You need to do everything possible to ignore your dog until she is completely settled down and relaxed. This goes for other people too. If she is excited, firmly take control and lay her down somewhere and then ignore her. In time she will not associate the arrival of you or anyone else as a matter to get excited over.

What are the point of amps inside of your car? and beyond that what are the point of 1,2,4, and 5 channels
Amplifiers "boost" the low voltage signal from your source(stereo or pre-amp) to a high voltage signal that is sent to your speakers. High voltage = louder sounds, with the appropriate speakers.
Multiple audio channels are only useful if what you are listening to was recorded or broadcast in multiple channels. Stereophonic sound, or stereo if you prefer, consists of two or more...

Where in the bible does it say that the christians will actually be taken by Jesus BEFORE all the bad stuff with the Antichrist occurs?
It depends on which Bible you read.
In a Catholic Bible, e.g. The Douay Rheims Bible, 1 Thes 4:15~17 and 1 Cor 15:51~55 seem clear on this subject. These passages describe "The resurrection of the living" or "First resurrection" which other denominations have named "The Rapture."

Can anyone tell me what it's like to live on the West Coast of Florida (The Gulf side)?
My Grandma has lived in Ft. Myers for 25 years and I went to school in Tampa. What it is like really depends on where you are. There are great places, bad places, poor places, rich places, fun exciting cities, backwoods boring towns, areas where only old folks live and young centers of growth, awesome beaches and some that aren't so awesome...get the picture?
I really liked Tampa....

Sorry if I'm repeating myself, but are there any word or number games I can try when I'm feeling stressed out? I've tried counting the # of letters in a word/phrase/name or reciting a times table from 2 to 15 but these 2 were old hat by 1987. Can you help
Try listing prime numbers in various sequences.
1st in order, trying to always get at least one more.
Then you can do every other prime or every third prime.
If you are only a little stressed, count all even primes. O_o

How can I change the way that I act? I do a lot of things that I shouldn't and I react to things in the wrong way. I want to know if there is anything that I can do to get to where I want to be and if there are any steps I can to take?
I would recommend taking the time to look yourself in the eye in a mirror and ask yourself if you are proud of the person you were that day before you go to sleep.
Then think about something that you could have handled better, and how you might handle that situation better if you had the chance to try it again as you fall asleep.
Asking a question like this is a really good start!

Does the color of a laser affect the velocity of its wavelength?
Not sure how you mean this, but the short answer is no. Wave length is a distance and therefor velocity is not a meaningful measurement.
The photons in the beam of a laser travel at the speed of light.
Different color lasers are created by exciting particles of different gases. Every gas has a specific wavelength inherit to it.
Hope that helps somewhat.

Yes she can, but is not legally obligated too. From a business point of view it would be smarter for her to leave you locked in so that if the other breaks the agreement she can still require you to pay. You are the one appealing to break the existing contract. She is being nice to allow you to do this without penalty.

Mentally ill homeless people used to be committed to asylums. Today, why not require them to live in local supervised living quarters? They'd take their meds, get off booze, wouldn’t freeze or starve, and wouldn’t be a public nuisance.
Back in the day, asylums were mostly run by churches or private groups. With increasing oversight by gov. in response to some abuses and poor conditions, it became too difficult for many of these institutions to comply. Left now to social services not nearly enough service is provided.
Government sucks at taking care of people...PERIOD.

Why do guys feel like they have to have their whole life in order before they get into a committed relationship? Or is that just an excuse for "I want to keep sleeping with you but I don't want you to be my girlfriend"?
There is still a bit of a stigma with regards to a man being a provider, but I would say that is more with regard to marriage. As far as being a boyfriend, there really is no excuse.

Gay marriage is now legal in Canada, How many of you are ok with the Idea of the concept of gay marriage to be considered the same as the union of a man and a woman? Will this affect you in any way? How does this make you feel?
I do not think that the term "Marriage" has any place in legal vernacular. It is a term born from religion and is exclusive of those not meeting the still religious definition. In order to fairly maintain a separation of church and State as set forth in the First Amendment, I would strike the word marriage from all legal debate. We are required by law currently to get a marriage...

Not true, but the general aquarium people say that because it limits their liability because they are often required by law to replace fish that die within a specific time frame of purchase. The incidence of death becomes much less if an aquarium is allowed to stabilize for 1 week after set up and before adding fish. You can just tell them that the tank has been set up for a week. But IMHO...

It's one hell of a question. First, it definitely depends on the time and culture you are born into. Actions considered evil in our modern society were nothing worth mentioning in times past. As ideas of acceptable actions and behaviors change, so too does the definition of evilness.

My '01 Chevy Malibu accelerates WITHOUT my foot on the gas! It FEELS like when you're in cruise control on and even when you put the brakes on the engine keeps pushing. This wears on my brakes and tends to make my car overheat...PLEASE HELP!
That's dangerous! You need to follow your acceleration control cable from the firewall into the engine compartment and to the throtle body and check to make sure nothing is caught on it. At the throtle body, there is usually a throttle return spring that must be attached at both ends and free from obstruction. Other than that, take it in for service.

I haven't noticed that in particular, but I have noticed that in countries where dogs are not considered valuable as pets people don;t really like them. This is probably because dogs in these countries are wild and dangerous to people in packs.

Can you explain the following lyric? "The sidewalk regrets that we had to kill them."
here are the full lyrics;
the woods eats the woman and dumps her honey-body in the mud
her dress floats down the well and it assumes the shape of the body of a
little girl
yeah I recognize that girl
she stumbled in some time last loneliness
but I could not stand to touch her now
my one and onlyness.
deep in the woods
deep in the woods
deep in the woods a funeral is swinging.

Why do some men prefer blondes over brunettes?
For the same reasons that some men prefer brunettes over blonds... we all have our own preferences.
The bigger question is why has this societal stereotype developed that lends preference to blonds in terms of desirability and beauty. I fear this is a remnant of Americas European heritage from the days when blond and blue eyed were considered pure-er bloodlines.
