I have been burning dvds by writing .iso files. I just bought a new Dell Inspiron 1405.I know that there are dvd burners that burn with light scribe or something like that.Well, can I still write .isos with my new Dell that doesnt have light scribe?
The Lightscribe feature allows you to flip the top of specially made Lightscribe discs over in your burner and etch a cover onto them using the drive's laser. You will still be able to write .isos to discs as long as you have a DVD burner.

My ps3 keeps saying error 80010514 wot shud i do?
I don't know much about the PS3 or this problem, but I googled the code and found that this seems to be a fairly common problem. I can't find anyone who agrees on it's cause, but it is either caused by the lens dying, (No surprise there. Just look at how great the PS and PS2 lasers were.) a faulty sector in the hard drive, or a bad firmware upgrade.
Sony has told some people...

How does the Nintendo DSi differ from the previous versions of the DS?
From what I know:
*The DSi features larger screens than the DS and DS Lite, and is much slimmer.
*It features two cameras, one on the outside of the case and one on the inside top lid.
*The DSi features an SD card slot on its side and allows users to play certain video and audio files as well as functions as a picture viewer. (I don't know what formats it uses.)
*The DSi has a...

How much sleep should i have? I usually have 14 hours of sleep a day, im 17.
As you are a teen, it's typical for you to sleep a lot.
However, if you find it to be a problem, you should talk to a doctor about it. There may be a medical reason for your need for so much sleep such as depression or a sleep disorder.
Other than that, try changing some things in your life style. For me, if I cut out a lot of carbonated, sugary, and caffienated drinks, I tend to...

How come some say the 80gb ps3 has backward compatibility and others say it doesn't
There are two 80GB PS3's: The first came out in August 2007, which does play PS2 games through software emulation. The second (and most recent) one came out in August 2008, and does not play PS3 games.
Just to note, neither of the PS3s currently in production offer backwards compatibility.

What's the best rpg ever?
Absolutely no one will agree with me, but I've found Unlimited Saga to be an excellent RPG. It features great hand drawn portraits and character sprites, a deep, complex battle system (Not your usual RPG fare where you can just levelgrind your way to the end.) and excellent music by Masashi Hamauzu.
The game received a lot of bad press since it wasn't a typical RPG. I will admit,...

If you are under 18, you are required by law to wear a bicycle helmet whether you are operating the bicycle or a passenger. The fine for not wearing one is no more than $25.
However, there is a law in Texas that is similar, but I never saw it strictly enforced. That said, I think you should wear a helmet whether the law says so or not, because it might save your life one day.

Crash Bandicoot definitely was not the first 3D video game. There were tons of 3D games before it. Even on the Playstation, Battle Arena Toshinden and Jumping Flash came out a full year before and boasted 3D graphics.
Technically, 3D Monster Maze was the first 3D game:

A game would not install software onto your PS2 (unless we're talking about FF XI, which definitely does not make games not load) so that's definitely not what happened.
Instead, your PS2 is suffering from the dreaded DRE. The PS2's laser only has a limited usage span before it dies (Which goes for all CD/DVD/Blu-ray/HD-DVD/Game Console players, but the PS2's seems to be...

Your tray is more than likely out of alignment. A few things you might try:
1.) Try re-orienting your PS2, Sometimes, the tray might go in while the console is at an angle, or something strange like that.
2.) Gently (yet forcefully enough) force the tray back and forth to get it back into alignment. You may need to shut off the console to do this.
3.) This is a last resort method. Open...

Why do some people consider it stealing when you take food from the cafeteria back to your dorm, considering you already paid for it?
In a buffet style setting, if they allow someone to take out a reasonably sized meal from their cafeteria, then they have to allow another person who cleans off the racks to take that meal home too.
They do the same thing in buffet resturants, and it's all about cutting costs in any way they can.
With that said, I do it all the time. :)

Apparently they've decided to go with a new one model approach. So now there's one 120 GB model that comes in black or gray. I'll leave the old models in the answer in case you are...

Why is Sony still making PS2 games?
The PS2 isn't dead yet. I've even heard that it is the #1 system at the moment, beating out every "next gen" console.
It's just like the end of the PS1, where tons titles, including some of the best, came out right when the PS2 was released.

If you really want to get your tongue pierced (and assuming you are at an age where you can decide for yourself or have your parent's permission.) Then perhaps you should go ahead and go for it. Some people will not approve of it, some will be apathetic about it and some, like you, will think it's cool. But this is about you and your body, so make changes for yourself, not for others....

