it be an opportunity to look at the situation in real time.
What was it about your actions that resulted in this friend asking for 'serious space' from you.
Is it really a punishment for you to view it as such? Or is it in fact, a way of protecting yourself? Comforting yourself?
You feel hurt by their rejection....

The person must have sounded very unconvincing, maybe that's why the other person persisted?

The person who actually killed D is responsible.

You prefer their company above (but not to the exclusion of family & friends) anyone else's.

If a female sex counsellor is convinced that an elderly man needs to have his sexual confidence restored, may she herself "co-operate" with her patient towards this end? My professional friends are divided on this issue. This is a real life dilemma for me
If she is a registered counsellor it would be illegal and unethical.
Beyond that I'd seriously question her agenda and credibility.
Not to mention the 'professionalism' of your purportedly 'professional' friends who would even consider it an option.

I imagine your grandfather sought companionship so soon after because he WAS in a r/ship for the most part of his life.
NOT in spite of the fact he was.
He would have been accustomed to having a companion and it obviously left an enormous gap in his life when his wife, your grandmother died.

Yes, it's like a comforting habit if you feel alone or stressed and need to escape to somewhere familiar.
Whether you can truly fall 'back in love" with someone who didn't return your passion in the first place, is highly debatable though, I think.

I like this guy and he is pretty nice and i put a note in his locker and he asked me if i wrote it and i said no and then like two weeks later he is dating my bff and he is always staring at me and all
Whether he does think you wrote the note or not - wouldn't make any difference. He could still have asked you out.
Sadly though, he chose to date someone else.
If you are aware that he always seems to be staring at you - perhaps it's because you could be staring at him??
He's where he has chosen to be - but hey he's only one of lots of guys out there! :)
Answer to:
Im now pregnant and me and the babys father are not 'together' anymore but when we meet up sometimes that little 'spark' lights up between us and we end up in bed, which is better than ever.he is so loving now, could he still have feelings for me?
In all kindness and honesty, it sounds like lust.
True loving feelings would be consistent along with their presence.. Not just when you meet up sometimes.
Answer to:

I honestly don't think it would matter whether you appeared interested or totally indifferent to him.
If he rings it will be because *he* has decided he is interested in meeting up with you again!
In my experience, if they're really keen there's nothing that will stop them getting in contact.
Good luck.

What do you do when you unintentionally hurt someone emotionally and they don't give you a chance to explain or apologize. They just write you off w/o letting you explain anything. What then?
If they don't give you a chance to explain or apologize then it leaves you with no other option than to accept that they don't want to continue the f/ship.
Otherwise they would be open to hearing what you had to say in the hope of making amends.

You can't change her mind. Regardless she feels as she does for a reason.
Just listen to her, support her in ways you can.

Anything else is just speculation.
Answer to:
Would a guy that likes you really feel jealous when you flirt with other guys around him or just won't care??i mean is it a way to attract him more??or to lose him more?
You can't make someone feel more for you than what they already do.
They either will be interested. Or they won't be.
And it is ultimately out of our control.

How to know if he's with her cuz he really likes her or just want to make you jealous??what are signs or gestures that can help?
If he's with someone else there's every chance that's where he wants to be.
People don't usually hang out with someone just to make someone else jealous. Unless they are extremely emotionally immature still. Even then it's unlikely.
It would be a lot of effort to what end??!
Surely they'd make themselves available and simply ask the other person to go...
Answer to:
Would a guy who is really serious and not very social whith others like a girl who's his opposite or a serious girl like him?
While opposites attract, birds of a feather also flock together.
It could just as easily go either way.
People's characters are complex and in what degree a personality trait exists, makes it near impossible to predict.

Not purposely set out to do it, no.
Often people's actions are that - their actions. And it may not be a personal slight on you.
Nonetheless, it doesn't mean though that what they choose to do or how they live has to be acceptable to your idea of what friendship means. And what you expect from that friendship.

Anybody get there first boyfriend/girlfriend in there 20's? (20 and up)
Yes. Me :) And though probably a bit immature til my 20's it wasn't because of lack of social skills or fear or shyness or not being presentable enough - I really just didn't find anyone that I experienced a *mutual* interest enough in to go beyond just being friends with.
And investing emotionally in someone 'near enough' didn't sit right enough for me...

He is obviously short of money. Cashing in drink cans, pawning your phones etc.
Perhaps he needs a second job and/or financial advice? Does he seem troubled or under the influence of anything - which could be draining his finances... communication is the key.

You probably don't have to do anything special or tricky.
Often times if a guy really likes you, it's all about 'him' and what he sees and wants.
Whether the girl likes him or not at this stage, is largely irrelevant I think! :)

Can you fall in love with someone who you are not physically attracted to?
I would think, no.
ps Finding someone physically attractive has little if anything to do with being shallow or superficial. We are drawn to what attracts us as individuals - looks wise. That is part of falling in love and doesn't lessen or discount a person's *heart*.
Perhaps we are attracted to the face which reflects the person's inner being??!!

Why do so many women get insanely jealous if their men are watching porn or happen to look at another woman? It's something I just don't get...
Perhaps because women are more inclined to associate sex as an expression of love and intimacy.
So when they see their man showing any interest in a female, they are filtering it through *their* experience of sex/love being intertwined.
And as a female, intellectually I fully understand and appreciate the difference between the two. Even too, for a male.

Their advice is not clouded by feelings that often make the two people in the r/ship overlook all the negative aspects out of fear of being alone or that somehow they CAN *change* how the other person in the r/ship is.

I met this girl a week ago.i personally have never met someone and felt this way. it seems shes the girl for me. its like shes the other half im looking for but the twist is she is in the middle of going to the marines. signing on monday. what do i do?
If she is the girl for you and you are the one for her, then you'll both find some way of making it happen.
Practically speaking, communication is now almost invariably possible where ever you are. Determination and interest will be what counts meanwhile.
Good luck :)

If I look hard enough, can I see tracks of your tears behind that beautiful smile?
No, coz my red swollen eyes, snotty nose & tear stained cheeks would be self evident!
But when it's over and I've washed myself, there's no permanent & irrevocable damage to the smile I don't think..
