Can you really use a wet sheet and a fan to keep a room cool?
It probably would work whilst the sheet is still wet since the circulating air from the fan will cause the moisture to evaporate. This uses heat energy in the room thus cooling it down. When the sheet is dry you would have to wet it again.

What is something vestigial in the human body? I heard that our pinky toes fit in that category.
I'm not sure about the pinky toe since it still serves a function in maintaining balance but I believe our coccyx bone was our tail. I have heard that some babies form a tail in the womb which then dissolves before birth.

The law considers it lawful for her to take off her clothes for sex so taking off her clothes for voyers should hardly be a problem. It's not something I would like my child to do though.

Answer to:
Why does my 85 Harley FLT push oil out of the crankcase breather when its started after sitting a couple of weeks? If I shut it down and then restart it, the oil doesn't puke out a second time.
Just a guess but perhaps when you start it after it has been standing for a few eeks the oil has all seeped into the crankcase and is not fully circulated resulting in a little too much pressure in the crankcase until it circulates. When you start it a second time the oil may have circulated to some degree and the crankcase pressure is lower?

Ladies: I want a man to love me and be GOOD to me. So why is it that when Im dating the guys who are nice to me are the ones I shy away from and the guys who dont call back or act like they could care less are the ones that I consider? Am I alone in this
Perhaps it's a poor self-image you have of yourself and are attracted to men who are not neccesarily attracted to you because it confirms your self-image? I.E. I am not worth loving so a man who does not love me attracts me. Recent studies have shown some raindrops fall faster than terminal velocity, which is the measure of ultimate speed according to our understanding of gravity. (Basically: they fall faster than what we thought possible.) What do you think about this?
They've got to be propelled by some force that is yet to be discovered or else it would completely contradict the laws of gravity. How about this...maybe at terminal velocity there are weather conditions (that sometimes exist) which cause the tail end of the falling raindrop to evaporate (due to air friction?) and the change from water to gas causes a minisicule in atmospheric pressure at...

For you Christians: Till death do you part. Then you can get remarried. So are you just having a threesome in heaven with your new partner? How does that work, honestly? How can you be reunited with your soul mate if you fall in love with another person?
I know Jesus was asked this question and replied to the effect that in heaven we are in spirit form where there is no male or female, no "partner" (wife, husband). We are all one in God in any event. I'm not even sure we possess individuality when in spirit form. Hopefully we will all one day get to know the answers.

One reason is that your mind is lying to you about death. If we must leave religion out then all that is left is a false perception that in death you will not feel the pain you feel now. We don't have to. If you hurt it's a choice you made (other than physical pain which is a survival mechanism). I believe even the death of a loved one is a deep seated(unconscious)perception that you have been abandoned by that person = not...

Answer to:
Whats the point in talking someone out of committing suicide when their death will have no impact on others, or effect anything?..I understand the whole being politcally correct thing of talking someone down but still...?
Because their LIFE (i.e continueing to live) always has the potential of having an impact on others...so you help stop them from destroying that potential. Secondly, deep down, we all have this fear that there really may be NO REASON to exist and allowing someone to take their own life is a confirmation of that fear that we do not wish to face...so we save them and thereby protect our own...

How could a question be rated as nonsense if tons of people answered it. Doesn't a quantity of replies indicate a question's worth?
Quantity does not automatically equal worth surely? Unless the entire purpose of AB is to gather as many replies as possible without regard to the value of the question or the replies. There is value in generating a ton of conversational exchange between people but the quality should matter...if I have a little excrement in my house and you have a ton of it...are you better off?

Are there men out there who are interested in some form of compatibility of spirit with a woman or is that idea just silly optimism?
I've experienced physical compatibility with almost every woman I've been with, intellectual compatibility with about half of them, emotional compatibility with about 10 percent of them and am still not married because I am waiting for the one I experience spiritual compatibility with. It's not silly optimism to want that!

Why do some women flirt, date, or have sexual relationships w/ married guys that they WOULD NOT have if he wasn't commited? Is it because of the rush? They love to gamble (w/ their lives)? They're ho3s? Their inheritance? etc.
Probably for the same reason some men flirt, date, or have sexual relationships w/married women that they WOULD NOT have if she wasn't committed?

Would you get annoyed if someone told you how much they cared about you and appreciated you every chance they got?
Yes. It would and does cause me nausea. I know someone who does this and it is extremely annoying. Something too often repeated loses it's significance and starts being disbeleived.

Definately situational. Take me for example. I ONLY cheat IF two conditions are met : 1) I must be sure I will not get caught and..2) She must be attractive enough for me to want to cheat. If these conditions do not exist in the situation I will NOT cheat.
Answer to:
Why is the British pound more valuble than the American doller? Or most other currency?
Currency values are determined by market demand for the goods that a country produces. The exchange rate values are a market reflection of that demand. What this simply means is that if Britain exports more than it imports it's currency will be in more demand since in order to buy anything from Britain you need to pay in British pounds. To do this you purchase pounds on the free market....

How many of those who are so fiercely opposed to the use of animal fur in clothing think nothing of wearing shoes, belts, purses, wallets, and such that are also made from the skins of animals? Why is it fur so horrible, and not leather?
The slaughter of animals for their fur is to satisfy a vanity whereas leather is a by product of the slaughter of animals for a need (food) - quite a difference.

Straight men: Is it possible to be under 80 years of age and be a 'friend' to an attractive woman and not think of something else?
I'd have to say NO. The key here is "attractive woman" - the mere fact of her attractivness is going to push your mind into thinking of the 'something else' - not that you ever act on it though or you would lose your friendship and her trust...but hey, doesn't hurt to think and daydream!

Answer to:
Do you think as we get older we lose our "sense of fun"? Being playful and keeping a sense of humor and engaging in "fantasy" ...do we leave all of that behind as we age?
As a rule I would say yes most people do. Which is a sad thing. Doing silly, playful things is often considered "immature" or not appropriate behaviour for an older person. I personally think that attitude is nonsense and will always keep the "child" alive in me. I forget who, but some noteworthy person was once asked what he would do differently if he could live his life...

Do you think, you are different from others, in any aspect?
Yes, (thank God !) and everyone else is different to everyone else. We are each unique and not entirely like any other human that has ever existed or ever will exist (or so the experts say). Having said that, we are also all very much the same in fundamental ways...that's why we are all classed as 'homo sapiens'.

What direction is gravity pulling you if you were in the center of the earth?
The push/pull of gravity from one side of you would equal the push/pull from the other side of you since you are in the center of the earth. The center of a sphere implies mass is equal in all directions from where you stand. So therefore the forces are equalized and you feel NO GRAVITY AT ALL !

Some or other social study (I forget which) once stated that you could fall in love with at least eight out of any 10 randomly chosen people (hetero's for hetero's and gay for gay of course). Being forced together (locked in a room) could end in either love or hate I reckon.