Is there going to be another star fox game?
I sure hope so. But I really would prefer a simple, beat it in 1-2 hours game like the original Star Fox and Star Fox 64 that happens to take advantage of WiFi for deathmatch. The thing that keeps me going back to play Star Fox 64 is the wish to keep increasing my score, and I'm always learning new things about the levels each time I go through them. Where can you find and download cracks that will enable you to play any PS3 game on your PC?
You will not find any "cracks" that let your PC play PS3 games. Cracks would only work on PC games in the first place, and there is no PS3 emulator as of right now (And even if there was, your computer would have to be equipped with a blu-ray drive to rip the disc (unless you planned on downloading an image, which would not only be illegal, but extremely unfeasible, as PS3 games can...

Wear whatever you want to wear. No one should tell you want sort of underpants you should wear. I suggest you try out a pair of boxers (or even boxer-briefs) and just find what suits you.

Perhaps it's a problem with the disc itself?
If you bought it from a game store like GameStop or EBGames, take it back and see if they will try it on their display consoles. If it's some other place, if you can, try it on someone else's console to see if the same problem arises. Then, you'll have certifiable proof it's problem with the game.

As far as I know, the PS2 doesn't have a "format disc." If your PS2 is saying that you need to enter a "PS2 format disc," then it is saying that you need to enter a disc that can be read by your PS2, which would be PS2 DVD Games, PS2 CD Games, PSX CD Games, Audio CDs, and Video DVDs. It's "normal" to experiment with drugs and alcohol when you grow up, sure.
But, as to my suggestion, you most definitely should NOT start going down that road. There's plenty of time to start drinking alcohol when you're older, why rush it? Consider that there is a risk of getting caught, as it is illegal, not only for you, but your cousin as well for supplying you,...

To be safe, I would just ask him. Really, any console on the market could suit a male twenty year old college student, it really depends on what the person wants.
If he fits in the "typical statistic" of Young Males 18 - 25, he more than likely would be happier with a PS2, PS3, or XBOX 360. But, for all we know, he might be clandestinely pining for a Wii, despite it's...

GTA IV is for XBOX 360 and PS3. After the November release, it will be out on PC as well. There's nothing you can do to play the game on your PC at the moment. (Though, years down the line, we may see a functional PS3 or XBOX 360 emulator.)

I can get eight packs of Top Ramen for a dollar at my local supermarket. 6 packs of Maruchan for the same price.
But the "healthy" version costs 33 cents a package. (And tastes pretty good, surprisingly.)

I doubt these advertisements are making the AB team rich. This site is probably very costly to maintain.

Is it a bad idea to like someone over the internet, when you know they're not some weird pedophile?
No, not particularly.
But the internet allows you to be whatever you want to be. You need to be VERY careful. Many have found romance online, but many have also found frightening situations, possibly even resulting in their deaths.
If you are a minor, disregard this and tell your parents immediately.

What makes curse words so disturbing to people? they're just words. right?
They're *just* words?
But words are one of the most powerful tools that we have at our belt. So few words have the power to make us laugh, cry, smile, feel uncomfortable, feel ambivalent, and everything else in between. The sting of a physical attack will subdue over time, but the sting of derogatory comments may just last you a lifetime.

Be honest, you bang the heck out of your shin on something walking through your house in the dark, what's the first word that comes out of your mouth?
Usually the word "Holy" followed by some sort of swear, and/or something about sweet Aunt Jemima. Sometimes the word "Ancient" pops up in there.
I have no idea where or when I started saying this, but it is now grown deep into my vocabulary.

Our PS2 only plays discs with a black or blue bottom. With other discs, there's a disc read error or it freezes completely. What could be wrong?
Either you are trying to play a non-PS2 formatted disc, or your PS2 is suffering from the well-known DRE syndrome.
Here is a guide on fixing it, though there are probably better ones out there with pictures. This also assumes you do not have a slim PS2.

Since you don't seem to have any programming knowledge, I would suggest looking for a Maker-like program, which will allow you to click together games.
For RPGs, I know of:
RPG Maker (2000/2003/XP/XV)

Oh boy... you got it wrong.
DVD-ROM is the type of media that the game is printed on; it does not mean that it will work on your computer. The information on the disc is only compatible with the Playstation 2, and you cannot play the game on your computer.

Why is there such hatred and conflict between xbox360 owners and ps3 owners?
Because people get extremely immature about video games sometimes.
Today it's the Xbox360 vs. the PS3, yesterday it was the Xbox vs. the PS2, before that was the PS2 vs. the Dreamcast, before that was the Nintendo 64 vs. the Playstation, before that was the Saturn vs. the Playstation, before that was the SNES vs. the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive.

A Nintendo? Which console are we talking about? NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Wii, DS, Virtual Boy, GameBoy... or even a Game and Watch?
If it was a new item (In which case, I assume it's a Wii or DS), you need to call Nintendo's Technical Support. I believe you will still be under warranty. The number should be in the manual, but in case you've lost it, it's on the Nintendo...

