Why are Republican spin media trying to deny the record-setting heat wave of 2011?
Please don't spam (as Thunder_Kiss_65 did) the exact fake report that the article I linked to proves was neither scientific nor what NASA data provides evidence for. In addition, the so-called "peer reviewed" publication is not actually peer reviewed in addition to being a publication created by and for conservative politicians being funded by oil, gas, and coal companies.

FDR: "Government by Organized Money is Just as Dangerous as Government by Organized Mob" Agree/Disagree Why?
Agree. What is a corporation if not a mob organized around money? History is filled with corporations employing mob tactics to make the corporation bigger and wealthier, whether it's hiring child labor and sweat shops or "hacking" 9/11 victims phone lines and bribing government officials.

The manufacturers have to pay a royalty check if they've licensed a toilet patent, but not the plumbers, who are buying the toilet from the manufacturer who has presumably added the license fee to the price of the toilet charged the plumber.
Patents, however, expire a lot faster than copyrights, so you could argue that if you were being sued by the Happy Birthday song owners.

It certainly was an incentive not to do more to prevent the spill. The basic idea of capitalism is that companies will do what makes them money and not do what loses them money. I'd say this is an example where there they had no risk of losing money by choosing the cheapest, most dangerous approach.

2 days is too soon. Not impossible, but the reason STDs tend to spread is that there is no immediate sign. It's not too soon to be tested. If you had unprotected sex, better to test early than wait for the symptoms to start showing.

Is freedom and abstract idea?
Both. People certainly can feel free even when not and there are definitely different ideals of what freedom is. The people in Egypt are certainly feeling free now, but from an American perspective they're still relatively restricted. OTOH, there are specific measurements of freedom including movement, what you can and cannot do. In the strictest sense, if there's anything you can and want...

In the name of fighting abortion, House passes measure restricting D&C medical training. What do you think of this?
I think we're fortunate that the Democratic Senate will almost certainly not pass it and President Obama will definitely veto if by some chance it does get a Senate majority.
How about we restrict funding political science majors, religion, economists, MBAs, and lawyers?

2. If they haven't been though this before, they'll give you that lost look and not sure response and you'll know that you need to find yourself a different doctor(s) before it's too late.

The nature of your question indicates you've already been mentally played. Are you looking for the one, true bf to marry? The real question is whether you are attracted to him and like him. It depends on what you need to do and the speed of your connection. If you limit yourself to Web and email and are very selective on Web videos and music downloads, you can easily stretch it out to the end of the month for $2.50. If you do a lot of streaming and file sharing on a typical broadband connection, you could easily owe another $1,000 from now to the end of the month.

Could we eliminate the national debt by hosting a Sarah Palin dunk tank?
Probably not that much, but the profits would be enough to help the recovery from the offshore drill oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Clearly, it would benefit the country; something a real, true, patriotic American would do. So don't expect it any more than Sean Hannity ever getting water boarded.

To be more accurate, 21-22 weeks is the lowest a fetus from a premature birth has survived. Premature births at under 6 months (roughly 26 weeks 30.4-28 x 6 = 14.5) rarely survive. The just under 22 week case was a record setter. So, based on that alone, 26 weeks should be the limit.

Answer to:
Would you trust Glenn Beck to run the US economy?
I'd trust him to increase the value of every other world currency against the dollar, so I'd move and convert my money immediately. He's an award winning nut.
Answer to:
Do you think George W. Bush should be charged with war crimes if it can be proved that water boarding occurred at Gitmo when he was in power? Why or why not?
Yes, and I'd charge Cheney too. The lost emails are now being restored, who knows what other things they've hidden.
Answer to:
Should we stop the War?
Yes. To avoid repeating myself, here's why.
Answer to:
Do you believe the Afgan war is winnable?
Now that we have a competent commander in chief getting rid of shills and no-bid contracts, yes. We really shouldn't be fighting it, however. It's a very unnecessary war and will go down in history as such, win, lose, or draw. Another half-assed, poorly thought out power grab started by the dumbest president in history.
Answer to:
By the end of 2010 the U.S. would have spent an est. $907.3 billion on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. If you had been in charge of the U.S. since 2001, how would you have chosen to spend that money?
If I or any competent President would have been in charge, the terrorist report would have been read, the attacks stopped, and the money could have been used for paying off debt, public medical care, and renewable power. We definitely wouldn't be in a recession with the value of our dollar dropping.

When can we expect the "wraith of god" to actually come? Is anybody willing to provide a specific forecast like a scientist?

