When you go to bed at night, do you go off to sleep very quickly or does it take a while? Why? Deppends on how sleepy I am. But usually it takes me several minutes sometimes hours to fall asleep. Then sometimes I just randomly wake up in the middle of the night or early morning and have trouble drifting back to sleep. When my grandma passed away, not even 2monthes later my grandad got a new gf. do beleive that is right? after spending a lifetime together (together since they were 17) He might have felt alone, like you said they spent almost an entire lifetime together. It must be extreamly hard for him to suddenly be alone like this. He's probably seeking companionship or someone to help him ease the pain a little bit.