What is the difference between barroque and classical music?
A lot. How much do you really want to know?
Baroque music lasted from around 1600 to 1750. Some of the "heavyweights" of this time you might know are Monteverdi, J.S. Bach, and Handel.
Classical Music lasted form around 1750 to 1820 or so. (Remember that these aren't real start and stop dates, there was quite a bit of overlap, and people didn't immediately start...

If you're really worried, the best birth control is abstinence.
It is possible for you to get pregnant, even if you use or a pill, or a condom, or whatever else. You're always going to take the risk, but I think it is up to you to decide if it's worth the 1% chance of having to go the anguish of a teen pregnancy at this time in your life.

Your GPA on a 100% scale is a 91, which is normally an A-, but it looks like on your scale it's a B+.
If you want it on a 4-point scale, it's about a 3.6 or 3.5.
To find out your GPA, add all of your grades together and then divide them by the amount of grades you have (in your case, 9) You'll then get it on a 100% scale. I found this chart for the 4.0 scale:

What is it about gas that makes cars run? Why not use water or koolaid?
I'm definitely no expert about this subject, but the fuel for a car has to be combustible. A car engine is basically setting off a bunch of mini-explosions where the fuel is gas. The gas is carried up to a spark plug, which ignites the fuel and fills the small column that it is in with gas. It does this very quickly and forcefully, which pushes down the pistons. The pistons turn a cylinder...

Another alternative is to just continuously and repeatedly try a disc cleaner, but this is a...

How do I install a new ps2 tray back in so it slides correctly. I can't seem to get it right.
As in, you're installing a whole new tray?
If I remember correctly, it's connected to a piece of plastic that has places for screws on the right side of the PS2 disc drive. It's connected to a metal rod, which is connected to a chain and a motor. Move that plastic piece part towards the front as far as it will go, line up the holes in the tray and the holes in that piece and...

I don't particularly have a problem with people who wish to smoke marijuana. She's not angry about the ingredients, she's angry about your boyfriend. Even if you go out and replace the ingredients, she will still be angry. Your mother is using the ingredients to hide behind so that she can really be angry at you about your boyfriend.
You need to talk with your mother about that problem.

You're PS2 is suffering from what many have dubbed DRE, or Disc Read Error. Basically, the lasers in the PS2 were shoddily made, and eventually, they'll stop reading discs. By "pps," do you mean PSP? I don't see how that would be possible, but I guess I haven't been around UMDs long enough to know how thick they are.
At any rate, unless you feel confident that you can manhandle it out while keeping the system intact, you're going to have to call tech support.

You should sit down, breathe, and take your life and break it up into little chunks. Break seemingly humongous tasks into simple small tasks. Then make a schedule around that.
Most people who say they are overwhelmed are really just looking too much at the big picture. It's the small things that make up the whole.

Cello strings do break, and must be replaced from time to time. Does anyone here know how to screen capture a PS2 game? Because whenever i try to normally video tape it, it's all messed up and low-quality. Please help people!
This may be a fault of your VCR. Some VCRs have a copy protection system that will garble some inputted signals. I'm not sure how low quality it is, but this is my guess as to what has happened.
Another option you can use is to get a TV Tuner. If you are on a laptop, I suggest the Adaptec Gamebridge. You can find it now for about $15 (At least the 1400, the 1410 model includes the...

I watched a DVD on my PS3, fell asleep, and in the morning when i tried to eject the DVD it wont eject. It seems like the disc is being lifted into place to be ejected but wont roll out of the console. Do you have any ideas on what I should do?
I suggest calling Sony. To remove this disc, you would probably have to open your console, and considering the price of it, I don't think it's worth the risk.
Answer to:
Why does the screen darken in split second flashes while playing my ps3? i've been told it's cause i don't run it with a hdmi cable...
That's hogwash. No cable should make your screen flicker. Try another cable, or try the cable on another TV and make sure if it's the cable or not.
If that doesn't work, make sure it's not the TV's fault.
After that, I suggest looking into the possibility that it could be you PS3.

My daughter got a playstation 2 game from the America and I just want to know can I play it on her playstation here in Ireland, Im afraid to try it just in case it will damage her playstation
Your American game will not work on the Ireland Playstation because the game is in NTSC format while the Playstation is in PAL format. There are discs that you can use to bypass this, as stated in a previous answer, but they are somewhat of a grey spot legally.
Answer to:
I have just bought a ps3 and it plays kane&lynch fine but will not play assassins creed, both are brand new games. i tried it on a hdtv and a normal tv and nothing happens please can anyone shed some light on this.
Try to see if the game works on another console if you can. If you bought it from a store, tell them it doesn't work for you, and they more than likely will test it.
If it does work for them, contact Sony, as you PS3 is the problem. If you've just bought it, then it will be under warranty, unless you bought it used.

