Can someone suggest a good 'magical, mystical fiction' book to read? Something like Twilight or Harry Potter or something?
I recommend anything by British author Terry Pratchett, especially his Discworld series. They honestly make me laugh out loud. They are set on a mystical world that happens to be a flat disc inhabited by people, trolls, wizards, vampires, werewolves, etc.

Answer to:
Is the new Answerbag overwhelming?
Where is the list of questions asked by my friends? How do I quickly and easily switch between categories? Why should I have to pick a "greatest answer" when I don't know what someone is going to answer tomorrow?
| 1 person likes this
Answer to:
Isn't it hilarious how some people are completely incapable of adapting to a new interface and can't find obvious options on the page?
There's no way to edit an answer now. There's no way to see a list of questions asked by my friends. There's no way to upload a video or a picture. There's a lot to dislike about this new format.

Answer to:
I miss the excitement that my question or answer was responded. Do you?
Yes, I now have no idea when I get an answer to my questions.

Answer to:
Do you find the new AB user friendly and easier to navigate ?
There's no way to edit. There's no way to upload vidoes and pics. There's no easy way to know when I have new answers or comments to my questions. There's no simple way to view my friends' questions. Navigating between categories is now a nightmare. This format is pitiful.

How do we know we are "special"? Other people tell us we are. Academy Awards...Nobel Prizes...Pulitzer Awards...all as a result of other people telling us how special we are. Without others, is there a "special"?
Recognition and praise from others helps us feel better about ourselves. If we pursue that above all else, we can develop a problem. But I don't see any problem with wanting a little recognition.
Yes, I believe it takes a village, as they say, to make us each special.

If you have the divorce papers which state that the house was to be the sole possession of your ex, then all you need to do it provide the finance company with a copy of that.
If your divorce papers state the house was his, then it was his. Plain and simple.
You might need a lawyer to get it all cleared up, however. Go to your divorce lawyer first for help.

No, my parents always took me to the barber shop on the square in the little town where we lived. I used to sit on a board they put across the arms of the big porcelain chair. As I remember, I always got a buzz cut in the summer, but it was still really short the rest of the year, too.

Situations arise and breed great people to fill those roles necessary to carry out the great enterprises of the moment. It would thus be necessary to first look at the great events of the years since 1750. Then a look at the people who had a part in...

Wondering why I support National Health care? It's because private insurance does everything in it's power to deny coverage. Anyone agree? See link; Not an unusual story.
It's a heartbreaking and all-too-familiar story in the US. We have to acknowledge that it is not in the best interest of for-profit health insurers to pay for expensive medical procedures and will often deny those or simply cancel coverage.
It's also a shame that we don't seem to be able to have a civil discussion about the issue. The debate is too heated.

Answer to:
I read 3 Pentacles as Apprentice and 8 Pentacles as Craftsman, in accordance with my Morgan-Greer Tarot deck.
However most decks seem to reverse these two meanings, and I wonder why, when 3's indicate Developing and 8's represent Resolving.
It is completely possible for different Tarot decks to have different interpretations. For example, the 8 of Disks (Pentacles) in the Thoth Tarot deck means prudence.
I often read the 3 of Pentacles as simply work and the 8 of Pentacles as master of his craft.

Are you ever surprised you never thought of something before? I was in my 20s before I realized that there are both Hersheys & Nestles bars, both the names John (my middle name) & Jonathan, and that anti-perspirants & deodorants are different.
I remember being horrified after I learned to read that my mother had been taking me to the ladies' room all those years.

I'm deciding between attending University of Hawaii at Manoa and University of Hawaii at Hilo. Which one do you suggest? Can you tell me a little about each one of these schools? Thank you!
It depends entirely on what you want to study and what type of city you want to live in.
They are both excellent schools. The main difference is the size. UH Manoa is much larger and is in Honolulu, a large city with all the advantages of city life. UH Hilo is smaller with smaller classes, but is also in a small town with little to do.
I suggest you study Peterson's Guide to Colleges...
