No, I don't think so. It's so artificial and separate from life, with clean rules and everything so timed and arranged. So, milk makes your bones stronger, & makes you fatter, right? :P
False. IN fact if you consume raw whole milk, the fat is better assimilated and used by your body and so is everything else in the milk. Your body needs that type of fat to fully digest and assimilate the milk. Do some research on it and you will be surprised at how much more nutritious milk can be when raw, not dangerous like people think.

I suppose we have a downtown in our closest cities, but it's over 30-40 miles away in any direction and quite sprawling. I rarely need to go downtown in any of those places as the surrounding area has the stores I shop at or the friends to visit. And the cost of gas keeps my away and doing things more locally. Hope should be based on evidence, things you already know about are founded on solid facts that happened before, like hoping in a person, if they have given you some show of being one way and you hope they will be that way again. It's tied up with trust and dependability, not random things and luck

I am way past needing to date since being married for nearly 40 years but I only dated to find a mate, not for recreation or fun and it was always clear that was want I was looking for. Same with my husband. He was looking for a wife. So we just were looking for someone that we felt we could spend forever with. That's the only real rule we needed.

Do you like the circus? Why or why not?
I enjoyed some of the acts when I was younger. Now I like something more like Cirque de soliel, no animal acts and no weird dangerous stunts. I like human dexterity, balance and innovation, not trained animals doing things they never would in the wild. I think it's cruel to make bears ride bikes and elephants to be chained and not wander or lions to be caged up forever.

We already live next door to my husband's sister and her family, her daughter and family across the road and her son the next place down. We do live way out in the country with little else, just two other neighbors up here. I enjoy being near family and wish we actually saw each other more often. Sure he was a gangster, but do you think Tony Soprano was a good father?
No, he didn't set a good example as a decent kind, loving human being, he didn't spend quality time with the family, always was short tempered and didn't sincerely apologize, again not setting a good example. He wasn't honest and open, he cheated on his wife numerous times. There is no part of him that was any kind of loving parent.

You may state your opinion politely but not offensively, belligerently or in an attacking way. Many people here don't agree with the thoughts in a question, that's what's it's all about here. But you can't go around insulting others or questioning their intelligence in an offensive manner. Think 'family friendly' site and you'll be okay here.

How to teach a Parakeet to stop immediately flying back to the cage? Covering the cage when he's away from it doesn't help.
Covering it is useless. You are denying him access to his home, like you being locked out of your home when you feel you are in danger. He needs to learn to feel secure enough outside his cage to try exploring around the room. Let him do it on his own time. Allow free access to the outside, maybe placing a treat on top of his cage or on the door opening to coax him out and then let him be....

Answer to:
Which qualities do you feel are often taken for granted? Why?
Humility as it's so often thought of as weak when it actually takes great strength to STAY humble. I think when people feel the first inclination towards it, after they leave being a child behind, they ignore it and push it away as if it only belongs to children and not a sign of being mature and grown up. And so people fail to recognize it in others and take it for something else.

If this is how you feel, then it's right for you. At times, I don't use any salt and can stomach just about all foods. But one thing that just doesn't taste right until you get even enough salt, not just a little, is split pea soup. When you lose weight, where does it actually go?
It doesn't go anywhere. It gets burned up. That's what a calorie is, a unit of heat. It's like when you burn wood and it changes to gases and ash. That's all that's left. Same with calories. It's eliminated out of the body through sweating, feces, and urine instead of stored in your body for later.

Is it a child's duty to try to the best of his/her ability, to take care of his/her parents When they're old?
I think it is always a person's duty and responsibility to help care for their family no matter what age. I'm not talking about enabling, but honest caring and assistance. Parents cared for us when we were young, yes, we should care for our elders tenderly with even better care than they did for us, show them honor and respect, even if they didn't show it to us.