The screen to my daughter's psp is black and green and looks like it is cracked, but the screen is not cracked, it seems to be internal. It was working fine a few hours ago, any ideas why this might have happened?
Even if the glass/plastic (I'm not sure what they use on the PSP) is not broken, pressing force on it can ruin the inner LCD...
The same thing happened to my first Gameboy Advance.
So I fear that might be what has happened. :(

My ps2 (fatty) Wont bring up the image of the menu nor play games. Dvd's play and i have sound even of the menu and games, but screen is blank. Plays dvd's perfectly. What can i do?
Make sure the Video cables are connected if you are using RCA, S-Video, or Composite cables. Also make sure your TV is accepting video input from the proper channel. If none of this works, try another cable to see if it is the cable. If none of this works, then you will have to take it to a repair shop.
Are you saying that you can see DVD's, but you can't see the menus are games?...

I just got my ps3 yesterday. It played my superbad bluray and my tony hawk game but when I put in madden 08 and the game that came with the package the sound fades in and out. Very scratchy sounding as if there is a bad connection.
Contact Sony or who you bought it from. (Though disregard this if you've got it off eBay or second hand) If you just got your PS3, it should be under warranty.
It may also be that it is the discs, so try the discs on another PS3 if you can.

This is piracy. It shouldn't be allowed on AB, but since everyone else does, I'm sure you'll get someone telling you to go to LimeWire or some torrent site.
But please remember that this IS piracy, and it is illegal to do so. The chances of you getting caught is slim, but it DOES happen, so be careful out there.

I have a PS2 game called Dark Cloud 2. The game has worked perfectly up until a certain point in the game. It sort of...freezes on a black screen. There is no 'disk error' message or anything. Is it something I'm doing wrong, or is it the disk?
Try using a Lens cleaner on your PS2 first. You may have to run it quite a few times.
After that, it sounds like it's probably your disc. See if you can get a machine to resurface it, or send it to be professionally resurfaced.
If the disc doesn't have any scratches at all, then you might have a DRE problem with your PS2. There's many guides that tell you how to fix this...
Answer to:
My playstation 2 disc tray keeps on opening and closing by itself, most of the time right in the middle of gameplay. Now the game can't even load the beginning, because it just keeps opening. Any suggestions?
See if the eject button is sticking or not. I doubt that's the problem, but it's a place to start.
Chances are it is something electrical. It might be a loose or bad connection between the silver ribbon behind the face buttons and the motherboard. Does the light flash as if you had pressed the button?
I'm not sure if you want to open up your PS2 or not, though.
EDIT:

I think spaghetti tastes better the next day if you store leftover noodles and sauce in separate tupperwares. What is the plural of "tuperware"?
I would believe Tupperware would be an adjective, thus it wouldn't be plural, just as it is not "blues skies" or "yellows buses". (At least in English, anyway.) When Tupperware ends up becoming a noun, we can start talking about the plurals. (And yes, I said when. Google became a verb, so anything can happen. :-} )

If the previous answer doesn't work, try using a disc cleaner to clean the lens and see if it will read it. After that, see if you can read the disc in another PS2/PS2 emulator to see if it works. You should get whatever console you want and not get tricked into all of this Holiday Rush stuff.
Which next gen console would you be happiest with? That should be the main deciding factor, not if they're sold out or not. A gaming console these days is a very big investment.

To cleam a bottom of a disk for games or movies what do you use to clean it and what do u do to clean it?
To clean the bottom of a disk, you should use very soft cotton fabric. Wipe the disc from the hole in the middle to the other edge of the disc. Never wipe a disc clockwise or counterclockwise as this can cause scratches.
If you're talking about resurfacing a disc, you can buy a machine like the Game/SkipDr.

My boyfriend has been locked up for 7 months i've had his back the entire time the problem is that i got up with a old friend (no sex) just spending time and the feelings have came back. Would it be wrong of me to break up with my boyfriend?
You have to take a step back and look at yourself. Are you feeling these feelings because you are missing being in an intimate relationship, or are you truly falling out of love with your boyfriend? You have to answer that before you even think about if you should break up with your boyfriend.

Am I the only one who has never watched anime and has no desire to do so?
May I ask why?
Please don't make the mistake of lumping things into "Anime." There may be things you like and things you don't like. Just as how you may not like everything in the "Action" genre, but you may like a few.

Is wii dangerous?
If you don't take all of the precautions necessary, it can be.
Make sure you're playing in a room with a lot of space. Also make sure that if you are playing with multiple people, you are far away from each other so that you don't accidently hit anyone. Always use the included wrist band so that the Wiimote will not fly out of your hands.

If you had a choice of being ugly or having a operation to make you look better but may kill you, what would you do?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
For everyone out there, there is someone who will find them attractive.
So no, I would have no such operation done, because I don't think anyone is truly "ugly."

