If you can keep your head when all about you

If you can wait, and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too...

Is this sentence grammatically correct or wrong? I find it absolutely necessary for me to justify my case as to why I started my M.sc Physiotherapy at the University of East London but currently why I am pursuing advanced diploma at the crommel college.
I think it's grammatically correct.
But perhaps, break it up with a comma after London,
write 'M. Sc. in Physiotherapy'
write a capital 'A' for 'Advanced',
a capital 'D' for 'Diploma',
a capital 'C' for 'Crommel',
and capital 'C' for 'College'

In chess is it compulsory to change a pawn into a queen once it fulfils it destiny and reaches the other side of board
A pawn can be exchanged into *any* other piece, if it reaches the other side of the board.
I think a lot of players exchange them for queens, because a queen is considered to be the 'most powerful' piece.
But it doesn't *have to* be a queen. A player can change a pawn that has reached the end of the board, to whatever they like, (apart from a king.) :-)

I sometimes think that children get 'too much' homework from school, for example, and get less time to themselves, to enjoy 'playing'.
I often think that they don't get enough of their 'own' time to enjoy their leisure.
So, in a way, I *do* think that children's 'childhood' is being taken away from them, because of 'too much'...

In Latin, septem means "seven" and septimus means "seventh" SO why is September the "ninth" month of the year
September was originally the seventh month in the old calendar system,(The Julian Calendar), followed by October, November, and December, which were originally the 8th, 9th, and 10th months, in the Julian calendar system, also.
The present calendar system, (Gregorian calendar), replaced the Julian Calendar, but the months were re-arranged into a different order.

I would probably need to 're-learn' how to do things, using just one arm, or perhaps might be able to get prosthetic limbs.

I am a weelchair-user myself, and I think I have an idea of how your friend feels sometimes:
Having lost the ability to do things that she could do, before her accident, etc.
But a lot of public places should be accessible, or 'made accessible' for people that use wheelchairs.
You should be able to take her wherever she likes, or would like to go.

Think of things that you'd like to achieve for yourself.
Set yourself small goals first, so that you can work towards achieving bigger ones, later.
Try not to be so 'down' about yourself. You say that you're smart, and I don't think you're failing at 'everything' you do.
It just seems that way, because you feel depressed.

I think that people make fun of each other, to make the person that is being 'made fun of' feel 'inferior' to them.

At the beginning of, 'I Feel Fine', by the Beatles, I think there's unintentional feed-back, from one of the guitars, which they decided to leave in, because they thought it sounded good. :-)
Answer to:
What are your tips for staying young?
Perhaps don't remind yourself of your age - how 'old' you are, - every 12 months.
I think age is just a number, and perhaps 'mentally', people don't feel that they're 'old.'
Perhaps some people think that it's just their appearance that makes them look 'old.'
Get rid of some of the mirrors, that are in the house, perhaps? :-)

I remember going to visit the first school that I went to, from the age of 2 years old.
I went back to visit it when I was in my 20's, and I *was* surprised about the size of things there.
I remember that the dining hall there, didn't seem as big as when I was there as a child. It was the same hall, but as a child, I thought the hall was HUGE.

I think a 'visual field' exam is just to test how good your eyesight is.
For example, if you have difficulty seeing things that are at a distance. Or if you have difficulty seeing things that are near to you.
That is your 'field of vision.'

People that are born deaf, never hear other peoples' voices. So they cannot copy, from other people, 'exactly' how words sound, or how speech sounds.
They can attempt to copy peoples' mouth movements, to try to talk like 'hearing' people, but it doesn't sound the same, because they can't hear their *own* voice.

Forgetting your religion for a minute, when you die, would you rather go to heaven, be reincarnated, or something else?
I think that when we think about death, we only think about it while we are 'living', and the idea of going to heaven, or being reincarnated, might seem attractive to us, while we're alive.
When we die, we are not consciouss of what happens to us. So to me, it doesn't really matter.