What causes rabbits' teeth to keep growing all their lives?
They are simply different kind of teeth, one that suits a creature that chews constantly and could wear down their teeth through all that chewing. So they need teeth that grow continuously to keep up with the damage. Humans don't chew on hard things all the time or need to chew their teeth for so long to digest their food. If you mean like in a flea circus, the insects aren't trained, they are simply used for whatever movement they can do. They are attached to something, by wires or glue and then they do what comes naturally, not trained. Some people have claimed that they place a glass over a flea until the flea learns to reduce it's jump height, but it's still not really trained to do a trick.

Would you let your pet or your pets go in your garage (if you have one)? Why or why not?
If I had a garage, I would have no problem letting the dog go in the garage unless she had just gone for a swim in the pond :( Now that the pond ice is gone she's remembering what it was like, all that fun she has every summer and nearly every 2-3 hours, she's in there lol!!! What a soggy mess :)
The cats, no, since I prefer them just in the house.

Don't you think women should put men first before enything?
I think that spouses should put each other ahead of themselves but not all women to all men. All people are equal as individuals. It's a choice to make to be joined with another.
As a generalization, I feel that everyone should in principle put others ahead of themselves, at least their feelings and concerns. Then just about everyone would have their simple needs met

Is it ok to tell a stranger who starts talking to you that the smell of their breath is about to make you puke?
No it isn't. It's very possible to be polite and considerate and tell them in a tactful way that their breath isn't the freshest or just offer them one of those little mints you carry for just such an occurrence. It's always better to be respectful and kind than to be rude and offensive, just as offensive if not more than their breath.

How powerful can habits be?
Habits, both good and bad ones, can motivate and move us 24/7. If they are good ones, that's great, but too often, it's the bad ones that we allow to take over our lives, and take over they do. They can set our priorities when we really don't want them to, they make our decisions and run rampant over other people's lives, too.

I don't, though I like the feel of the warm water when it's cold outside. But I think my husband loves doing dishes as I have to practically wrestle the dishes away from him to fill up the dishwasher. There are only two of us so it takes awhile anyway to fill it up, so if he likes to wash every dish we eat off of AND the pots and pans, too, well, that won't work lol!!! For those of you who object to the idea of harming a criminal who breaks into your house...
A person doesn't have to shoot, stab or kill someone in order to get them to stop robbing or whatever. You just want them to stop, not some kind of revenge or get them to never do it again. That's not my job. I simply want them to stop what they are doing right now. It's up to the police to do the rest. A criminal isn't a victim, but that has nothing to do with whether they get hurt or not....

I don't NEED soda, no one does. I prefer not to drink it as I like to drink water instead. On rare occasions as something special we might have a birch beer soda or else a root beer float, something to make it more than just a drink. And we don't drink soda made with anything other than real sugar, no artificial and no high fructose corn syrup.

In the winter, or the cold weather I have to force myself to think about drinking enough water and if I am really busy doing something I can get lost in thought and forget about drinking. No, rarely, not in a literal way. But I have friends who are making sure I'm okay, in a theoretical way and that's wonderful. I don't mind people who care, who are concerned but also who trust me enough to be okay watching out for me. As for people who might be watching or observing me that I might not know, I can't be concerned about it, not enough time in the day to waste that sort of energy :)

Why does a dog have to die if it protects it's food?
A dog doesn't fight the pack leader over food. Pack leader eats first and that's because the rest of the pack should respect the leader. If a dog shows aggression over it's food, then it's not respecting people and that's a sign that the dog needs some special care and could be a problem for whoever would adopt him. Usually the SPCA doesn't have the time or the money to deal with dogs that...

If she wants to go out with a large group of friends and it will have lots of supervision, then she might be able to go when she is a little older. I have 2 holland lops, 1= year old, other one is 6 monthes. They fight a lot and when you let one out, they pee on the others cage?
They are just being rabbits. Rabbits become quite territorial when they become sexually mature and also aggressive. Doesn't matter what sex they are or if they are one of each. If these are pet rabbits, they should be neutered and then bonded together if you want them to spend time together, otherwise they could really hurt each other or also get pregnant many times if they are opposite sex.

