Answer to:
Are Republicans really so gullible that they consider Sarah Palin an energy expert?
Palin as an energy expert may be quite the stretch, but nothing is more of a stretch than believing Obama is qualified to lead America. the guy is a community organizer for heaven's sake. No credentials, no balls, and just a slogan, " Yes we can." I can't believe this guy is really in office. Beyond hoping the guy is not re-elected, I would rather see Biden leading us....

Would you trade in your SUV under the 'cash for clunkers' scheme? SUVs are special purpose vehicles, don't you think?
I have a 1995 Chevy Tahoe. It runs great, in good but not great condition cosmetically, and I own it. I would never trade it in to have to make car payments and higher insurance on a new car. When the Tahoe blows up eventually, I will consider the new car, but not until I am pushing mine into the dealership.

Is Republican Governor Mark Sanford a hypocrite for voting to impeach Clinton for the Monica Lewinsky affair and then going on to have an affair of his own?
Most people seem to not understand the Clinton impeachment, but it wasn't about blowjobs but about lying under oath in front of the grand jury. Needless to say, I think Sanford should resign more on the grounds of irresponsibility of disappearing without notifying even the Lt. Governor moreso than the affair.

Why was it that a left-wing, not a right wing, movement brought democracy to Portugal?
It was a "man bites dog" event I guess. Or "even a blind squirrel finds an acorn sometimes." Somehow they got it right, but it was probably by accident or fluke luck since leftists usually do not equate to actual freedom, but tyranical regimes and death to follow.

Get rid of all the ridiculous lawsuits and stop allowing people to file suit for fabricated cases or minor mistakes, etc. Our society is way too sue happy and the system allows it. People who file false suits should be penalized, fined, or imprisoned for clogging up the system and costing taxpayer money, etc. Real malpractice needs to be protected against, but shouldn't be conneced with...

I am a die hard Oakland Raiders fan. What the hell happened to the franchise? Should i have anything to look forward to this season?
Well, Jamarcus Russell can only improve, and if they keep the same coach for more than one year they might gain some consistency. They may actually use some of their talent properly this year as Tom Cable had them showing some improvement at the end of last year. As a Bay area native I would like to see both franchises in the bay show more respectability and I think they will this year.

What has surprised you most about your team this season so far? Good or bad?
The Giants have pleased me thus far by hanging in second place and battling for a wild card spot. I don't think they have enough to catch the dodgers, but at least a possible winning season and some nice pitching has been fun to watch. If they could get their hands on one more quality starter to replace Jonathan Sanchez they could make some real strides.

Bud Selig, the guy should not be commissioner. He is too much in close quarters with the owners and not really working in the best interest of the game in general. 2) Common Sense judgement without checking political
winds before making decisions.
3) The size of their Guts and the willingness to do
what is right versus what might better their

Anyone standing against such an organization must truly not understand the constitution or is truly anti-American since they are against standing with the Constitution. they might be United Nation supporters or something.

There is no one place that defines America. You would have to hit several spots. I would suggest a 6 stop tour with: New York, Miami, San Antonio, San Francisco,Denver, and Memphis. But you could pick nearly any city as long as you moved geographically across the country.

Throughout history in any warrior culture the warriors married early as they may die in battle and want their blood lines to carry on. probably not a good idea. protectionism is what the US needs to restore its manufacturing strength. Free trade merely reduces all the stronger industrial countries ultimately into the third world with the all the poor countries. I can't speak for the world in general but for the better life in the US we should definitely return to protectionism with our trade.

Two cards are dealt. one after the other, from a shuffled 52-card deck. Why is it wrong to say that the probability of getting two red cards is (1/2)(1/2) = 1/4? What is the correct probability of this event?
It is wrong because after the first card is dealt, and it is red, the chances of the second card being red is less than 1/2 since there are 51 cards left and 26 black and only 25 red ones. So the black cards have a slight advantage with the odds and it is not 50/50.

Obama has always been a joke since he decided to run for office with no credentials, but the real joke is the mass of idiots who felt a community organizer was capable of being a successful president! The guy has never run anything in his life, yet now he runs the country?

Does anyone else remember fondly the tv show M*A*S*H? Who was your favorite character and why?
Great Show all the way through. I actually liked all the characters but my two favorites were Charles Winchester and Colonel Potter. I thought when those two came to the show it became more dynamic, especially because Winchester, unlike the Frank Burns character, was sometimes in on the plots of Pierce and Honeycutt as well as sometimes being their victim.

It depends on what their attitude is and what they are contributing to the household. If they are in school and not contributing monetarily, that is okay if they do not have a bad attitude and are helping out with chores, etc. If they are being a slug and have a bad attitude, it sounds like it is time for the Marine Corps, the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, or Coast Guard after their 18th...

How people who voted for Obama wish they could take their vote back?
I did not vote for the son of a bitch, and find little solace in saying I was right for not voting for him since he is a complete mess already. Impeachment may be in his near future with all the scandalous people he has placed already, and with the piss poor decisions of doing things that the Taliban have given him Kudos for. That should be a sign he is doing something wrong for sure.

Did FDR's policies actually prolong the "Great depression"?
They didn't do much to end it. FDR had his own commission in 1938 look at all the spending they did and how it had basically no effect on the economy. WWII created a ramped up economy and pulled the US from the depression and FDR got a lot of credit for it all. Americans, would you be in favor of a constitutional amendment making it law that the federal government could not spend one cent more than was recieved in revenue the previous year?
While under normal circumstances it sounds pretty good, but in a case of wartime we would have to run deficit spending, as we did in WWII, and the cold war against the bolshevik Russians. Therefore I might be in favor of the amendment as long as there was some stipulations regarding times of war.

