Please tell me if you think this is awful. My daughter got a brand new backpack 1/2 way through the school year. She tore it up. I'm making her use it till the end of the year, even though she has her new one for next year. As long as it was a good quality backpack in the beginning, I think it's okay. She needs to learn to respect the things you buy for her. Some of the backpacks they sell these days are not strong enough for all the books and things that kids need to carry, but if you feel the backpack was destroyed by her own negligence of abuse, you are not being awful.

Not only fruit and veggies, but fresh bread from a bakery, fresh meat from a butcher shop, fresh milk/eggs/butter/cheese from a local farmer... all of these count. Most of our grocery budget goes to fresh items! We buy some dry goods in order to make things like bread, pizza dough, etc. We do a great deal of our shopping at outdoor farmer's markets in the warmer months, and what we find there inspires our meals for the week. :)

I keep seeing people who think there needs to be 'instant chemistry', 'sparks', 'fireworks', etc. when they first meet someone...or it means they're not with the right person. Given the sheer number of people on this site that ask medical questions (human or veterinary), do you think that the human race is getting dumber as a whole? If they follow the advice of whomever feels like answering, they can't be very smart. Do you think it has to do with intelligence, or with the inability to pay for a doctor's care? There are, obviously, questions that make one wonder. It's easy to find out if you are pregnant or not, for example. That being said, there is usually a free nurse's hotline in most cities. I would suggest that people direct their human medical questions there!

Since moving to the seattle area I have noticed coffee kiosks on the highway advertising "sexy lingere baristas". Meaning, you get your coffee made by gals in their undies. Today I passed one and the women inside were completley NAKED. thoughts? It seems a strange and dangerous combination to me... hot liquids and bare skin. I've been "batching it" (w/o a relationship) longer this time since I left mom & dad's in '73. So I was wondering: Is there any 'benefit' to removing the dishes before urinating in the sink? ;-) I would think moving them would allow the urine to go down the drain, where as the dishes in the sink could create little dams or pockets for the urine to pool in. That could create a more unpleasant smell, so I would move the dishes. Heck, you could go really crazy and wash them!

I have known of two situations where this has been a 'fuzzy issue'. In both cases, the surviving person did not share the last name of the person who died (even though they were married). When I do something for someone else, I do it because I want to help them out. I don't want my close friends and loved ones to feel indebted to me. If it gave me an opportunity to speak to a multitude of people about an issue that truly affects us all (because I live and think globally, that could be any number of things!). I think most people like recognition and, points aside, that is the real purpose for me when congratulating another answerbagger. The bride does not know about my him; we have been out of touch. Unless the invitation specified that you could bring a guest, you should definitely contact her and make sure it is okay. Would you report a member of your family if they committed a crime? It definitely depends on the crime. There are many small 'crimes' that regular people commit every day. In the case of major crimes, I might have to. For example, if it was violence or abuse, I would have to report it, for the sake of the victims (and future victims).

That being said, if it pertains to your personal life, and the personal lives of others, it can certainly be bad. I think there is a time and place for 'complete honesty', and your employers, employees, and co-workers should only have the right to know about things work-related.

If you were to be the clown at a local carnival and you were given a choice of things that people in the audience could throw at you, which of these three things would you prefer to be thrown at you: a Boston cream pie, a water balloon, or slime balls? I would choose the water balloons because they are a lot less messy than the other two choices, and contain no bug attracting sugar! Who do you consider to be your biggest influence when it comes to life decisions? My parents were a huge influence on me, and taught me a lot about life, both in words and example. Now that I am a parent, I use what they have taught me to make decisions. That being said, my son is the person who I think of when determining if a decision is best for both of us.

I got all of my anger out in the letter, and then I burned it in the fire pit in my back yard. How much does a civil ceremonies (marrige) cost usually? First you have the cost for the marriage license, which I believe cost us $15. In some states, you will also have to pay for blood tests. You can get an officiant for around $100, in our area, at least. Those are the only costs that you would incur, aside from 'extras' like rings, clothing, etc. I don't think I am forgetting anything.

My neighbor's dog barks too much and I can't sleep, I often sleep at 2am and wake up about 10am but the dog will start barking at around 8am, can I do something about it? I don't wanna call the police, can I message some agency online? I think a dog can bark at 8am with impunity. Like Athrael said, the family has probably left it for the day, and cities generally don't do anything about barking dogs during the day. Have you tried the soft earplugs, or a noise machine?? I find a noise machine to be quite soothing, and it blocks out most outside noise, including dogs.

I have a few rules that help in these situations. One is, don't stress over something I cannot change, such as traffic. I do not go to the grocery store when I am in a hurry, it is counterproductive for me on so many levels! I would rate myself an 8 or 9 in terms of patience. I work with children and the elderly, and patience is a HUGE part of my job and life!

I move aside if there is not room for my car and another vehicle to safely pass on narrow city side streets, I watch for merging traffic on the interstate, and get out of the way. I am one of few courteous drivers in my area, it seems, but I'm not going to change my good habits because of others' bad ones.

I spent some time in carpentry college, so there are several types of repairs that I can do, including minor electrical and plumbing work. A working mother has limited time with her children, and usually comes home to a full evening of housework and cooking. A stay-at-home mom has more time with her children, has more time for household chores, but does not get any time 'off'. It is a 24 hour job, either way.

I'm sure that there are guys who would do this. I mean, many men leave their wives home with their children while they cheat. So why not leave a g/f home with a dog? My live in boyfriend still receives phone calls and text messages from an old girlfriend. Would u dedicate a lot of your time & money into the "perfect wedding" (sending invites, booking ur banquet hall & church, wedding dress/suit purchases/rentals, etc.) OR Would u spend a little less of both for something else (honeymoon, house, car, etc.)? I have all ready made that choice, and it was a no-brainer for me. We had a very simple wedding. Nothing fancy. We spent under a thousand dollars. Most of those who attended said it was one of the loveliest and most intimate wedding that they had been to. Going into debt for one day of your life doesn't make sense. It is the marriage that should matter, not the fanfare.

When listening to music, you do lip sync or sing it aloud? I sing out loud. I am often practicing finding different 'harmonies' when I listen to music. It's fun, I can still hear the original singer, and it's great practice.

My husband is worse than I am, so if one of the dogs gets sick in the house, I have to deal with it. Those things are often family 'traditions' and have to do with the region or country one is brought up in. I think there are many good reasons for a break. I generally take a break if I go out of town, or have had 'too much'. I don't think you scare easily at all. Before we experience some things, we have very strong opinions...we criticize and judge others for the choices they make. Then we get married, we become parents, we live certain lifestyles...is anything the way you thought it would be? To be honest, in many ways it is like I suspected. But there are things I was critical of, especially when it came to my parents, that I now see were out of line. Parents are simple people with a very difficult job and heavy responsibility. I used to see a mom get frustrated with her kids in the store and think 'That'll never be me!'.

Honestly . . . if your boss is out for the day and u are left unsupervised, wat do u do most of the day? like after u did ur daily duties and he/she isnt ther to give u additional tasks?