My boyfriend has just dumped me for the 15th time this week and yet again took me back within the hour what would you do?Im confused?
Get away from this man. He's obviously not even close to being seriously in a relationship. You shouldn't be confused in a relationship.
I can only hope this is some high school drama boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. If this man is any older, I would think he has some growing up to do.

I have been dating this guy for a little over a month, nothing serious though. He recently was honest with me and told me he had been sleeping with other girls. Should I really be upset at this or not given the fact that we are not attached?
If it was clear that this was a closed relationship, then yes, you should be upset.
But more important about this is your own health. Having multiple partners not only put him at risk, but you and the rest of his partners at risk. If you ask me, unless you truly love him, close the relationship and become a monogamous couple. Otherwise, I don't think this is something to get an STD over.

What software or program is i for free to download and it can copy ps2 games and play them without a modchip or swap magic etc?
You cannot play copied PS2 games on your PS2 without a modchip or swap magic unless you found out how to press a PS2 formatted DVD, which is probably more costly than swap magic or a modchip.
So frankly, if you're trying to steal games, you're going to have to fork over SOME money. If you're trying to have backups of your games, those methods are the only way to do it.

Is there really any big diffrence between a normal PS2 and a PS2 Slim besides the apperance?
There are a few things.
For one, the Slim has a fliptop disc cover, much like the original Playstation. (Considering how many times I've had the original PS2's disc drive jam, this is a godsend.)
The Slim also comes with a built in network adapter. The original's has to be bought separately.
It has no expansion bay, so if you plan on playing anything that needs a hard...

MY son's PS2 destroys game discs when inserted, we are not getting any error message. Can it be repaired or is it not worth it?
Hmm.... Is there any sound when this happens? It could be a problem with the positioning of the laser and the disc drive. Of course, that's only if it's not a slimline. Has the system been dropped lately? That might cause some things to come out of alignment.
As for if it's worth it, it depends on what's actually wrong with it. My best solution would be to call Sony and...

If i'm playing a PS1 game in my PS2, do i need a PS1 controller or will my PS2 controller work?
Your PS2 controller will work just fine. The only reason you'd want to switch is if you have a game that doesn't need Analog control and you'd like to have the feeling of the original gamepad in your hands. Other than that, your PS2 controller will work great.

Should I continue working with a voice teacher who is more interested in me building repetoire than interpreting music? I work on a song once then don't work on it again, but do get a copy. The music isn't "bad", but at the same time I don't get any say.
While I am a violist and not a singer, I think it might be a good idea to step back and see what you are trying to accomplish.

Another ABer went into detail about what a BIOS is, so I won't get too much into that. For every PSX emulator out there, you will need a BIOS file in order to run it.
In order to get a BIOS file, you have a couple of options. You can dump the BIOS from your Playstation into the computer. (Note that you MUST have the original Playstation or PSOne, the Playstation 2 will NOT work for...

This sounds like the same problem I just Answerbagged a few minutes ago. It's possible that the rods that your PS2's lasers run on top of need to be lubricated. Here's a site with step by step instructions:

How loud is the laser? I can hear the laser on mine as well, but it doesn't have the same problem.
If it's gratingly loud, it's possible that the laser has gotten off track or the rods need greasing. It's been a while since I've looked at the inside of a PS2, but I believe that the laser runs on two rods, and these rods need to be lubricated in order for it to run...

I don't believe that you can "copy" PS3 games onto your Hard Drive.
Firstly, let's not even talk about legal ramifications. Do you really want to try and store multiple 10+ GB games on your PS3's hard drive? Considering that you're probably doing this to steal games, you won't be able to put many games on there anyway.
Now, why would Sony and other...

We did this before.
You take the duck over, then come back and take the fox over. You bring back the duck and take the grain over. And then you take the grain over.
Trouble is, that a fox isn't unknown to eat things other than meat, so in reality, the fox, if it truly were hungry, it would probably eat the grain. And of course, how do you expect to leave an hungry, unattended fox and...

As far as I know, there is no laptop screen made with the ability to work as a monitor input.

The video display on my kids' PS3 intermittently shows extremely pixelated. The screen looks very "blocky" and most of the colors are washed out. Not all the time, though. The PS3 is connected via HDMI to a 42" HD plasma tv with 1080
I would call Sony about this.
I remember hearing about how some PS2 games would appear blocky and pixellated on the PS3, but I believe that the problem was fixed with a firmware update. Make sure you're updated to the latest firmware and try again.
If the problem is not in PS2 games, then you may need to call Sony. It could be a hardware problem.