Can you spend your way out of a recession?
people can, especially if businesses are left alone to create products and hire people as well. The government merely spending will not work. Look at the facts of FDR's programs from 1932-1938. His administration had huge deficit spending as we are getting ready to do now and it did nearly nothing to the economy. Eventually WWII came along and forced the economic boom.

Being confident is really just being comfortable with yourself. If you are comfortable with who you are nobody can really shake your confidence because you are true to yourself. When you try being something you are not, it is easier to have that confidence shaken when tested.

Do you think the stimulus plan is a bad idea because it's not putting enough money, if any, in your pocket? Is it possible that some of us may be a little too selfish here?
It isn't selfishness, it is the idea that government can do anything efficiently. According to the great messiah's new stimulus package the government will spend $600,000.00 per each new job created. It seems like it is pretty idiotic to spend $600,000.00 to create a $10.00/hr job. I think all these stimulus packages are insane, and only keep lining the pockets of the elites while...

It does not in any way shape or form. Some crackpot liberals will tell you it "promotes" freedom by making all the "essential" decisions for you so you have more time on your hands for self expression andother delights. You will have no money, and no ability to travel, but when you are done being the peasant farmer you can go home and read a book that the government chose...

Kids in my neighborhood have now proven that they have NO problem jumping my fence to get to my dogs...even with me standing right there. So how can I make them NOT jump the fence when I'm not around?
razor wire, track down their parents and let them know they will be arrested for trespassing next time, or even a shotgun shoved in their face might scare the crap out of them. I think letting their parents know what is happening and how serious you are about it might do the trick depending on the parent.

Why is the term 'liberal' such an insult in the USA? It means things like 'favouring individual liberty, free trade and moderate political and social reform', 'open-minded' and 'free-thinking', things that the USA stands for.
Because what was liberal long ago, or those who are truly liberal in the sense of the word hardly exist anymore. The modern liberal is nothing more than a marxist with no moral code and no commitment to their country. The days of a Truman Democrat are gone, or even a JFK democrat.

Lately I've been thinking about how to meet new people. When I ask people they always say "at work, at clubs or groups, at church, at the gym" etc. They tell me where to meet people, but I actually want to know how you actually go about meeting new people
Generally it is easy to get people to talk about themselves. Ask questions and let them answer. At the gym for example: " Do you know how this machine works?" then follow with, " How long have you been a member here?" if you keep asking, people will usually talk more and then you can follow up with questions. If they seem interested in you they will often ask you...

Actually I would define courage just how the men of the 82nd and 101st airborne described it during world war II. Courage is being very afraid, but you go anyway, knowing it is what needs to be done. It isn't a matter of "letting" them, but if I started dating someone who was still close to their ex, I probably wouldn't get very serious with them knowing they are still involved in some way. Once people have been in a relationship and then end it, it has to be a clean break away or it will cause issues with future relationships even when they think there is no issue.

Different things scare different people. If any, what type of horror film scares you the most? The least?
All the sick and twisted slasher stuff is stupid to me, and I am not a real fan of the genre, but sometimes more realistic stuff like the exorcist or other true life movies can creep me out a little. I'm not really a scared person in general and would not be freaked out by most of the things I see in movies even if faced in real life.

They may have turned all their attention on England and even succeeded in potentially occupying England for a time, but the British are not the French, and would not have quietly submitted to the Nazi's, and with the US intervention Germany would have ultimately lost the war with or without the Russians but it may have taken longer with more blood shed before it was all over.

Is there anyway to make food less spicy?
Diluting with water if it is a soup or sauce, or even in gravies, then thicken back with flour or better yet corn starch, etc. Increasing the volume without the spices will always reduce the intensity of your spices, so if your spaghetti suace for example is too spicy, make it into a double batch without adding spices and it will be less spicy.

In the latest book I'm writing, there are two characters that are bigots. Is it not "PC" to use racial slurs in dialogue to show this? How do I show they are bigots in dialogue without using racial slurs? I want the reader to absolutely hate these two.
Use the slurs. If the character is not believable you lost everything. If you are afraid to offend, then pick a less edgy topic and stay "PC." Hemingway never worried about that bullshit, nor any other great writer.

There was a school district somewhere in the midwest that appeased a Muslim group by removing Jello from their cafeteria food because the Muslimd group complained about gelatin containing pork. Instead of just opting not to eat the jello they...

What is salt lake city like in a lot of aspects?
It is in a beautiful location for sure. It is a bit strange to me with some of the rules governing bars and liquor, etc. You have to a membership card to drink in a bar, but not a tavern, or something to that affect. Also, the population seems to be divided along a line of either very moral and straight laced, or total oblivion with the drgus and drinking, etc. Where ever the moderate...

So Christmas is coming up and i dont know what to get my mother. And i am wondering. What would you give your mother for Christmas?
Moms and Grandmoms are easy. You find something that connects the two of you in some way and when they open it you tell them that it reminded you of the time she baked you cookies after school or whatever the event was and they will cherish the gift for life. Moms always love that connection with their children no matter how old they are.

Socialism does not come as a fad, it creeps in under darkness of night and slowly bleeds out freedoms as well as the abilities of people to not only make gains on their own but after socialism has sunk it's rotten teeth into the people it forces everyone to a point that they cannot survive without the government and then become at its ultimate mercy, and the will to live and fulfill dreams...

While the president does not have total control over such things, they can certainly hurt their country's economy more than help the world economy.
