My dog opens doors by the handle, and then closes them behind him with his nose. He keeps locking himself in the bathroom, then ruins the drywall trying to get back out. Why would he do this? What can I do to stop it? how about finding a way to make it so that the door stays OPEN, as in so he can't close it. Why does my dog get so excited to see my husband, follows him around, tail wagging like crazy, and I get just a look from her bed, maybe a wag . I feed her, walk her, clip her nails, etc- you get the picture. Why is she so excited to see him and not me? Both great answers, just wanted to add... Your dog may see you as "Alfa" meaning the leader of the pack and your husband as just a pack member (or someone to play with). With wolves, no one messes with the Alfa, its not tolerated.. but the pack members are game. So maybe your pup is showing you that your dominant and she respects you.