I don't mind being emotional, and I guess I'm suspicious of those that don't show emotions, like, why are they guarding themselves so much. I think what forms intimacy, whether romantic or just close friends is the giving and sharing that takes place and emotions are part of that. It means giving your heart because you trust each...

It's important but it's not everything. I think of honor as something that gets shown others, so it's my actions in response to how I feel about them, if that makes sense, like children should honor their parents, or show them esteem or value by obeying their sound counsel and rules or I honor my husband with my respect and loyalty. The term honor comes from a meaning of heaviness or...

A Phoenician woman earnestly pleaded for Jesus to heal her daughter. Jesus replied that it was inappropriate to give the children’s food to little dogs. Why are you Americans complaining about the price of gas? It's about $10 a gallon here in England.
It's because we've had relatively cheap gas for many years and many, if not, most Americans HAVE to drive far for basic things, like getting to work or shopping. The distances are much greater between cities and many live far out in the suburbs. Also most of the cars are bigger and aren't fuel efficient so it hurts when gas goes up just a few cents. Plus, what many people make for wages isn't...

Who has been to The Grand Canyon? What was your experience like?
I've seen the grand canyon from the rim, not any walking down into the canyon. And I saw it from the north rim which I liked much better, it's quieter and easier to take in the vistas by yourself, not all those crowds.

No, I'd rather have a newfoundland, the gentle giant as they are called. Nana from Peter Pan was a newf, a landseer newfoundland.

What could go wrong with a satellite dish receiver that you have to get a new one?

Is there really anyway to get revenge on rich people since they can ultimately buy themselves out of any situation?
No one can buy themselves out of every situation and riches often fail people or disappear, as it did for many during the Depression. But the best revenge or solution, if you aren't into revenge is living happily and finding joy with what you do have, like wonderful loved family and friends. If you live a simple, honest life and have loving people around you, most likely you won't need to 'buy'...

No, it is being forgotten, or more accurately, the wrong kind of laughter is being used. Answer to:
Popcorn with or without butter? salty or not?
Real butter, not much, just enough to flavor and I like to pop the corn with very fine salt in the oil used to pop it so there is a subtle saltiness to all the popcorn. I also like it with something called 'Butter Buds". I love popcorn with parmesan cheese, too and chili powder :)

Answer to:
Is ketchup really healthy? I think it is a trick.
It's not meant to be a health food or eaten just by itself. Commercial ketchup has a lot of things not healthy like high fructose corn syrup, but basically it is just a way to preserve something, like tomatoes, other fruits or like the first ketchup, fish. So it is usually quite salty and some people might not think of it as healthy if you have to restrict your salt intake. But then again, you...

Do you read books as much as you used to (when you were a child)? Why or why not?
I've always been a reader. I think I get it from my dad. He would always bring me books, lots of non-fiction. So, I developed the desire early on. I don't read as much fiction as I used to but I always read 2-4 books at a time, some upstairs by my bed, some down here, even reading between waiting for things to load online lol!!! Answer to:
How come one guy on here doesn't know what a budgie is? I thought everybody knew that.
Probably because he doesn't know birds, or pet birds and is used to hearing them called parakeets, but that's too generic since there are many other parakeets besides budgerigars.
Answer to:
WTH is a budgie?
It's the shorter name, slang if you will, for budgerigar, a type of parakeet from Australia. Many small parrots are classified as parakeets, but budgerigar is the specific name for one type of parakeet. In the USA and many other countries, countries that don't have their own parrots flying around, they just shorten the name to Budgie

Answer to:
How much baking soda is necessary to wash a small load of laundry (3-5 items) by hand?
For a regular load I add 1/2 cup so I'd say just a tablespoon or so in a small sinkload. Add it when washing to get out stains or add it to the rinse water to soften like a fabric softener.
For getting out stains mix up 1/2 cup peroxide with half cup baking soda and keep in a jar. Apply and scrub to a stain as you need it.
What works even better is to make your own laundry soap with it in...
Answer to:
Does diet affect the oiliness of your hair?
Yes, very much so, just as it affects skin conditions. One who eats a very clean natural diet, with little animal fat has much less hair oil than one who eats a rich, greasy diet. And the quality of the hair oil is not like good shiny oil but rather harsh and dull, cloudy-like. When I am fasting and then start eating mostly grains and veg I can go a whole week without needing to wash my hair....

