Answer to:
How would the world be different if no one had the ability to lie?
Bland. No character. It would be like in the movie "The Matrix" when the machines attempted to create a "perfect" world for humanity. They failed, because there was no good vs evil, right vs wrong, black vs white, etc... Everyone would eventually die from lack of stimulation.

Do you keep a medical journal for yourself? Most people don't but writing down how you feel every day, and what pains you get when can go a long way in catching a problem you would never have expected. So do you keep one and if not whats your reason =)
I don't keep one because I feel good everyday. Here's why: I get plenty of sleep, I eat right, I exercise everyday, I drink lots of water, and I spend time with those I care about. Plus, I like my job...so that helps.

Do you think the people of the United States are getting smarter or dumber? More tolerant or intolerant? Do you think the constant change that goes on here has been positive or negative over the last 20 years?
The only constant is CHANGE. Who can make generalizations and say that Americans are dumber or smarter, tolerant or intolerant? I believe change is good for any country but, at the same time, a country's citizens should hold strong to the principles/morals upon which their nation was founded.

There's always a cop car in a local donut shop. Why do they keep the stereotype alive like that!?
Cops are easily identifiable anywhere and donuts are an inexpensive/fast meal (cops aren't rich). I'm sure, if you looked hard enough, you would see "regulars" go into donut shops who aren't cops but they look like your average joe, so nobody pays attention.

Which one do you prefer a rainy or a sunny day?
Sunny day. It's better for surfing, snowboarding, cycling, walking, playing tennis, and swimming in the pool. Can't do much on a rainy day except play video games, read, watch TV, or surf the net. Those activities are too sedentary...I don't want to get fat and die prematurely.
Answer to:
How important is being in good shape to you?
Very important because it prevents injury and disease while prolonging one's life. I hate going to hospitals or being sick. Plus, I've got a lot of things to do in my lifetime, so I want to live as long as I can.

What are the measures of your government in solving the haze problem? Please state your country and/or city. I would prefer innovative methods which are unique to your country. Or tell me about your real life experience with haze!
In Los Angeles, the city employs buses that run on compressed natural gas. More incentives are being introduced for people to take public transportation, i.e. the Metrolink (trains) and the buses. The state of California offers tax breaks and carpool privileges to those who buy hybrid vehicles. Also, homeowners who employ solar energy panels get tax breaks as well. Recycling is very big in...

Answer to:
Do you think that "Juxtaposed Insanity" is a good name for a metal song?
Depends on the quality of the song. If it's a good song, then the name shouldn't matter. However, if it's a bad song, then the name will have negative connotations. I thought the name "Silent Lucidity" for that Queensryche song was lame at first, but then I heard the song and the name didn't bother me after that.

Answer to:
Do you think we should have officially entered WWII earlier or have waited until we were personally attacked?
The USA wasn't ready to fight a war. We didn't have the manpower or equipment until the Japanese forced us into war. Pearl Harbor was the impetus or catalyst which rallied the country to build it's forces at a breakneck pace. That's why historians have always compared that moment to "awaking a sleeping giant."

How do you find this "inner peace?"
Go surfing. Seriously. Imagine this: sitting on your board waiting for a wave, listening to the gulls and the crash of nearby waves. Then, a swell emerges, you start paddling, the wave picks you up and you're off. I compare surfing to painting a picture: the wave is my canvas, the board is my brush, and my imagination is my inspiration. In my opinion, this is the only activity in which...

Would it be easy to visit and spend time in LA, San Francisco and the Grand Canyon within a one week trip to the USA?
No, not easy in one week. Give all those destinations at least 4 days apiece. Plus, factor in the travel time between them. It takes approx. 6-8 hrs to drive from the Grand Canyon to LA and another 6 hrs to drive from LA to San Fran. Beware, LA is a HUGE city and you can easily get lost there. Invest in a good map or GPS. Also, have patience with the traffic on the freeways...it's...

Make all the illegal immigrants legal citizens with a social security number. That way they can pay taxes and contribute to society.

If you are dating someone, should you be surprised if they want to marry you?
Depends how long you've been dating, how strong the attraction that person has for you, and how well you get along together. It shouldn't come as a surprise if the relationship is strong and the attraction is mutual. But if it was a surprise, I suggest a long heart-to-heart talk with that person.

Would you say you have become more confident as you got older?
Yes. As I experience more that this life/world have to offer, I gain confidence in myself. However, there are so many things that I do not know. This helps to temper my confidence, thereby preventing arrogance. I like to consider myself a humble person who is confident about his place in society but still immensely curious about life and the world.
Answer to:
Friends for a while. What chance do they have if they want to become more than friends?
I suggest getting more intimate with one another. The man should make the first move, either with small gestures such as holding hands or even a peck on the cheek. If the woman has a mutual attraction then she'll reciprocate. If not, then it wasn't meant to be and you should remain friends.
Answer to:
What about abdo exercises for the over 50s woman? my fat seems to have moved in for good, any ideas?
I suggest doing more aerobic exercise such as walking briskly, 3-4 times a week. Start with 30-min sessions and gradually increase it to 45 min and eventually 1 hr. You could also try to build more muscle by lifting weights. Start with light weights and work the major muscle groups, i.e. leg, back, and chest muscles. This in combination w/ aerobic activity will ultimately decrease your overall...

How often do you brush your teeth? I do just before I go to sleep. Do you think it is anough?
Only once a day, just before I go to bed. However, I also floss just before brushing. This helps to remove food and plaque from your teeth & gums. I think brushing once a day is enough. Brushing too much can erode the enamel on your teeth.

Why are the pixies (music band) so good?
Because they were so influential during the post-new-wave era. They influenced bands like Nirvana and Sonic Youth. I would even go as far as saying that they were heavily responsible for the Grunge Movement. You can hear their creativity in today's music too.

Yes, half the time. It's frustrating but who cares. At least I'm getting the same pay, and in some cases, more pay than my peers. It's because I have more seniority. I work for the government. My life outside of work is much more valuable to me.

If you want to increase your metabolism and burn more calories & fat, then try weight-lifting. It is a fact that muscle burns more calories and increases your metabolism. Eat more meat too. This increases the thermic effect of consumption....meaning, you burn more calories and generate more heat during the digestion of meaty food. Good luck!

Im ready to buy my first surfboard but am confused by what i should get! im 6f 2 and 18 stone but im NOT fat, and i am a strong swimmer. can i get away with an 8ft performance minimal
Yes, you can use a board like that. However, you must have the right board for the right conditions. If you'll be surfing waves that break quickly and have steep faces, then you should opt for a shorter, more maneuverable board. If your waves have a gentle slope and tend to break further from shore, then you should pick a longboard. If you're a beginner, learn on a...
Answer to:
Are two intense one hour sessions in the gym per week too much for a 14 year old to do?
Just as long as your goal is muscle endurance & strength, rather than size. Your bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments are all still growing. Lifting too much weight too often, can cause serious long-term injury for someone your age. You could screw up the way your bones develop or cause permanent damage to your spine. Take it easy for now.

I was in the Army. We used to do pushups everyday. I used to have a small chest & arms, now they're well-developed. However, I don't do as many pushups now because I developed a wrist injury from them. An alternative to pushups is the chest press with free weights. Do these 2-3 times per week.
