If you do the washing up and leave the pan foamy & not rinse will the washing up liquid dry off? And what are the health/taste implications?
For starters, Detergents are basically a surfactant - which can collapse your lungs if it comes in contact with them. Realistically, you will probably get a horrendous case of diarrhoea - and the food will also taste soapy going down.

Does homosexual behavior in animals mean that being gay is biologically predetermined, rather than a lifestyle choice, for humans?
If your intelligence/reasoning ability is on a par with the animals your question would infer that among humans it is 'biologically predetermined' whereas if you put your IQ ability on a higher lever it would not.
Now - I think I will go eat my children as that seems, studyiny certain animals, to be the 'biological predermined' route to take when yhey piss me off/ my larder is empty.

My sister and her husband have been talking about adopting a child from China and tonight they told us they are starting the process of adopting a little girl from there, For those of you that have adopted, what country did you get your child from?
Three children, all from China. It's tougher now to adopt from there though - since the standard of living ahs risen, the Chinese are more and more inclined to try and care for the children themselves. Ethopia is one place you might investigate. Avoid Russia though - they will charge you and arm and a leg which too many people are willing to pay anyway for a 'blue eyed white...

In the UK what legal recourse do I have if a tattooist has made a hash of a tattoo, and will not pay for removal or a cover up?
You can sue on the grounds that your 'reasonable expectations' to a competent service were not fulfilled. The trick will be to get the Judge/jury to agree with that. If the 'artist' advertizes his 'professionalism' widely in print or the media, you have a better chance than if he is just in some grotty little mall in a bad part of town (or anywhere in Birmingham ; )

How was the American South permanantly affected by the Civil War?
As a European who spent several years living in the South, what strikes me is the continous sense of greivance against 'the North' and the tendency to not be able to accept the fact that the South was defeated. A general 'siege mentality' still exists and a suspicion and dislike of 'Northeners' as well as a general inability to accept people of other Races...

I read some years back that Joanie turned into a total Jesus freak and also started accusing the cast of 'Happy Days' of raping her and all sorts of bizzare behaviour.

Chronological age has nothing to do with it. I have two suggestions for anyone who wonders if they may have a problem with Alcohol - first, see if you can have ONLY two drinks when you go out, not having ANY drinks is not really an indicator for many reasons I won't go into here, and the second is find out where there is an AA meeting in your area and check out an OPEN meeting (the open...

There are less 'electives' in high School. In all the schools there is a much greater emphasis on discipline than in American schools. I've see data that shows that the quality of life in Ireland is top notch. (With regard to jobs, government, health care, national security, etc.) Can anyone living there agree that life in Ireland is very good? Why or Why not?
The curse in Ireland is the begrudgery. For some reason Irish people hate seeing other Irish people get ahead in life. There is a pervasive 'Cast' system in the culture which is on a par with India.

I made the horrible mistake in thinking I worked for a Hospital instead of a Corporation...and did my job too bloody well. Uncovered a real den of corruption in it - and because it was not the Janatorial staff or Kitchen hands that were involved but some of the top management I ended up being forced to resign a few months down the road.
It was beautifully done - and it still haunts me....

What do you think of a school that forces children to line up for a picture based on the color of their skin? As a parent, what would you say to the school administrators?
I think it is DISGUSTING! I have a son that is 26 years old now, he's never met me, I was 17 and didn't get along with his Mother or her Father, I just found him. Do I contact him? How? What should I say?
If you care for him - contact his parents first and get their insight on if it would be a positive thing or not for you to make yourself known to him.
I guess your decision will depend a lot on your motivation to meet him - and if it is ultimately for your benefit or, hopefully, his.

Number one I would reasses my definition of 'Real Father'

I adopted three children from China. Obviously they realised soon enough that they were 'different' from dear olf Dad.

If you could go back in time and meet any one person in history, who would it be, why would you choose them, and what would you talk about?
Living - Robert Moses, the Civil Rights Activist. I only learned about him a few years ago and cannot believe he is not enshrined in every Americans consciousness. Talk about a 'for real' hero/humanitarian.
Dead - I would like to meet with Jack The Ripper so I don't spend any more time and money on this annoying side-interest of mine which is basically a futile attempt to find...