Do you believe in spanking your children? Not like beating them or anything, but the occassional butt spanking?
You know, this is an area of debate for a long time.
I, personally, was whipped as a child, but I believe that the way that my parents did it actually is a lot more effective than some parents that I have seen done it.
I have seen some parents just start spanking their child as a norm. I think this is the real problem. For me, a spanking was a big punishment; something that was done when...

My PS2 has been having some issues with DVD's and PS2 games loading. Sometimes they will load while other times it will either say "Unable to read disc", go back to the memory card screen, or freeze. What could the problem be?
This is a permutation of the famous DRE problem.
What's happening is that the laser inside of your PS2 is dying. There are a few ways to fix this.
First, try using a DVD cleaner quite a few times. This is a temporary fix, but it can work for a while. This, I presume, just makes sure that the lens is clean enough to let the weak laser read the disc.
If that doesn't work, you...

Is emulation legal or not? cuz i have a gba and an nds emulator!
Emulators themselves are legal.
However, distributing and downloading Roms to play on these emulators are illegal. You'll run into the argument that Roms are "abandonware," meaning that they can be distributed since the companies in charge of these products may not stand behind them anymore. However, abandonware is not a legal term, so so-called "abandonware" is...

I heard that if you play a ps1 game on the ps2, when you save the ps1 game it will save to the ps2 memory card. Is this true? If it is then why won't my ps1 game detect any of my ps2 memory cards while being played in the ps2 system?
PS1 Games cannot be saved to a PS2 Memory Card.
However, what you might have heard skewed around is that you can take a PS1 save and copy it onto a PS2 Memory Card. However, you can't load or save from the PS2 Memory Card. If you just want to make an archive of your old PS1 Saves on your PS2 Memory Card, then you can do that.

My ps2 says enter playstation or ps2 format disc and i have never seen it do this before why is it doing this and how do i fix it?
Please explain your problem more in depth, please.
So, are you seeing the "Disc Read Error" screen, or are you seeing the red screen that asks you to enter a PS2 format disc.
If it's the latter, make sure that the disc you are entering is in fact a PS2 format disc and that it's seated correctly. If that doesn't work, try using a different disc, and take that disc...

I sing on a daily bases and i get sore throats a lot what is something i can do to help prevent this
It may be something in your vocal technique that's causing your sore throat. Do you take lessons? I highly recommend that people who sing take lessons so that they know what the proper singing technique is. So many people try to sing without lessons, but strain their voices since they don't know the correct way to sing.

I quitted smoking and my singing voice improved, but now when i wake up i ge a sore throat and it deteriorates my voice; how can i heal this?
You need to see a doctor about this. It may be something that you are doing as a singer that's causing your sore throat, though it might have to do with the smoking. Without knowing whether you take lessons or how long this has been going on, the best advice I can give is to go to the doctor.
For the time being, you should just take some lozenges and take it easy vocally.

If you care about him, give him some time (very brief) to stop.
But if he's like most drug dealers, he won't stop for anyone, so you're best off not getting mixed up in that mess. Get out of it as early as possible if the situation seems hopeless. Give him something heartfelt. You know, something you can't get in a store, like a homemade card or a video. Just because he doesn't want something materialistic, doesn't mean you can't tell him how much he means to you.

It mainly depends on what you plan to do. If you just want to play I-IV-V and warble on top of it, then no. Just knowing chords will be fine for that.
If you want to rip massive solos, or play classically, then yes, you will need to read music.

I don't think we can really call them "lazy." Advances in technology make things easier, as they are supposed to. So it's only natural that kids get off not doing the back-breaking labor that had to be done years ago.
But, the previous generation will always think the current generation is lazy just because they had to work harder.

How could i fix my (Need for Speed Most Wanted) PS2 game even knowing that my PS2 still plays other games? Could anybody help me here please!!
Your question is very vague. What's wrong with the disc? Are you receiving a disc read error?
If the disc is lightly scratched, you can take it to a game shop like GameStop/EBGames and they usually have a service where they resurface the disc.
If it has big gashes in it... there's not much you can do except buy a new one.

You cannot directly put a MIDI on an iPod. A MIDI file is not an audio file, it is a set of instructions that tells your computer what to do to make the sounds encoded in the file.

Yes. You may have to run it through quite a few times to get it to work, but you can.
Remember that this is only a temporary fix. If you want something permanent, you will have to replace the laser.

I decided to take off the cover to clean the lens. Well all the pictures show 10 screws but mine only has 8 and when I try and take off the cover it looks like it's attached to the memory card area and won't come off there. Not sure what to do now.
What is your PS2's model number?
If I remember correctly, the memory cards are not actually attachted to the unit. There's either a screw somewhere that you are missing, or you merely need to slide the PS2 cover over the front of them, and it's actually screwed to the bottom piece. I'm not certain, but it should be one of the two.

