Answer to:
If you had a live-in household robot that does all the cooking, cleaning, yardwork, laundry, etc would you want it to look and act exactly like a human, or would you want it to look more mechanical?
That depends. If I had a family I'd probably want it to just look mechanical. I don't want little baby Tommy to accidentally call the robot 'Momma'. But if I'm single and live alone, then it wouldn't hurt for possible predators and other ne'er-do-wells to see a man-figure in the house.

When you rate something up or down, do you automatically give the maximum number of points allotted, or does a question/response have to "earn" your max points?
I usually "max" them. To me they have to "earn" a lower rating. Just like something has to be really bad for me to downrate.

Do you find it difficult to apologize when you are wrong?
It's very hard for me to appologize. I feel like when I've done something wrong then I won't be accepted anymore, so I certainly don't want to bring attention to myself my appologizing. My first reaction is to "run" from the rejection coversation entirely, and just accept it unsaid.
The same with someone doing something that I don't like. I'm afraid...

Unfortunately I've done all of the above in my short lifetime. ;) But fortunately, I do learn from my mistakes. Or maybe I don't; maybe that's why God has blessed me with a good boyfriend; He knows I'm such a relationship spaz.

Answer to:
Have you ever felt like you are loosing control over yourself?
Everyday. I either give control to the deperession or to God. I don't like knowing that I can't solve my problems, erase my debt, create more money, change my brain, rewind the conversation where I said what I said, but I know that God is bigger than me, and those problems, and the depression that magnifies them. And that gives me a little peace.

Answer to:
Is "time-out" an effective discipline strategy for children?
I think time-out is tricky. It's something that the parent has to obey in order for it to work for the child. If you cave when little Suzy whines to get up, then you've just destroyed time-out. Define it clearly: the where, the how long, and the indication of when time-out is over.

Is it a good idea to stop talking to your kids if they do something wrong? If yes, for how long?
No. Absolutely not. Now, if they make you so angry you might burst it's okay to take some cooling off time before you address the situation with them. It's important to communicate that their actions were wrong but (and this is gonna sound corny) that you still love them. Some kids think that when they screw up (and everyone screws up) they lose a parents' love. If you ignore...

It depends on the ages of everyone involved, and the family dynamic. I believe that spanking can be useful, and if you teach your teenager how to spank appropriately and not out of anger (ie, not to beat your other children) then I think it's okay.

In what ways is the Bible hypocritical?
In no ways. The prophecies in the Old Testament are fulfilled. Teachings in the Gospels are expounded upon the Epistles. 'Study to show thyself approved'. Good question. Keep searching - search the Bible; you won't find a single contradiction if you read it in context.

What does Hebrews 10:24 teach us?
to "...provoke unto love and to good works..." KJV...To encourage each other, lift up one another's spirits, and to do what we are supposed to. If you notice, verse 25 talks not neglecting "the assembling of ourselves together" - fellowship with other Christians, or church gatherings. We are meant to help each other, learn from and teach each other.

Why do gays and lesbians really think God approves of their lifestyle when everything in the Bible says it's wrong?
Thinking God "approves" of one's lifestyle isn't a GLB problem, it's human nature. We all try to justify the things we do that either we know are wrong, or that others try to tell us are wrong. We think, 'Oh, that rule doesn't apply to me because...' or 'Oh, well, that wasn't a very specific rule so...'
As Christians our job is twofold:...

As to issue of gay people - they are people. All people need God. As to issue of them marrying - Biblically, no. Constitutionally (in the US), yes. However, I think our laws should reflect the Bible more. There is no way to ever completely separate spirituality, morality, and law in this country.

I believe it's actually a musical, but this one has little dialogue and is intense ~ 'Sweeney Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street'. Not actually about a demon, just a bad man. Dark humor, lassic Sondheim with great lyrics, the music has incredible power. I think Wagner is a bit overpowering (and full of himself). But what musician isn't? :)

In what ways do women and men 'control' differently?
Do you mean each other, or their 'space'? Me, I like to control my environment. At work, especially, I hate clutter. With other people, I'm a pleaser which can be good and bad. I have to remember that sometimes, people really just want my opinion. But I don't feel like I'm necessarily a reflection of ALL women. My bff and I are almost opposites.

Jack and Jill went up the hill, did Jack push Jill or were they just clumbsy?
What has always disturbed me about this one is that they were on a HILL. For the kid to have BROKEN his HEAD at the bottom he would had to land on it, on a rock or something. Were they playing on a hill above cliffs? And whatever happens to Jill? Does she split her head open as well? And do they DIE? Get concussions? Go blind? How do they get home?

How is music used to enhance the visuals in a movie?
I disagree with Luigi on one point: I think it's okay if the music is noticed and remembered. Take the Jurassic Park theme; everyone can call it to mind and whenever you hear it you're reminded of a great adventure film. Same with Indiana Jones. Lots of movies had great themes that people might always remember (that's part of what makes them Oscar-worthy).