Who's your favorite character on the britcom show "Are You Being Served?"
Love that show : )
It took me a long while to realise that the REAL glue that held it together was not, as thought, 'Mr Humphries' but 'Mr Lucas'
Inmann was brilliant, no doubt about it, but Lucas was the binding that held everything together for so long.
Still -everyone of the original cast was so darn good
as a team that it is hard to pick a 'favourite'

What is the safest part of an airplane?
Statistically, the furtehr back the better chance of surviving. This is due to the fact that most fatalities occur when the plane goes on fire - death by immolation or, more usually, axphysiation.
The fuel on aircraft is - for the most part - stored in the wings. On impact, the tail section tends to detatch from the wing section thus distancing oneself from the fuel....
But it is really a...

I cut my 14 foot rubber tree down--it was only 2 feet from the house ande I was worried about it harming the pipes. Now, how do I get rid of the stump (prevent it from sprouting back)?
Thanks
Make up a few gallons of one part bleach to three parts water.
Boil it.
Pour it liberally over the stump and out t o about six inches beyond where you reckon the edge of the foliage was.
Repeat once a week for four weeks.
An added benefit is that if you have Termites anywhere around that area - they will surface in an hour or so.

I have asked this question before, without being given a reference: legally, are the police required by law, to advise illegal immigrants the Miranda Warning, after an arrest for a crime?
Yes. It's the same philosophy of law that says that you cannot deprive a person of their basic rights in such cases.
For instance - if you suspend said law based on legal ocupancy it would in effect turn the person into a LITERAL 'Outlaw'...they could then be killed or treated like a 'non-human'
Being a Legal emmigrant in the USA myelf, and remembering the time,...

I always though it would be Mandarin, but actually once I realised that we use 'tones' in english also it got me over the humps. (as in 'are you CRAZY?' or 'are YOU crazy?' type thing)
Baffingly - whereas I picked up a reasonable level of Bengali in about four months some years (okay - decades) ago, I never could get an ear for Hindi...still can't understand...

What's the worst experience you ever had at a restaurant?
New Years Eve, Dhaka Bangladesh. A bloody westerner out of his mind on Ganja started bullying the waiters and staff in the small roadside teahouse myself and a German buddy were whiling away the time in.
He ensured our involvement when he spat at a waitress.
A big fight ensued that resulted in lots of broken stuff, screaming and blood spatters (Thank God AIDS was not as widespread then as it...

Would you convert for the person you love?
Used to be, when I was younger and so much more innocently idealistic, that I would not hesitate to say 'SURE!'
However, over the years I have learned that there should be a much deeper reason to commit to a faith than trying to please/impress/comfort/whatever another person - and if you cannot honestly committ you are being deceitful in your 'conversion'

Do you think dropping the atomic bomb on Japan in 1945 was justified?
All I can say is that I am damned glad I did not have to decide - and if I did, all I know too is that every Veteran from the Pacific Theater is convinced, to this day, that the invasion of Japan would have been a cataclysmic bloodbath anyway...for both Allies and Japanese.
At least this way, it was less of a horror-story.

When you consider the concept of modern warfare, how idiotic was the Napoleon construct of battle formation; mechanized vehicles not being taken into consideration?
I'm not sure exactly what your question is, but I'll take a stab at answering it.
In Napoleons time, the firearms were so unreliable, underpowered and - above all - innacurate that the ONLY way to get a reasonable kill/round rate was to mass your muskets closely together.
In other words - let enough balls fly in a cluster and SOME of them would hit.
Conversly - the BEST way to...

Answer to:
Does Hitler have any relative's that are still living?
yes. He has an Irish half-nephew. Adolphs half-brother was paid by the Nazi party to leave Germany in the thirties as he was an 'embarrasment' to them because he played on his relationship with Adolph to extort money and goodies.
He went to London, worked in a hotel and married an Irish chamber-maid there. They had one son. He was informed of his bloodline when he turned twenty one....

There are two broad disciplines nowadays in TKD - Olympic style and traditional. Olympic style is VERY competitive-oriented so avoid an Academy that is affiliated with it for starters.
Sparring is a central part of any real Academy though, no matter what - but there are 'no contact' options in some.

I have a 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan. Out of nowhere, the car wouldn't start this morning -- the engine wouldn't turn over and it just made a clicking noise -- but we tried charging the battery and that didn't work. Please help!
I had the exact same problem. It's the Starter Motor and the easiest way to confirm it is to tap the starter with a small hammer or something similar a few times - it will then turn over and start your engine.
Don't BASH it - hit it with about the same force as if you were cracking a walnut.