Extortion has to do with who has the power and the one who can gives out roles is the power broker

We used to have an outhouse back in California in case of emergencies when the power would go out and I'm okay with using those. I find the use of gallons of water to wash away our feces such a waste of resources so we've looked into alternate ways for quite awhile.

Never thrown anyone in a body of water, though I've thrown back a few fish that were too small. And I've thrown sticks and life-rings in the water for dogs to retrieve. But bullies, I just ignore and they go away, no problem.

How much happiness do you have within you right now?
I"m happy, could be happier as my husband just left for work and we'd both rather he was home, but I"m ready to start my day, looking forward to getting things done, which always makes me happy. Looking outside now and then makes me smile, as do the funny things the cats do as I work around them. I ignore my aches and pains and stay pretty positive :)

I love the more bluish tones of red, though I've been told I look better in the more yellow based reds. I think it may depend on gender, as I've discovered that most women seem to love the blue-reds and men have always complemented me when I wore the yellow-reds.

Do I have to be 18 to go to casino?
It depends on the type of casino. You need to be over 18 or 21 to play or participate at casinos, but many casinos allow underage people to be in them. In Nevada, many of the large casinos are part of a hotel and restaurant and you have to walk through all that to get to the checkout desk or go to eat. You are technically IN the casino with all the players. Now to actually gamble you need to...

As a former 14 year old who met someone that turned 19 just a few months after I met him and later married that fellow and is still married to him nearly 40 years alter, I'd say that with great caution and sound advice, it's possible for them to get to know one another and develop a friendship if they are both committed to obeying parents. I didn't grow up with them, other than a few fruit trees in my yards as a kid, like apricots, oranges, lemons, avocado, plums in southern California coastal weather.

Why some people hate lawyers and politicians?Just because they are smarter than them?
I've never heard or seen any proof that all the smart people are lawyers and politicians.. People dislike others when they are treated without respect, lied to, deceived. Both of those 'careers' may require that you can do that. Yes, it might take intelligence, but not everyone that is intelligent chooses to abase themselves like that. Some are TOO smart to go down that road

I've known two families who looked overseas for a child. There aren't that many children here that people can qualify for. They waited for nearly 6 years and gave up on a child here. One couple got a child from China after just 2 years. Another couple got two children from South America in over 3 years. That's considered quick by USA standards.

It's easier to take your anger/rage out on others. That way you don't have to deal with what is really bothering you. Do you deal?
I don't find it easy to take out my anger on others. I wouldn't think of doing it. If I'm angry, I know where the problem lies or recognize it's usually just frustration, my own, not involving others. I simply let go of the anger, not venting it, it's more like just evaporating and then I can see the problem or frustration more easily and either solve it or forget about it if I can't do...

If you mean a mosquito, then yes, easily, since they are good sized. I can see hundreds of them at once, flying around our pond in the spring.

There would still be famine since there would still be greed and weather problems that could wipe out whole crops. It's not eating meat that causes famine in the world. There are famines in countries where meat is a small part of the diet. No, I'm not a vegetarian , though I have lived that way at times.

Are cats always scared of each other the first time they meet?
They aren't necessarily scared, just wary and territorial. You can't just introduce two cats together, of any age. You have to do it slowly, keeping one in a small room and letting them smell each other under the door for a few days. Then switch the cats and let the original cat smell the things in the room where the new cat was, it's litter box, it's bed and the new cat can leave it's scent...

How many outfits of clothes do you take when you travel?
Couldn't use your poll as it depends on the length and what the weather will be. If it's just a weekend and no formal or dressy events planned, I'll just take 2 complete changes, maybe long and short sleeves in case of weather change. For the longest trips, 1-3 weeks, I won't take whole outfits, but many separates so I can change up with one more formal outfit if it's not all casual.