When my 13yr old stepdaughter comes over, she will not bathe or brush her teeth, she is very needy and sits in a dark corner of our bedroom and does not talk the whole weekend. How can we stop this behavior?
The most important thing for her is that everyone in her life be on the same page. Speak with her other parent (whom she lives with during the rest of the week). How does she behave there? What is she like at school? Is she a behavior problem or just emotionally difficult? once you have pinpointed at least what looks like the problem, you all can begin to brainstorm what might be a solution.

Your significant other gets into an accident, hits their head, and wakes up with the ability to read your mind (no other injuries or effects). Not everyone's, just yours. Is this good or bad? Would your relationship survive?
It'd be easier. I have trouble verbalizing my thoughts sometimes. If he could just know them and react to them and we could discuss them without me having to say them that might speed up the process.

Definitely the haunted house. I wear glasses so my vision isn't that great when I first wake up anyway; I'd probably assume someone was playing a joke on me (til they tried to take me away). And I've never been in a earthquake, but I imagine I'd slip and fall and break something, being in more pain than fear.

Psalms is on the right track: the Bible says if you have an issue with your brother then speak with him privately. If he won't listen, then get a mediator (like your Pastor). The term as I've always heard it (and I am black) is used to describe tight, wildish curls (natural) or unkempt hair (hair in need of a press, relaxer, braid, or BRUSH). So, if a stranger, teacher, or acqaintance - someone with whom I am not fairly close at least to joke with - said that me I'd be kind of offended. It depends on what you like. CD's are great for obvious reasons. But there is a truer (not purer) sound quality in vinyl. You get to hear the quick breaths and other quirks that are usually now only part of the concert-going experience because they're edited out. You sometimes feel more connected to the artist. Plus the actual sound is DIFFERENT, not worse. I grew up listening to some...

Yes, I think it is gone (or going). Just like respect for the position of teacher, military man/woman, or preacher. Not only is there a lack of automatic respect for people in noble (or what were held to be noble) positions, but there is at times automatic disprespect due to misuse of power by people who have held these positions in the past.

It depends on the right. They should be connected: promiscuous people don't get to procreate. They should just make a choice -hot, sterile love or babies, ever. Because so many people get drunk and wake up with a baby that they treat like an STD they spend the next 18 years trying to cure; it's disgusting; while others can't concieve and wait for years trying to adopt.

Answer to:
If Adam had not sinned, would he eventually have gone to heaven?
I don't believe that he isn't in Heaven. The fact that we sin isn't what keeps us from Heaven, it's our unbelief that Jesus is the only one who can can save us from that sin. Adam was human, as we all are. He loved God, though he often made mistakes; and God provided for the Old Testament (BC) believers to get Heaven, too.

A girl grabbed my butt in the club over the weekend; why are women allowed this but men get slapped when they do it?
I think it's too forward either way. That kind of touching says 'I want you' if not 'You're already mine', and to expect a stranger to be okay with that is unacceptable.
Answer to:
Why is there a differance between the way women greet women and women greet men in social situations?
Probably because we are so careful not send "wrong signals" to those who could be attracted to us. I will more readily hug a (straight) female acquaintance than a (straight) male acqaintance so as to not press my body too closely to his that sort of thing.

I drink bottled water to have it handy and encourage myself to drink more water daily. I buy a big jug and refill it all day with whatever water is on hand. My roommate HATES tap; she only drinks certain brands of bottled water and neither one of us really uses our ice.

My best friend and boyfriend have been extremely helpful. They both watch me closely, and encourage honesty; reminding me that it's okay to feel down or angry as long as I'm not trying to stay there. Should people genetically engineer a cure for homosexuality?
I think it's a waste of genetic engineering. Could we genetically weed out certain skin pigmentations and hair textures? Sure, and maybe Hitler was born in the wrong decade. But maybe, we should be focusing on what's crippling and KILLING people, instead. Homosexuality is just another aspect of humanity.

What's the best cure for hiccups?
Works every time for me and I tell everyone I know: swallow as much sugar (granulated, not powdered)as you can as quickly as possible. Don't let it sit in your mouth and dissolve into a comfortable paste. The idea is to make your mouth, throat, and diafragm work hard to get that sugar down. It should stop the muscles from constricting. And you'll never look at sugar the same way...

I just found out my sister-in-law won't give her 11-year old daughter the HPV vaccine (which can prevent cervical cancer) because she thinks it gives her permission to be promiscuous. Isn't it more important to keep your child healthy?
I could be wrong here, but one of the leading causes of cervical cancer is promiscuity. HPV is an STD. I solute your sister-in-law. She has probably decided to forego the vaccine and teach her daughter how not to need it.

Depends on what the music is, but what you're looking for might be 'recitative'. This means you can take the melody at whatever pace (and sometimes meter) needed to express the music appropriately. It is said by some Christians that if you dont accept Christ as Saviour its eternal damnation in hell. Isnt that a bit harsh for a loving God and whats the thinking behind this strong doctrine?
Yes, God is a loving God. And yes, hell, while not intended for people (because people were not intended to turn against God) is punishment for sins. Our parents love us; when we were little and we disobeyed there were negative consequences. He is the ultimate Father (of us all). Singwell summed it up quite nicely. God loves us whether we love or accept Him, and he always wants our love in return.

