I use AdAware to scan for computer threats. Yesterday after updating, I ran a scan and it just kept scanning on a continuous loop. I stopped it after 75 minutes. What could be going on here? I have had the same issue with adaware seems to have become corrupted by the last update. I ended up uninstalling the program completely...restart computer and then reinstall. I thought doing a system restore only affected Windows files and not personal files, but when I did a restore back to Oct24th and lost all the files I had downloaded after that. If you have another copy of it and it is not the correct one (see previous answer for size etc.) and its located in some other directory like c:\windows\temp chances are its a virus.
