About me:	Most people I know think that I'm crazy...that is a song by the late great Billy Thorpe, and is the one I want played at my funeral too. Life has been crazy for centuries with my clan running all over the place for the last 200 years. They finally settled in Australia and NZ, then my parents went back to the UK for a holiday and got married there! Then it was back to Aus, where I grew up, with a milliner-vocalist-sell ice to Eskimos mum and a dad who at various times of his life was a road cyclist, a photographic salesman, a car salesman, building block salesman and a would be politician. Learnt to swim coz dad founded the club. learnt to sing by osmosis...everyone did at home Duxed Primary School, did well at high school, majored in Modern Languages (Indonesian and German) and went on to do an Honours Degree in Indonesian and Italian. Along the way I also did a few years of Anthropology, learnt to play gamelan (traditional javanese/balinese orchestra) and travelled widely using the languages I speak (plus a few others I can get along in). Oh, and became a Christian, which tied everything together. Married my husband (Italo-German, born in Australia) and have 2 daughters. Have lived in the Italo Australian community for 27 years now. Also strongly linked to the south-East Asian communities of Sydney and to Bali in Indonesia. Have been a teacher, a vocalist, a translator, an interpreter, a writer (prose, poetry, plays, songs,short stories, novels...almost got one published but the company folded-sigh)a puppeter and a clown (love it). I enjoy working with children, and help out the orphanage system of the Bali Protestant church by sending or taking supplies to them, and by raising their profile in Australia. Recently have had the opportunity to expand support, at least on a basic level, to other parts of Indonesia and the world. Love reading, music, writing, theology, history, travel, genealogy, herbal medicine, ebay, word puzzles, collecting trolls (not the ones on AB, the little plastic ones!) and sewing. That's why most people I know think that I'm crazy coz I do all of this with chronic fatigue...it's better than it was, but it still slows me down...but no sense worrying about it...too much to do...I can sleep later. Singwell is finding it hard to keep up with the pressures of being in the top 20, so she is letting someone else have a go. She will still be around, but not trying so hard.