God is acknowledging the fact that people get distracted. Our 'god' is whatever we center our lives around. That could be another person (ie, bf/bf, king), money, a job. Placing something as more valuable than the one true God is wrong.

Decide for yourself the parameters of your emotional and physical relations with a guy (yes, it's okay to decide you don't want to have sex even though you've done it already). Okay, there are only five years between 18 and 23, right? There are also only five years between 13 and 18. Get it? My boyfriend is the kind of super-jealous type; i wanna know whether is he really care that much or he just wanna have fun talking back at me?
It's hard for teenagers to know appropriate ways to show each other affection. But if he is super-jealous, taking a harsh and possesive tone, not believing you when you tell him about your platonic relationships with other guys: he sees you as his. Not just as his girlfriend and partner through these rough teenage years but HIS; his property, his girl, his and nobody else better mess with...

Answer to:
What college is good for graphic designing in texas?
If you don't have a reliable counselor, I would suggest starting with a plain old google search. You can make your search as broad or specific as you like, mentioning Texas, graphic design, a specific city. Also, my boyfriend attends the Art Institute of Houston (for computer graphics and animation) and he absolutely loves it. He graduates in May.
Answer to:
Why does summer break in Texas last three months
I was under the impression that everyone pretty much got nine months on, three months off. Now, if your school is on a year-round calendar then your distribution is different; but there shouldn't be more or less schoolin going on.

Ive been w/ my grlfriend for about a year, & shes a partier/drinker/hooka/weed smoker but I have Ulcerative Colitis, so i can't drink, & I HATE smoking. She gets really crazy at parties & its ruining our relationship. Ive talked to her but it never works
You're not lost. Often we feel lost when we have an answer that we simply don't like. Will it be easy to break up with this girl? NO. Will it be easy to deal with her reactions, her possibly very negative attitude or (even worse) seductive attitude towards you in college? Certainly not. My words to you may sound harsh, but you need to be man enough to save your own life. And on a...

Why do u think my 29year husband is txting a 16 year old girl. I asked him to stop and he agreed n months down the line he his still txting her.
Even if nothing physical is going on he is cheating - cheating, cheating, cheating. If I'm on the phone flirting with another man that's cheating. That's giving someone else the affections that belong to my man. The question goes back to you. What will you do?

So theres this boy thats really hot and i really like him and he likes me but were both in a relationship what should we do. both of our relationships are over a year long now should we just be friends or become more?
If you can do the following without explosions of teenage sexual energy, here it is: examine each relationship. Hotness aside, will this new guy be a better friend, a better boyfriend than your current beau? Hotness aside, what does he have over your current boyfriend? Is there something you've been missing, wishing for? If so, can the old guy give it to you or change? IF HE CAN'T,...

What were some of the reasons you were teased, picked-on or ridiculed while you were in school?
Big glasses (BIG glasses). Now they're small and sexy and sophisticated. Being shorter than the other kids (let's face it, being short). Now that's part of my appeal. My last name. Yeah, you just gotta deal with your last name. Own it - it owns you.

Answer to:
What term used to refer to effort to deffine the nature of jesus and his relationship with god?
I'm not certain I understand the question, but I will answer what I think you want are asking: there is what is referred to as the "divine" nature of Christ. That means that not only is he the Son of God by his conception and birth, but that He is God - one and the same. John 1:1 says 'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and Word was God'. John...

Answer to:
Do you find it easy to forgive?
Absolutely not. First I have to decide to forgive. Then I pray that God will make that change in my heart for me. It isn't easy. But once we start to at least act as if that person is forgiven, we can live a bit less burdened by their trespass everyday.
Answer to:
I am having tenderness on the outside of my throat that makes it hard for me to sing. What could be wrong?
I preface this with: I am NOT a doctor; but here are my thoughts. Tenderness could be bruising; do you play sports? Do you play rough with your pets, siblings, friends? It could also be a glandular problem. Swollen glands could be an indication of a viral or bacterial infection. Either way, if it's bad enough to effect your singing, definitely consult your doctor.

I am a high soprano. Lately, when I get to a high A or above, my larynx feels like it's moving a little, like a clump in my throat. What is this? What do I do?
It could be that you are reaching your current limits and, like any other muscle in your body, you just need to exercise it more. I assume that you are working with a director, coach, or in the least an accompanist. When you warm up, start in the middle of your range (like with other parts of your body, you never want to start with extremes. Then move further up and further down. Eventually set...

I have swelling on my left vocal cord and to the right my ent dr noticed a scratch. do u no what cud of caused this scratch?any tips on how i can avoid this in the future as it has really affected my singing voice
Well, I'm surprised your doctor didn't offer any suggestions, but aside from sickness using your voice incorrectly will do it. Harsh singing (instead of using your diaphragm) along with screaming and whispering all cause the vocal chords to rub and bang together in harmful ways. Complete rest (or as much as possible), NO whispering, and then proper singing should get you back on the...