A tangram is a kind of 'puzzle' made up of geometric shapes, to create other shapes.

What's the most annoying thing you have had to try and sleep through?
I remember a few years ago, there was something wrong with the water heater in my house. The water pipes started to make quite a loud 'rattling' sound, that went on and on.
This happened late in an evening, so I had to wait till the next morning, for someone to look at it.
The noise just kept me awake, and I don't think I slept at all, that night. :-(

Perhaps, yes.
I was born with a disability, and I am unable to stand or walk.
In some ways, I feel that life has been a struggle for me, because I cannot physically do something that most people can.
But in some ways, I don't, because I can't compare the difference of 'not being able to walk' with 'being able to walk.'

Answer to:
Define: Tolerance
I think tolerance is:
Being able to accept things the way they are.
Realising that some things cannot change, and that no-one can make them change, even though we might want them to.
Having patience, and 'putting up' with less-than-ideal situations, that we cannot change.

Grouse-shooting season in the U.K., traditionally starts on 12th August each year, and is popular amongst some 'upper-class' people.
Foxes and hares get hunted here also.
Personally I think it's cruel. Especially fox hunting, when packs of fox-hounds are followed by upper-class 'snobs' on horses, blowing bugles, etc. chasing after foxes.

I think having dyslexia would affect a person's 'rate of learning', because they would have difficulty with reading & writing.

Is there any proof or theories that sitting close to a t.v. or computer is bad for your eyes?
I think that perhaps if someone is sitting close to a T.V. or computer over a long period of time, this may affect the pupils' ability to expand and contract.
I think the pupils will have been at a 'fixed' width, during that time, making it slightly more difficult to focus on things nearer, or further away.
But I think that it would only be temporary, so perhaps not.

Why is it so much easier to give a compliment than to receive one?
I think perhaps because some people don't think very highly of themselves, so when they get compliments/praise from others, they don't really know how to react to it.
I think a person that gives compliments, wants to let people know that they (the individual) like others, which they find easier, and more comfortable to do.

Why does traffic jams seem to occur more often on rainy days than on sunny days?
Perhaps because people don't like to travel on foot on rainy days, because they get wet, when they're walking.
So they decide to travel using transport, so that they can stay dry that way.
If A LOT of people think similarly, there will be A LOT of transport on roads.

'If.' - Rudyard Kipling. I think it's because of its inspirational qualities:-
'If' by Rudyard Kipling.
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't...

You were suffering the effects of a combination of alcohol & cannabis (or whatever it was).
Perhaps it's not a good combination, and that's why you felt like you couldn't move, and like you were having a panic attack.
The mix of alcohol and weed had a negative effect on your brain.

Why did a forgiving, loving god create the big flood
I think that, according to the Bible, the world had become very corrupt and full of wickedness, during the time that Noah was alive.
So God decided to destroy mankind with a deluge, apart from Noah and his family, who survived the flood in the Ark that he was instructed to build.

Yes. I'm hoping to stay awake to see in the New Year, though! I want to watch the celebrations around the country (England) tonight.
There are usually programmes on T.V., showing how people in different places around the country, are welcoming the New Year. There are often a lot of firework displays, with musical performances, and people dancing, etc.
I enjoy those! :-)

My friends keep saying crap about my clothes, popularity, personality etc to make me feel bad like, "Your haircut looks hideous" & "Only gay people wear cargo pants." Today one of them said I have too many pimples and my acne looks ugly. What should I do?
I don't think people that criticise you a lot about the way you look, should be regarded as friends.
I think friends are people that accept you for the way you are, people that don't criticise you, people that like you.
I think you should try to find people like that. They'll be good friends to you.

I think he's probably jealous of your achievements, and might have memories of what he said to you, i.e. that 'you won't amount to anything.'
His words to you are perhaps making him feel worse, and making him feel a lot of regret.
Perhaps that's the reason why he won't speak to you anymore.
