It depends on what size the tuba is, a smaller tuba can weigh 15-20lbs, while most normal(4 valve) tubas are 20-25lbs, some professional models even weigh 30 lbs, but the case can also add an additional 15lbs.

Currently there is a cartoon version of the Hobbit that was made in the 70's (it's not that great). There is plans for The Hobbit to come out in theaters in the next couple of years though. It will be directed by Peter Jackson, but we LOTR fans have to wait untill he directs other movies first (King Kong, and Lovely-Bones)

The short answer is no. As a goalie you can wear anything from ski mittens, to rubber gloves, to wearing none at all. There is definantly no regulation on the goalies gloves, and if a referee says so, then he is in the bluff.