It's not. Alcohol is even less nutritious than meat. She got punked again recently and she had to hire a ghostwriter to write her book. When she's not really that stupid, she's really lying, claiming she's on a bus tour when in fact she's getting a free corporate luxury jet tour. She's not even smart enough to lie about things that the truth can't be easily discovered.

No, because the "falsification" occurs because of a limitation in our observation as opposed to an "uncertainty" or known random event. Can George W. Bush pardon himself?
No, which is why impeached Presidents stay impeached. For lesser crimes, yes. While he was still President, he may have been able to pardon himself from war crimes with enough legal help. Now, he's SOL on free legal help and not protected in any way from being prosecuted for war crimes.

City running/jogging - healthy or unhealthy?
Unhealthy. Exercise where you're not jogging through clouds of second hand smoke, SUV exhaust, and homeless urine. Cities typically have trails/parks/ponds/lakes that help separate you from all that, so it's not as if you have to drive 20 miles out to a farm. If you want to show off your body, go for a post-jog/run stroll through the mall or skyscraper land.

By now, we've all heard about the officer in California who shot a man while the man was lying down with his hands behind his back. One explanation is that the officer thought he was going for his Taser. Is that plausible?
No. Even if the taser is roughly similar, do they both have safety switches and identical layouts and weights?
.
Is an officer with a guy who is already on the ground with both hands behind his back in such a hurry that a quick visual check can't be made of what they're holding? I don't buy it. Surprise can be faked and can also be mistook for other reactions. Isn't...

Philosophers can be a bit more conceptual in their definition, not having to be concerned as much about the practical aspects of determining consciousness. In the philosophical sense, I'd define it as responsive to simple commands involving one's self.

All you really need is a single solar system. If it's all by itself, it's a galaxy. If it's near other solar systems and they remain together, whether by orbiting a black hole or otherwise, they're a galaxy. It's more a matter of probability and size. I'm sure there are some loner solar systems out there.

Divide the number by the percent, but the percent needs to be converted to its standard number form (37.5% = .375).
.
A shorthand way to get an approximation is to ask yourself how many times would you multiply the percent to get 100% and then take that number times the number, which in this case you'd say about but under 3, so the answer would be near but under 2100 and more than 1400....

Jeb, despite being a little smarter, is also more corrupt. He would have done what Cheney wanted willingly instead of out of lazyness and stupidity. Agree. Pro-abortion opens up another avenue to the woman and recognizes her ability and right to make a decision for herself as a human being. Does Palin's 17 year old unwed and pregnant daughter show that "abstinence-only" sex education is ineffective in preventing teenage pregnancy?
In terms of science, it's more evidence that supports the existing theory that abstinence fails. Lucky for them, they live where they do or she may have an STD in addition to the mono she supposedly had for 4-5 months during her mom's supposed pregnancy with Trig. ;)

Yes. Maybe appropriate too. It's like Cheney's lesbian daughter. Republicans are so pathetically stupid that irony drips off them.

News today that GW Bush wants to bring in policy that would ensure America would be on a 'indefinite state of war' and the removal of habeas corpus -- (detainment without explanation or charge) Can this be revoked if Obama gets to be President?
Regardless of how current that news is, that's been the case since long before the 2004 election. Yes, Obama can reverse it and employ it against Bush & Cheney simply via the same "executive privilege" Bush-Cheney have been abusing. To get rid of the Patriot Act, he needs a majority of real Democrats in the House and Senate, not the butt sniffing party-changers like...

I'm willing to go on the line and say it will hurt. The people who wanted Hillary are not neocons, and Palin is a neocon. And the thought of her as President if McCain dies is not pleasant. The worst VP choice since Quayle.

Flag. Why waste everybody's time? Posting an answer that it's been flagged as a duplicate and linking to the other question would be considerate to the person and those that might waste time answering it.

Answer to:
What is your definition of a nonsense question on AB (flagging)? I thought that there's no such thing as a stupid question?
A question that answers itself. That could be spam or offensive too, but it's possible to be all 3. If it's not, the other 2, it's nonsense. It could also be a question that simply can't be deciphered or is meaningless within a day or a few hours, such as:

Definitely. Those questions take away from the quality and are generally a waste. The "wrong category" helps to shift them into a somewhat more appropriate and meaningless area, but they still clog the bag's tubes and make it more like a dump bag.

A lot. Relatively few get rescued from the pounds in favor of getting a new pup or buying a specific breed as a pup. There really should be stricter licensing on owning them.
