If you love them, then the love can overcome any sort of resentment you may feel at times.
To love someone means loving them even beyond their faults. You may start not liking some things about them, but hopefully you can able to accept it and concentrate on what you do like.

If I knew that I was stuck making a choice, I would let them kill me, because the guilt of them killing my friend would probably consume my life. Though being in a situation like this, I would probably try to lock him up before giving him the chance to kill either of us.

I know that there is probably a way of finding out, but I do not know how to do it but I will ask for the sake of not sounding dumb, but is there a way of finding out how many points I had a month ago, and or a year ago, and the dates of them points
In a way, yes. If you go to your profile and look under the box with all your points info, there's a link called "See Points History". That will show you each time you were rated. It, however, does not directly tell you the total number of points made in a given month. Things like that you'll just have to calculate yourself. Hope that helps. :)

Answer to:
X + 7/4 = 17/8 ???
HELP!!! im dumb at this
To solve for x, you first need it to be alone. So you subtract 7/4 from both sides. That means x = 17/8 - 7/4. Find the least common denominator. In this case it's easy; 8. So multiply both the denominator and numerator in the 7/4 by 2. Then subtract it from 17/8. That's it. :)

If you are strong enough to get past whatever makes/made you unhappy, that would be an excellent thought to live by. YOU are in control of your attitude and perception of the world.
It seems to me that some people can get upset over something and hold the grudge so long that they forget the reason for it, and end up with empty days of frustration over nothing. So if you let it go,...

At least in the United States, definitely. Too many people think that if they don't finish something, it's fine to just throw it away. They don't have the forethought of saving it for later. That's just illogical in my opinion. Not to mention the waste it creates... more landfill garbage, more food being produced, etc.

Do you think that Eve Ensler's moles on her forehead should have been airbrushed out of a promotional poster?
Though I don't know the particular poster you are talking about here, my general opinion on this topic is that there has been excessive photoshopping of everyone in every single opportunity, trying to create the artificially 'perfect' look. I'm tired of it and I think that imperfections shouldn't be treated with such disdain. Especially moles, which you don't...

Answer to:
X= y- 2
5x=10y
how can I graph this equation
If x=y-2, then plug the y-2 in for x on the other equation. That would make it 5(y-2)=10y. The next step would be distributing the 5. So you multiply 5 by y and 5 by 2. This ends up being 5y -10=10y. All that's left now is combing like terms (the 5y and 10y).

Yes, definitely. I read the teenagers start thinking better late at night, so early morning wake-up does not mix well with that. Wouldn't it be more beneficial to start a bit later? Elementary school starts at 9 am here, and little kids go to bed early either way. I'm all for bumping up a few hours. Maybe 10 am?

Socks don't do the job when you have wooden floors and it's fall/winter. Slippers are cozy and help keep feet extra warm. As for some slippers being open at the back and others fully closed, I don't really care which ones I use. Fully closed are best during those cold days though.

I play the piano, but I really struggle with reading the bass clef. Do you have any tips to help me learn the notes?
Try this game: http://courses.wcupa.edu/frichmon/usetech/musicalflashcards/bcnotes.html
Another little tidbit to know is that all the notes are 2 notes higher than on the treble clef. For example, when you read middle C on the treble clef, the same line on the bass clef is E. Sorry if that just made it more confusing!
As with mostly anything, practice helps the most.

If you're too lazy to do your own homework, don't expect others to just do it for you. But if you honestly don't quite understand it, just ask us "how would you use substitution in a problem like this?"
To use substitution, you need to make the equation on the left into the format x = y +b, so you'll need to divide everything by 4. Then just plug that equation...

Is eyebrow tweezing and waxing a work of art?
Only if done in an artistic manner. If you're just tweezing/waxing to get rid of hair, then it's the equivalent to taking a bath - nothing special about that. If you were making it unique and interesting, then it could *possibly* be considered a work of art by some.

Do you believe in "being green"? If so, what do you do in your everyday life to be green?
Yes, for why waste things for no reason? It's completely pointless. Back in the old days, everything was saved. If we were still like that, we would be saving a truckload of resources and money!
In my everyday life, I recycle (of course), reuse plastic bags for trash bags, use written-on paper as scrap paper, try to be conscious of how much water I'm using, along with other things....

I've always wondered this. Why does the NBC logo look like a turkey? (see answer for logo)
It actually has an interesting history (and like others said, it is a peacock).
NBC has gone through many logos, and one of the early ones was a peacock.

Here is a question thats eating at me or mabey I've yet to learn how this works, I'm fairly new here. if you ask a question and I take time to answer should't you at least rate plus or minus doesn't matter so I would know you took the time to read it?
There are times when I feel that the question doesn't deserve to be rated up or down, but I do usually make sure to give some sort of feedback. Sometimes the answer just doesn't do anything for me, and that's when I just can't even think of a reply.
But I agree, I do appreciate some form of recognition.

I'll admit, sometimes I waste a lot of paper. When I print something that has to be perfect I don't catch any mistakes on the screen until I print it and look at the actual paper. All the paper I "waste" DOES go to recycling, so should I still feel bad?
Yes. Reducing and reusing is more important than recycling. First, you try using as little paper as possible (being more careful). Then, any paper you do use, you should reuse as scrap paper (shopping lists, little notes, doodling, whatever). When it has finished it's useful life, then, only then, do you recycle it.

