What effect does a crack in the body of a drum (tom) have on the sound quality? bad effect...depends if its all the way through...interior to exterior, top to bottom. You just have to think about this...the sound quality of your drum will diminish slightly with every hole crack and piece of hardware thats on it. That's why low mass lugs, rim mounts, and single screw lugs are what a lot of drum companys are doing.

Perfect Pitch is being able to hear a note and know what that note is without any reference. Some one plays an A on the piano, you know its an A without looking.
