I am one of those Americans who feel that those who emigrate to the U.S. should be required to learn English. As I can only speak for myself and I am not illiterate, my answer is no.

I used to ride and own several horses growing up. I had a favorite that i trained to barrel race. Her name was Rusty. I have always been allergic to animals. My eyes used to swell up and all my eyelashes fell out but I refused give that horse up. I haven't ridden for about 20 years.

Not at all. I do it. I think it would be foolish of them to keep something that they can't use just because I bought it for them.
