Wave length is a distance and therefor velocity is not a meaningful measurement. The photons in the beam of a laser travel at the speed of light. I am going for a hip xray tomorrow... What can I expect? Most likely a longish wait in a waiting room followed by someone taking an xray of your hip. You lay on the table in a couple positions and they snap the "pics". no biggie.

The bigger question is why has this societal stereotype developed that lends preference to blonds in terms of desirability and beauty. I fear this is a remnant of Americas European heritage from the days when blond and blue eyed were considered pure-er bloodlines.