How do i go ahead to use an external hard drive for backing up a full game for ps2 slimline?
I'm a little unsure of your question.
Are you asking how to back up your PS2 games? If you have a DVD drive on your computer, you can make ISO files of your games. There's programs around that will do this for free, all you have to do is Google for them.
But be warned, you won't be able to just burn these backups and play them without some sort of mod to your PS2. I assume...

I have a refurbished slimline PS2, and in the last few days, it has begun freezing in the middle or just before the end of each of three games. Do I need to return it, or is there a simple fix?
Are you still in your warranty period?
If you are, the simplest option is to return it.
Other than that, it sounds like the laser is just getting weak. Eventually, it will die, but to keep the longevity going, you can do a few things to help it along.
* Make sure the games are clean
* Try a DVD cleaner a few times when you start having trouble.
* If you don't feel...

What is your favourite musical?
Hopefully in December, the answer will be Sweeney Todd!
But for now, I'd have to put up a few nominations:
Singing in the Rain - Come on, watching Gene Kelly dance is mesmorizing.
Rent - I was skeptical when my friend forced me to watch it, but I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Beauty and the Beast (if we're counting animated features as well.) - The music is mesmorizing....

Why are most of children's shows now a days so trashy?
Kids shows are being influenced by popular media.
Haven't you noticed the explosion of "action cartoons with insane violence" after the release of movies like "The Matrix"? Sure, there was violence beforehand, but the amount of violence and fighting a la "The Matrix" has skyrocketed since these types of movies have come out.
And it's not just...

Im 21 am I too old to still watch anime?
Watch what interest you.
If you sit around and worry what other people are doing all the time, you'll miss out on what you enjoy. If you like watching anime, then watch it. Simple as that.
Contrary to popular belief, anything that is animated is NOT for children only. There are many adult animations that not only disprove this, but are beautiful as far as films go, sometimes...

My grandchild is five and wants to play a card game what is one we could try?
My experience with children under 6 and cards is that they're more interested in flipping things over and picking them up as opposed to playing something with fixed rules. :)
But definitely try and teach him/her something. Go Fish is a good option that's easy to learn, but they may find it boring. If you feel up to it, SlapJack can be fun, but be warned that it's a very...

IF YOU WERE INTO A TYPE OF MUSIC BUT YOUR FRIENDS DONT LIKE YOUR MUSIC AND THEY HAVE THERE OWN TYPE OF MUSIC, WOULD YOU CHANGE TO THE MUSIC THEY LIKED JUST TO SUIT THEM
Never, ever do this.
Music is a personal taste, just as your own favorite color, food, etc. It's a part of you; a part of your personality. If a person doesn't want to be friends with you due to this, then let them go.
However, do try to be open minded, and listen to as much music as you can, even if it's not your "type" of music. You can learn a lot from that.

What causes some instruments to be associated with a specific gender?
Social stigmas tend to do some strange things when it comes to gender equality.
Since women are physically weaker than men (supposedly, of course. There's proof that a women, even a the highest level of physical strength will not meet a man at the highest level of physical strength due to the lack of testosterone. However, very few people are at the "highest level of physical...

What musical instrument is most annoying in your opinion?
As a composer, I don't think any instrument is annoying.
It's how the instrument is used (and who uses it) that makes it annoying. Though this "annoyingness" might be because it is of a culture that we did not grow up in.

How can I download the WWE Smackdown vs. RAW 2007 computer game of the internet?
This would be piracy, and I'm certain that Answerbag does not allow this type of talk on it's boards.
Downloading "warez" or games can be very risky business. Not only do you run the risk of putting your legal status in jeopardy if you get caught, but you can also pick up various malware that could be embedded in these files.
Play it safe and buy the game. However, if...

PS3 was working fine now unable to read the disc -
The best advice I can give is call Sony.
You can also try a DVD cleaner (Many will suggest that these will scratch the laser, but it's merely not true, that is unless the bristles are hard.) but that's not a 100% guarantee, and even if it works, it's a temporary fix.
Call Sony, you'll be glad you did instead of trying any insane stuff you read off the web.

Ok so i bought a psp used from a friend and theres a few problems with it one the volume buttons dont work two when i hit start the screen goes back and i have to turn it off then on again the same when i open the umd...what wrong?
You got suckered, that's what's wrong. Unless you've dropped the thing lately or put it through a lot of abuse, your friend sold you a lemon. There's not much you can do to fix it yourself (unless you're an electrician with knowledge of how Sony puts together their machines), but I'm sure Sony wouldn't mind giving you a hefty price tag to fix it.
Always try...