Do you always try to read a book before you watch its movie version? If you've seen the movie, do you forget about reading the book even if you wanted to at some point?
Yes, in fact, I always do try to read the original book, because seeing the movie beforehand could completely ruin my perception of the story. I want to have the whole story in my head, just the way I like it, before seeing it. The book's always better.
If I already saw the movie, then I would probably go and try to find the book, because I would be incredibly curious as to what the...

If high fructose corn syrup is making everyone gain weight, why don't they go back to putting cane sugar in food and drinks?
Basically, it's always easier using the fake and unhealthy stuff instead of the natural and healthier alternatives. That's why organic products cost so much; it's harder to keep everything natural.
As long as it's cheap and doesn't kill anybody, artificial things like high fructose corn syrup will still be around.

How do we add comments?
You can only add comments to answers.
When you click on a question, there's a bunch of answers. Each one is in it's own space, and underneath each answer is the Comments spot. Just click "Add a Comment" and type in whatever you want to say.
The user whose answer you commented on will be notified of it.
Hope that makes sense. :-)

What are braces like?
They are honestly not that bad. The orthodontist knows what they're doing, and will try to make everything as pain-free as possible. When you first get them, it might ache a little, or make chewing hard, but after a few days, things should be back to normal. Even when you come every few weeks and get something changed, the slight pain you may experience will only last a few days tops.

Find the distance between the points (3, 0) and (-1, 5)
To find it, one method can be the Pythagoras Theorem. a squared + b squared = c squared. Make a triangle with the points given. Find the lengths of the two lines directly on the coordinate lines (the ones that are easy to find). Square both of them. Add those together. That is the distance between those two points squared. Find the square root, and all should be good.

Is it ever appropriate to decrease or increase the resolution of an image in Photoshop? Why or why not? What file types do you think changing resolution would be the most apppropriate/inappropriate for?
Yes, of course. To put an image on your desktop, you would need to change the resolution. And if you're emailing it, decreasing the resolution would decrease the file size and make sending easier. There's many times when it would come in handy, and Photoshop is perfect for such a job.

Why do people ask highly technical automotive or electronic questions that ultimately will take them buying a technical manual specific to that model in order to get the right answer?
They probably don't want to spend a lot of time looking through some technical, hard to understand manual. They probably hope that there's a real person somewhere out there that can explain the problem in simpler terms. A lot of times, it's more helpful to have someone else explain how to do something instead of interpreting it all by yourself.
Most of the time, no one else...

Why are there so many car repair questions on Answerbag?
It looks like back in the old day, those kinds of questions were actually answered. So when some random person searches on Google and types in all their specific problems, Answerbag pages from the past show up. Then they probably click, realize this is a Q&A site, sign up, and post their question.
That's what it looks like to me.
Answer to:
When did humanity junk the idea that the Earth was flat?
People first figured out the Earth was round 2500 years ago. It wasn't until after Columbus and Magellan that everyone agreed. So latest year would be 1522.

Why do people hav a problem with killing ants? I step on ants all the time. I've no qualms about demolishing their hills. They're inconsequential. And I get a kick out of the idea of crushing tiny civilizations with my feet. What's the prob?
Some people care about all living things, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant. They probably think that ants deserve to live just like all of us.

If you look at a piano, you can see that there is no key just for E sharp or F flat. E sharp would just be F, and F flat would just be E. That's just how it works.

I'm sure that at first I might get a little greedy and spend a lot, but after that, there's still so much money to keep track of. I would keep enough to pay off all bills and buy some nice things, but I would definitely make sure to set aside money for charities and organizations that need help. I couldn't be THAT greedy!

I think that answers need to be in middle. Not 6 lengthy paragraphs of information, but not a yes/no answer either.
I'm actually glad when people elaborate a little, because it can get very tedious reading "Yeah I guess so", "Nope. lol", etc.
But still, I understand what you mean.

What if each AB member was required to do a certain amount of moderating in order to level up, but given no points for moderating? Of course, there would also be a limit on the amount of moderation done by each person, such as there is with points.
First off, that would be a lot of work on the staff, which means probably accepting a lot of flags when they shouldn't be. They just wouldn't have time to keep up.
Anyways, I don't want moderation to be necessary. You're not obliged to think of a certain amount of questions or answers, so why single out moderation?
Finally, can you imagine how everyone might start...

Aye aye. People are too fond of flagging things as duplicates when they're obviously not and calling everything nonsense or spam/offensive. It really bugs me with the amount of incorrectly merged questions.
The points for moderation should be lowered to 1 or 2 or none at all. Maybe then more appropriate moderating will take place.

I think that if we just become smarter about what we do (stop wasting so many materials, recycle everything, use less oil, etc.), the Earth will [hopefully] eventually get back to how it's supposed to be. If there's still global warming after we changed our ways, it shows us that...

I totally agree with lowering the points amount or eliminating points altogether for moderation. It should be done only if you notice something out of place. Yes, for those situations where you need advice, but the situation is complicated and needs to be explained in detail. It would be much more efficient than always saying "see my answer".
