Answer to:
If someone starts telling a joke that you've heard before, should you tell them?
It depends who it is
If it was someone I knew very well then I would have no problems saying to them that I had heard it before. However, if it is someone that I was not so familiar with, or a work colleague I didn't know too well then I would allow them to continue with the joke and laugh at the appropriate place. I would not want to come across as rude so would let them tell it.

Why is the word "seed" used to refer to the pairings of athletes or teams competing in tournaments?
Players in tournaments are "planted" in the draw so that they will not meet each other until the later stages. This ensures that the best players will have the best chance of meeting each other at the end of the tournament. Should everything go according to the seedings then seeds 1 and 2 will meet in the final. The benefits of this are that the public are able to see the best players...
Answer to:
How long can you survive if you stop eating completely and only drink water?
Well, David Blaine managed 44 days with only water, although he did obviously suffer physical effects from his task. However he did not die. Hence one would imagine that a well-nourished person devoid of physical exersion could probably survive up to around 6 or 7 weeks without food. Blaine had more than likely prepared his body for such an experience by eating certain foods before his stunts....

Answer to:
Will we ever run out of combinations of musical notes, so that no more new songs can be written?
Even if the combinations of notes is exhausted, we should consider that the melody is also a factor in songwriting. Since a melody can make the same chord sequence sound completely different, and a melody cannot be "pinned down" by a note (every single musician may sing a different melody to the same chord sequence) the combinations are infinite. When considering the note combinations...

Yes you can

Can a police officer pull you over for appearing to be too young to drive?
Absolutely - and this has happened to me on numerous occasions, especially soon after I passed my driving test. Since I stand at only 5 foot tall I can easily be regarded as "suspicious" and so used to get pulled over. All they did was check my details and ask me some questions and once everything was confirmed as legal (as of course it was!) they let me on my merry way.
Also, my...

What is a miss?
To add to Wicked Wille's answer. The miss rule was introduced to eradicate a "professional" foul, where the snookered player could purposely play a poor attempt at hitting the ball on and leave the white in an unfavourable position for his opponent. However it is surrounded by controversy as it is enforced almost any time that the striker misses the ball he is attempting to hit,...
Answer to:
What is a shot to nothing?
Willie's answer is not quite correct. A shot to nothing is a shot by where the striker attempts to pot a ball, knowing that the chances that he will not leave a pot on are very high and hence "shot to nothing". However, the white ball does not necessarily have to end up in the baulk area behind the colours, it can be anywhere on the table from where a pot is highly unlikely. It...

Answer to:
What are the rules for Snooker?
There's loads of places where you can download the rules, or at least you can copy and paste them and put them into your own format. I got mine from www.worldsnooker.com. There's some great rules in there that cover absurd things from happening, but they're not the sort of thing you'd think about straight away.

Answer to:
What cause the skin to wrinkle and get saggy as we get older?
As far as I know it is caused by a loss of water in the body. A baby's weight is roughly 70% composed of water, hence a baby has lovely soft skin, and as we age this percentage falls to as low as 50%, and so the skin cannot stay as supple and hence wrinkles.