My brothers PSP is 3 years old. I tried to play a game I bought but the disk icon does not show on the screen and I get a disk read error. Old & New games do not work. Help!
The only option at this point that I can see is to call Sony. This sounds like the laser could be failing. Sometimes, running a few runs through with a disc cleaner will do the trick, but I haven't found a UMD Drive Cleaner. If you can find one, by all means try that, but if not, you may have to bend to the will of Sony Technical Support.
Who knows? Perhaps something like the PS2 DREs...

How do I access the games on my TI-83 calculator?
First of all, the TI-83 does not come with games (even though the ones that high school students get in class might, we must keep that a bit hush-hush.)
There is the infamous Puzzpack, or Puzzle Pack, which are high level assembly code games. If you don't have Puzzle Pack, you can download an updated V2.0 here:

So USPS.com said that they succesfully delivered my Xbox 360:"Delivered, September 29, 2007, 10:44 am, MCALLEN, TX 78503" The thing is that today's the 1st of October, and I called Microsoft and they said that they hadn't received my package. This normal?
You need to take it up with USPS IMMEDIATELY. It's very, very possible that your Xbox 360 has been sent to the wrong address, and you need that resolved very quickly. I hope that you've gotten insurance in case the worst has happened.
Also, take a look at who signed it, and ask Microsoft if that person is an employee. They might give you some business, "It's...

Everytime I connect my PSP to my pc and put videos and other stuffz, when i safely remove it...It said "please wait..." it was a long time and when i removed it..all then files were CORRUPT.HELP!!!
You removed it while the "Please Wait" screen was on?
First of all, you have to be patient. The reason why all of your files are corrupted is because you did not wait for the PSP to finish syncing with your computer, and you interupted it during a critical file transferring process.
I'm not very knowlegdable about the PSP, but the iPod works very similarly. Try syncing it...

My Ps2 memory card has corrupted data and it wont delete, how do I get rid of it!!!!!?
Memory Cards fail over time (as do flash drives, hard drives, usb stick drives, etc.) After a while, it just may not work. If this is a new item, take it back to the store, as it is definitely defective.
Answer to:
Will Halo 3 eventually come out on original Xbox because I have been told that it will and I have been told it won't?
I would highly doubt that even if Halo 3 did come out on the original Xbox, it would be something worth playing. In cases like this, the earlier gen port always seems like something to keep the non-early adaptor crowd from biting.
However, here's hoping that you can at least get a taste of Halo 3 before MS forces you into the world of the 360 :)

I just went out and bought final fantasy 8 and a memory card for the playstation one, while playing it would save the data but then when i checked on it it would say that the file was corrupt, and the ps2 wont acknowledge the ps1 mem. card at all...help!
Hmmm...
Have you pulled the card out while it was saving or loading? That could corrupt the data on the file.
Other than that, as I assume it was used, Memory Cards (and flash drives, and hard drives, and floppy disks, etc.) all have a limited life span, meaning that after a number of writes onto the disk, the memory will begin to fail, and you'll get results like this.
I suggest...

No guns = no gun deaths. How hard is that to understand?
This is definitely a hot topic to bring into Answerbag!
There's two camps in this, those who wish to bear arms, and those who don't (we'll keep the neutral party out to make things simple.)
Bearing arms has been in the U.S. constitution practically since its inception. (If you are not from America, I'm sorry to go on a U.S. rant, but I'm rather ignorant of other...

Know any Russian opera available on the internet?
I don't know any you can just pluck off the internet, but Moscow, Cheryomushki by Shostakovich can be a lot of fun. I think Plimico Opera Company did a recording. I was able to find it in my local library. It's more of a singspiel/musical comedy, but it's great music.

What do people think is a good opera to see as a first "live opera", for an adult not a child?
Old question, but I'll answer anyway.
I personally think that, for a "first opera" for someone who has little to no interest in opera or even classical music, Wagner is a bit of a stretch. Wagner is very long and very slow, and for someone who's not used to that, the experience can be very boring.
However, I think Porgy and Bess is a wonderful opera (Some will argue...

Rap stars are encouraging early sexual activity among teenagers by promoting a degrading view of women, research shows. Would you agree?
Yes, it's true, SOME rap does this, but some rap does not. However, you can turn on the television or look through a magazine, and you'll see the exact same thing. Trying to single out rap music is definitely the wrong way to go about trying to fix our society's views of women.
However, I think it's worthy to note that, even with all of this media being shoved in our...

When does art become abstract art?
I'm not an artist, so don't quote me on anything about art history, but I believe that abstract art is art that strives not to imitate life in any form or format. As opposed to something such as realism, abstract art is not something based on real life images.

I frequently spray Febreeze in my hair to make it smell good. Is that bad?
My suggestion to you is to read the label. I don't have a bottle here to confirm, but it might be a skin irritant, which could cause you some problems.
Though I would really suggest you just go out and get some products actually suited for the purpose. I personally don't see how Febreeze could be a wanted hair odor.
