Why doesn't the human stomach digest itself?
The stomach is made of protein. Acids which digest the protein in our diets (like hyrdochloric acid) also have the ability to digest the stomach! So, a special lining of mucous covers the stomach's walls so these gastric acids can't do much harm.

Why does Apollo have the same name to both the Greeks and Romans when every other god has had their name radically changed?
This is, as you think, strange. Maybe the Romans planned not to change Apollo's name, the Ancient Greek and Roman languages were very different, but similar in some ways.
Answer to:
Is Zeus the only parent of Athena, or is Metis her mother?
Hera was the wife of Zeus, but Zeus had a child with Metis. Here is how the story goes:
( In the story is Jupiter is Zeus, and Minerva is Athena, the Roman names of the gods.)
Jupiter, king of gods, was Athena’s father, and her mother was Metis, a minor goddess in Roman mythology. Metis obviously became pregnant. Now, it was prophesised by a fortune-teller that if Metis had a son, he would...

Answer to:
Was it Aphrodite's girdle that made her irresistably attractive to men, or was that just a rumour made up by jealous goddesses? Was it just her charm and long, blonde hair?
Aphrodite's girdle was a magic one. It controlled every mortal and immortal's lovelife. That was her only job, to do just that: to incite desire! Myths vary, and the answer to that question is that some say her girdle was the cause of her irresistablity (is that a word?) and other stories say it was just her charm, as the tall blonde goddess of love.

Answer to:
Why did Zeus seek to destroy the Titans?
Because Cronos, his father, had swallowed up all of Zeus's siblings. The reason he did this was because a seer had told Cronos that one of his children would claim his throne. Cronos was greedy and rude, and so Zeus and his siblings and Cronos and his siblings had a huge fight. Eventually the Titans were banished to the fiery underground pit, Tartarus.

Achilles was a warrior of Troy. He had a quarell with the captain of the Greek forces (that story will be told at another time.) Anyway, this fight led to Achilles not wanting to participate in the war. This was bad as he was the best Greek warrior. He asked a god if he could put the Trojans in the lead, so when Achilles did start to fight again, he could show how great a soldier he was.
