I saw a news report this morning saying the bailout money the auto makers are asking for from taxpayers is not for factories or to save jobs, but to pay for union member benefits. What role have unions played in destroying the U.S. auto industry? A very large role.

Since stock is non-voting there's no mechanism to make banks act. Who should get bonuses? I should and the rest of the taxpayers, and I mean employed taxpayers who put up with this corrupt government.