How do i make my bullmastiff not grab food from hand when giving him food? He always acts like he never eats but he eats 3x's a day.
Stop feeding him by hand and give him only one meal a day. If he is full grown and mature he doesn't need to eat more than one meal. Feed him in a dish only and make him wait before you place the dish down on the ground. No respectful dog takes food from a pack leader unless the leader gives it to him so make him earn his food from you.

I don't like loud noises, talking or otherwise. There are at times certain things, mostly music that I enjoy loud for a brief moment, but for the most part, I prefer quiet. I like quiet conversation and see no reason for most yelling, unless you're dying or need help desperately. I think that people don't really get more notice in positive ways by being loud. They just get tuned out and ignored

Not unless there is for every person living in the country. Why bother testing for drugs that are completely legal for people to take, that doctors pass out, whether you really need them or not. Why not instead check up on the drugs that doctors prescribe and how much for all citizens. People make their own choices and it's their right to abuse drugs. Bad choice, but it's their right. If you have a dog,do you think it would be a good guard dog? Please say the breed :)
Sort of. She's a newfoundland and other than the size and looks of them, they usually don't make good guard dogs, though many people wouldn't take one on just because they are so large and drooly :) But ours isn't very newfie-like at all and I think she does too much barking at visitors or any car that drives by if she can see them. She definitely acts like she's guarding the house. You have...

Did Jesus pray?
Yes he did, on several occasions. He also taught how to pray and always led and taught by example. During the last Passover meal he shared with them he prayed over the two emblems before passing them around. More than once he spent the whole night in prayer as written in Matthew, Like, and John. Also, when people would bring their children and others, they did that so he would pray over them...

Is birth control mentioned anywhere in the Bible? If so does anyone know where and what is said about it?
Nowhere does the Bible discuss the use of contraceptives or birth control in marriage, nor does it say that Christians are obliged to produce children. The Bible leaves the question of family planning to the conscience of each Christian couple. Each couple should privately and responsibly determine whether to try to regulate the size of their family. If they agree to practice birth control,...

If it's not going to snow q decent amount then it might as well be spring and summer. I love a snowy winter, it's one of the reasons we moved here, to enjoy 4 seasons. But this sort of cold with rain and ice is awful :(
It's dangerous, doesn't make for good scenery, just hard to deal with daily things.

Why are pedophiles hated?
We all choose our behavior, even if something on the outside or inside influences us. They choose to prey on innocent children that can not protect themselves. Just because we might be prone to addictions of some kind, it's up to us to choose to not let it get the better of ourselves and stop excuses.

What do you think about dogs living in a house alongside people? Ready...Set... DISSCUSS!
It depends on the dog, but most dogs prefer to live with their 'pack' and it's sometimes difficult for them to be very happy when outside away from their family. Never thought one way or another about it. I've enjoyed being a little on the taller side, 5' 8" so I could reach things and help out where needed. Have you ever broken a window?
Only once and it was on purpose. We were clearing out a barn and had a 10 foot long solid plate glass window and no one had wanted to buy it since it was single pane. We couldn't load it up easily whole so we shattered it carefully and then hauled it to the dump. I was so sad to see that window go. We had planned to use it on one side of our porch to glass it in but we moved away before using it.

They could involve the same things. You could make a mistake and hurt someone terribly. Hopefully you would have regrets about hurting someone else. Both are sad and painful.

I'm adventuresome but I do like doing things that work out best, depending on what it is. I also like being safe and so I'm not into severe risk-taking as I feel it is not showing respect for my gift of life. I try to use my life well, but not abuse it, either. Now,in the kitchen, I'm quite willing to experiment, though nothing that would blow up or burn down the house :)

None, we always seem to know where we would like to go and it's just a matter of when can we get some time off and how can we fit it into our budget with the least amount of pain. It differs from week to week. We do love pork and usually butcher our own hog each year and sometimes raise our own chickens, so whatever is in the freezer often dictates what we will be eating. We try to eat lots of fish, which is a favorite of mine, or shellfish. We don't eat much beef. Weeks can go by before we'll think of eating that.
