I have an 18 month old basset that recently does not want to go to his kennel at night. He normally falls asleep on the couch and when you go to pick him up to put him in bed he begins to growl and sometimes bite. Is there something I can do? Does he go in the kennel only to sleep? The kennel needs to become his comfort place. I would also suggest placing a small blanket on the sofa and getting him to lay on that. Move the kennel to the room with the couch or room where you spend the most time with him and then encourage him to start getting in it earlier than falling asleep on the couch.
